Chapter 57: Seduce him
Chapter 57: Seduce him
That evening, Chris was able to talk to Wilson since they had both been quite busy and hadn’t spoken in a while.
It was funny how only a few days had passed, but there was a whole lot he had to tell his friend, who wanted to know how he was faring over there.
He told him all he had been up to here: his parents suddenly showing up, the bike race today, and how Rachel was making his stay here bearable. Wilson also told him some of his plans for school, and when he felt he was done updating Wilson, his friend asked, "How come you haven’t mentioned him yet?"
"Mentioned who?"
"We’ve been talking for over 10 minutes, and you haven’t mentioned your roommate. Are you no longer into him, or are you too into him and trying to avoid talking about him?" Wilson asked in a teasing tone.
"I don’t need to always talk about him," Chris said to him even though he was thinking about what Wilson had said. Why hadn’t he mentioned anything about Sky? He hadn’t deliberately avoided the topic. It just didn’t cross his mind to talk about it.
"Do you think it’s possible that he might be interested in me, and I do not know? I should be aware if he were right?" Chris asked before Wilson could comment on the first thing he said.
"I mean, it’s not surprising if you aren’t. It wouldn’t be the first time, would it?"
"Will!" Chris called sternly.
"I know. I know. I won’t talk about that." Wilson said defensively. "But you seem to have gotten a lot better. Do you still... brood over that?"
Chris pondered the question. Surprisingly, the answer was no. He could not even remember the last time he thought about ’him’.
Wow!
"It’s all good here." He answered in a simple tone.
"Now to your question. Do you think your roommate is interested in you?"
"I just think he acts odd."
"Seduce him."
It was typical of Wilson to give him that kind of advice.
"I have."
"Wait! Really?" Wilson sounded surprised.
"I stripped before him and even touched his face."
"Stripped? Like naked?!"
"No! Just my shirt."
"Oh! So did he stare? Did he look interested?" Wilson inquired.
"Stare, yes. Whether he was interested, I don’t think so."
Sky did stare. And he thought Chris had a perfect body. He had said that and hinted at it a couple of times before, but it didn’t seem like he meant it in a sexual way.
"Hmm. We can’t just conclude if he only stared. Guys always stare at the bodies of other guys. You know... for just silly comparisons and stuff. What about him? Has he tried to strip in front of you yet?"
Chris snorted. "Never! He covers up even more than nuns."
Wilson laughed loudly. "Then how come you suspect he likes you?"
Where did he want to start? Is it Sky’s intense stare? The way he behaved? The flirts?
But then again, hadn’t his friends made him realize that he was like that to others too? He even bought Gary burgers too!
"I don’t even know. He probably doesn’t." He said with a defeated sigh.
"Chris... I just want you to know that I am concerned about you and this guy. You may not realize it yet, but he is getting to you."
"He isn’t."
That was a defensive lie.
"Should I remind you that you mentioned earlier that he isn’t the kind of guy you’d like to have anything with? And then later, you mentioned he was the kind of guy you’d only like to sexually explore. And now, it seems like you’re beginning to hope for more."
"Don’t be silly! I’m not hoping for shit."
"Then you shouldn’t be bothered about whether he likes you or not. You didn’t go there to find love, remember? I don’t want to see you get heartbroken again. I’ll beat the shit out of that guy if it happens."
"I hate it when you sound like that, you know?"
"If you can, try to stay away from him. For. Your. Mental. Health. He isn’t good for you."
Speak of the devil.
While Wilson was still busy advising him to stay away from Sky, the door opened, and he entered with a big backpack hanging on one shoulder.
Chris hadn’t expected him. Not after the awkwardness today, and also because it was Saturday night. Shouldn’t he be at the pub or anywhere else he usually disappears to?
Sky locked the door behind him and rested his back against the door. He looked directly at Chris with his arms folded across his chest.
There he was. Being creepy again as usual.
"I’ll text you," Chris said to Wilson before ending the call, and then he looked at Sky.
Sky looked back at him.
Both said no words to each other, so Chris decided to ignore him and text Wilson instead. But he still had his attention on Sky. It was impossible not to.
From the corner of his eyes, he could see all that Sky was doing. He went to sit down on his bed and kept staring at Chris.
So he ignored Chris earlier only to stare at him like a psycho right now?
Sky unzipped his bag and took something from it. When Chris noticed Sky was throwing something at him through the corner of his eye, he quickly dodged it, and the ’weapon’ hit the wall behind him. It was a bag of chips.
"So you were paying attention to me." Sky pointed it out with a raised brow.
"Can we have a peaceful and quiet night where we do not have to talk to each other?" Chris said, reminding him about what he had said earlier inside the car.
"Do not be petty," Sky said while looking at Chris with a serious gaze.
Do not be petty? Coming from Sky?
Wow! This was a typical example of pot calling kettle black.
