Chapter 45: Wanting the roommate

Chapter 45: Wanting the roommate

He wanted to lean in!

Should he? What would happen if he did?

There was an intense battle within him as he tried not to do what his primal instincts were convincing him to do. And he also tried to weigh the pros and cons in his head and from the look of things, there were a whole lot of cons and he could not find any pros of kissing his roommate.

Fortunately, he quickly snapped back to his senses when Sky casually said, "Well, no one had actually done that one before."

He quickly moved his eyes away from his lips to look at Sky, who was staring right back at him with a mischievous look in his eyes.

Nothing was working on this guy. However, he was punishing himself. Either this guy was so straight that men did nothing for him at all, or he was just really good at hiding whatever he felt. But Chris doubted the latter.

He was at least thankful he was still wearing his pants and the tight briefs underneath them. That saved him from further embarrassment.

To break the awkwardness, Chris let out a laugh and withdrew from him while thinking of something else to talk about. He racked his brain seriously before he remembered something and immediately asked.

"Seriously... how did you know what I ate today? I don’t want to believe you are stalking me." He tried to play it off lightly as he made to open his wardrobe, so a smug Sky, who had obviously won this round again, stepped away and returned to his bed as he answered.

"It’s a pretty small town. It’s impossible not to know." He answered as he picked up his phone and got busy with it.

"So... you also know what Gary ate today?"

There it was again!

Seriously!!!! Chris, stop it!

"I really don’t give two shits about that guy," Sky said without looking up from his phone.

According to Rachel, he doesn’t use social media, so what was he always doing with it?

"But you care for him, don’t you?"

"Who?" Sky asked absentmindedly, still busy this time with typing on his phone.

"Gary."

Sky shrugged, and as he typed something on his phone, he answered, "He was new. His admissions process began last year. I was asked to look after him. But he’s too clingy and needy. Can’t deal with that."

"So when I’m old, you’ll find me clingy and needy and not give two shits about me?"

For real, Chris???????

This time, Sky looked up at him as he answered, "You don’t look like that type. Besides, he has a roommate. You are my roommate, and I’ll care for you."

He returned his attention to his phone as he said, "So you don’t have to be jealous of Gary when you are mine."

"WHAT?"

That startled Chris. What the hell did that mean?

Sky looked up at him. "Mine. My roommate."

Oh... that.

Whew!

"Well, I do not care about you, so you can as well take that attention to Gary, who obviously has a crush on you," Chris said dismissively, but then Sky looked up at him in surprise, asking,

"How did you know that?"

"How did I know what?" Chris asked in confusion.

"That he has a crush on me."

"It’s like the most obvious thing in this world." He almost rolled his eyes. Everyone could see it clearly.

"Really?" Sky sounded like he didn’t believe it, which confused Chris a bit. "Noel and Henry mentioned it last night. I wasn’t sure."

"For real?" Chris was indeed surprised. "You didn’t know Gary liked you?"

"How was I supposed to know that?" Sky asked in confusion.

"How couldn’t you know?!" Chris asked in disbelief.

"He didn’t tell me. I thought it was like his personality. I cannot just jump to conclusions like that."

"Wait... what? Are you blind?" He couldn’t believe it!

Sky had to be blind. Because how could he not see the obvious?

On the other hand, it gave him a sense of confidence because it seemed Sky was really dense when it came to those kinds of things.

It would be difficult for him to catch on that Chris had an unusual interest in him.

Just perfect!

"What are you thinking about so seriously?" Sky asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.

If only he knew.

"Nothing." He answered casually, smiling at him.

Sky gave him a suspicious stare like he didn’t believe him, but then he said, "Go shower. Then come have dinner and see a movie with me."

That sounded almost sexy. But he knew it was only in his head. If it had been someone else, he would have thought the person was implying more than what the words meant literally. But he was dealing with a dense and frustrating Sky.

"And then we’ll talk about Rain," Sky added in a stern tone, making him almost groan.

Why did he always have to ruin his fantasy?!!

When Chris was in the shower, he realized just how much trouble he was continuously putting himself in. Because now he had two scenes in his head that he could not get rid of. The first one was inside the storage room in the school gym, and the second one was the moment that just happened in the room.

And it seemed like the devil was bent on frustrating him because no matter how hard he tried not to think about any of them, he couldn’t stop it, and it didn’t help that he was running his hands all over his body.

How long was this going to continue?

Sky Sato.

He was really beginning to want that guy.
