Chapter 157: "I want you to completely surrender."
"You weren’t this interested when I kissed Ash and started hanging out with Gary," Chris reminded him.
"YOU WEREN’T VISITING THEIR HOUSES OR CALLING THEM ’CLAIR’!" Sky snapped, but almost immediately, he looked guilty for reacting that way and muttered a quick, "Sorry."
Damn.
Sky must have really hated that nickname calling.
Chris had a classmate back in high school called Sinclair, but everyone called him Clair. That had naturally made him slip up to address Sinclair the same way. He hadn’t thought much of it.
If he had known how much it would upset his babe, he would have been careful.
"What... is so special about him?" Sky asked him quietly. He looked... sad. "Why?"
"Do you want it to be you?" Chris asked him.
Sky’s lips parted as if to respond, but no words came. His face twisted with uncertainty. "Are you... mad at me?" he asked hesitantly, his voice softer now.
Chris sighed. "Why would I be mad?"
Sky stepped toward him, but once again, he didn’t reach for him. He stopped abruptly, scrubbing his hands over his face as if trying to wipe away whatever turmoil was brewing inside. "I’m sorry," he muttered. "I don’t know what I’m doing."
He looked clearly frustrated.
Chris sighed again. He would have said he owed Sky no explanations, but he didn’t want to make things any more complicated for him. So he decided to be honest.
"Nothing happened between me and Clair—"
"Oh, for fuck’s sake, Chris!" Sky cut him off, his voice sharp and fraying at the edges. "At least stop calling him that for just a second. I need... to think."
Sky sank onto the bed, elbows on his knees, cupping his head as though trying to physically hold himself together. His breathing was uneven, frustration and something deeper radiating off him.
Chris stood there, a bit lost.
He wasn’t sure what to do or how to help this situation.
It seemed like Sky had a lot of tension in him which he found difficult to control right now.
Without fully thinking it through, Chris crossed the room and stopped right in front of him.
Sky didn’t look up. His eyes were closed tightly. He seemed to be struggling with whatever he was thinking about.
Chris watched him for a heartbeat, then his hand tangled in Sky’s hair, a firm but gentle grip, tilting Sky’s face up to meet his. Chris, standing, leaned down towards Sky, who was seated on the bed.
Sky’s eyes snapped open, a flicker of shock in their depths. His lips parted, a silent question forming, but before a word could escape, Chris’s mouth crashed down on his. The kiss was fierce, impulsive, a sudden explosion of need.
Sky stiffened, caught off guard. A gasp hitched in his throat, but Chris didn’t relent. He deepened the kiss, his tongue tangling with Sky’s, conveying a torrent of emotions – frustration, curiosity, and something dangerously close to tenderness. He nipped gently at Sky’s lower lip, eliciting a soft moan.
Chris smiled against his lips. He liked how sensitive Sky was.
It was just... beautiful.
Sky pulled back slightly, pushing Chris without any force. His eyes wide and disbelieving. "What... are you doing?" he breathed, his voice barely a whisper.
Chris’s thumb traced a line along Sky’s jawline. "Trying to make you settle," he murmured, his voice rough. "Stop thinking so much and kiss me back. If you want..."
Sky’s gaze darted around the room, a whirlwind of confusion and... something else, something akin to... interest? It swirled within him. Chris gave him no time to analyze it. He slid his other hand into Sky’s hair, his fingers weaving through the thick strands, gently tugging.
Sky’s breath hitched again. His lips parted, his tongue darting out to moisten them. This time, when Chris descended, there was no hesitation. Their lips met in a hungry, urgent collision.
Sky’s hands clenched the bed sheets beneath him, knuckles white, as if he were desperately clinging to the remnants of his composure. But it was a losing battle. His eyes fluttered closed, and he surrendered, kissing Chris back with a raw desperation that mirrored Chris’s own. His tongue met Chris’s, a tentative dance that quickly escalated into a fervent exploration.
Chris pulled back slowly, their gazes locked, burning with the lingering heat of the kiss. He whispered, his voice rough and low, "I’m only going to say this once. So listen carefully..."
Sky blinked, his breath catching in his throat, his eyes searching Chris’s as though wondering what he had to say right now.
"Take your time," Chris continued, his gaze intense. "Because when you come to me..." he trailed a finger down Sky’s neck as he continued, "...I want you to completely surrender."
A heavy silence descended, charged with unspoken desires. Sky’s breath hitched, his eyes still locked on Chris’s. He nervously licked his lips, the taste of Chris still lingering there. The weight of Chris’s words, the implicit demand for complete surrender, pressed down on him, a delicious mix of fear and excitement swirling in his gut. He parted his lips to speak, but the words caught in his throat.
Chris remained silent, his gaze unwavering, searching Sky’s face for an answer. The silence stretched, each tick of the clock amplifying the frantic rhythm of Sky’s heart.
Sky’s fingers twitched against the bed sheets. He swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry. The "okay" he wanted to give seemed to catch and die on his tongue. He wanted to say it, he did, but something held him back.
The totality of Chris’s request, the complete surrender he demanded, was both alluring and terrifying. More terrifying.
He met Chris’s gaze, a silent battle raging within him. Finally, he shook his head slightly. "You... are asking for too much. I don’t have an answer," he looked away as he whispered.
However...
A slow smile spread across Chris’s face.
Not a no.
That was good enough for now. He bent down and brushed a soft kiss against Sky’s lips, his teeth gently grazing Sky’s lower lip in a playful nip.
"You don’t have to give me an answer," Chris murmured, his voice low and confident. "Because it wasn’t a question. You will surrender to me, Sky Sato." Completely.
Pulling his hair, he made sure Sky locked gaze with him again.
