Chapter 188: Obsessive meets Obsessive

Chapter 188: Obsessive meets Obsessive

Ash scoffed, tongue running over his teeth. "Are you really going to pretend you don’t know?"

Sky was getting tired of this. "Know what?"

"That I like you."

The words came out fast, sharp, like they had been ripped out of him against his will.

For a second, Sky just stared.

Then he shook his head. "I don’t have time for this nonsense."

"Nonsense?" Ash tried to keep a smirk on his face, but his eyes betrayed him—glinting with something raw and unguarded. "You should see yourself right now. A fucking mess, running around like a lovesick idiot, desperate for answers. I should be offended, Sky." His voice dropped slightly, something unspoken hanging in the air. "But I’m not."

Sky’s fingers curled at his sides, nails digging into his palms as he fought to keep his composure. "Do you have anything useful to say, or are you just wasting my time?"

Ash’s laugh was bitter, almost mocking. "You are so insensitive, you know that? You come here, demanding things from me, acting like I owe you something. Like I’m just some tool for you to use."

Sky’s patience snapped. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" he snarled, taking a threatening step closer. "If you’re just going to piss me off, then you’re useless to me."

He moved to leave, not wanting to spend another second in Ash’s presence. But before he could step past the glass door, Ash was beside him, grabbing Sky’s wrist in a grip that wasn’t aggressive but wasn’t gentle either. His voice was lower now, sharper.

"You’ve always known, haven’t you?"

Sky jerked his arm back, stepping away and glaring darkly at Ash. "What the hell are you talking about?"

Ash laughed—bitter, almost manic. "Oh, so we’re doing this? Fine." He stood straight, shoulders tense. "You think I enjoy this shit? Huh? You think I like watching you chase after some dumb fantasy with Chris while you act like I don’t exist?"

"Why the hell should I care about you—"

"Shut up," Ash cut him off, eyes burning. "You are still pretending like you didn’t know? Like you haven’t noticed how I’ve always been there, always watching?" His voice dropped, trembling with barely restrained emotion. "Do you know how fucking frustrating it is? To want someone who won’t even look at you. Not even when they need something? You agreed to come to my pool party because he was coming. You knew I lied when I said I simply wanted you for your publicity. You pretended not to know. Or maybe you just thought I was stupid."

His tone was getting higher and higher. "...You bought the idea and accepted it as a job for me to pay you. But you had come for him. I could tell it from the moment I saw you at the race event. I didn’t want to believe it. But I did invite him. To see if it was true even the slightest." He looked at Sky with so much disappointment and betrayal in his eyes, one would think Sky had cheated on him.

"I am not in the mood to recount—"

"EVEN..." Ash interrupted once more, looking at him accusingly. "Even when you were drugged, he was the one who came to take you out of there! And now, you find me just for him?"

Sky’s heart stopped for a second. "How... did you know I was drugged—"

"Don’t ask me any fucking question!" Ash’s face twisted with something ugly. "You broke up with Mei now, huh? What was it? Did finding out Chris was a rich boy make you change your mind? You didn’t wanna sell your ass before, but now it looks like you don’t mind spreading your legs for him."

Sky’s entire body locked up. Then, in one sharp movement, he grabbed Ash by the neck and shoved him back against the glass door. Hard. It rattled the frame. Ash’s breath hitched.

"The fuck did you just say?" Sky’s voice was dangerously low, his heart pounding with pure, unfiltered rage.

Ash grinned, his lips curling into a taunting smile. "Hit me," he dared. "Come on. Do it."

Sky’s grip tightened, but he didn’t move. His whole body was shaking with how much he wanted to punch Ash, but something stopped him. The bruise on Ash’s face. The tension in his shoulders. The way his fingers twitched like he was seconds away from breaking apart.

Ash wanted him to hit him. But Sky was bound to never give him what he wanted. No matter how tempting it was.

"You can’t do it?" Ash taunted, his voice cracking slightly.

Sky’s grip around his neck loosened, and he withdrew his hand, but Ash grabbed it, taking it back to his neck.

That momentarily stunned Sky.

"This is the first time you’re touching me," Ash said, his voice softer now, almost vulnerable. "No matter what I did in the past, you never touched me."

Sky tried to pull his hand away, but Ash held him tightly.

"If you were ever going to fall for a boy, why not me?" His voice was low, but the accusation was hard. "I have always liked you. I liked you first. But you went ahead to be with Mei. And now... you..." His voice cracked. The hardness in his eyes softened, and it looked like he might cry soon. Sky had never seen him look this way.

And to be honest... he was disgusted.

"Is it because I messed around with others?" Ash suddenly asks. "I don’t fucking care about them. I don’t like any of them. If you’re angry at me because of that—"

Sky shoved him hard, pulling his hand away from him. The glass frame rattled again.

Sky could feel goosebumps rising on his skin from how crazy this guy was being.

(Hahaha. See who is calling someone crazy. But this author doesn’t judge.)

"You are... delusional," Sky said in disbelief, looking at him. "Why would I ever like you? Do you... do you know how much I hate you?"
