Iron Harvest: When Farming Becomes Conquest
Chapter 229 - 1: Holy Knight_3

Chapter 229: Chapter 1: Holy Knight_3

"Because there is only one Conqueror," Olus said.

"His age has passed," Quintus spoke, "I saw it with my own eyes."

"Now it is but a lingering reflection in the water of the Black Iron Age, the afterglow of a setting sun," Marcus added.

He unsheathed the Golden Sword with a clang.

"The Holy Knights guarded at the behest of All Gods, we took oaths right where you stand," Philip drew his sword as well.

"Holy Knights hold fast to their vows, do not step into the Holy Temple!" the youngest Maegor also spoke.

"Otherwise, half of you will die..."

Several hundred Witches stood before the wide great hall, all looking at the radiating gold light from the five Holy Knights forming a wall of light.

That thin, short wall of light appeared like an insurmountable mountain.

And behind them, more and more Holy Temple Knights and Holy City Guards were gathering.

"If you do not tread into the Holy Temple, we will not strike, I swear," the eldest, Olus, made no move.

"I swear it too," Quintus said.

"Holy Knights have always held true to their vows," Marcus spoke.

"But you have disappointed me," Mona said.

"Because Witches are not included in the vows of Holy Knights, you are not of the Human Clan," the Holy Knights all said.

"Is this the end, or is it the beginning?" Mona asked.

"It is the beginning! It must be the beginning!" the Thunder Witch asserted determinedly.

The Thunder Witch raised her hand, and purple lightning exploded in her palm.

In an instant, a ten-meter-high chain of lightning blossomed, its branches spreading like a tree.

It was not an attack, but a signal.

First, they heard the cry of a giant eagle, then came a piercing howl, like the sound of a meteor breaking through the atmosphere.

The five Holy Knights, several hundred Temple Knights and over a thousand Guards all looked up at the same time.

The sky above the Luminous Pearl was as bright as day.

It was a massive chunk of icy meteor, bright as snow, falling from the sky, growing larger as it descended!

Boom!!

At the moment of impact, the whole Holy City trembled.

The base of the Holy Temple was the cut-flat rock of a solid, stable mountain.

Now, there was a crater ten meters wide and two meters deep.

Many fragments of rock and ice scattered around in a radial pattern.

The five Holy Knights were visibly moved; the gathered Temple Knights and City Guards suffered heavy casualties from the impact, with half their strength lost amidst widespread lamentation.

In the center of the crater, a tall figure emerged from the dust, surrounded by fragments of ice, like flowers in a crystal.

She was taller and more imposing than even Olus.

At two meters twenty, she was like a giant.

Her armor was pure white, covering her entire body, finely forged, and intricately constructed.

She moved with ease, like a swift yet impenetrable tank.

The well-informed Holy Knights recognized it as armor made of Platinum.

This metal was rarer than gold, harder, more malleable, and more formidable.

Perhaps there was also a substantial amount of Mithril mixed in, which was also extremely malleable, light and bright, emitting a radiant pure white luster.

But what the Holy Knights focused on at that moment was not the Platinum Battle Armor that was expensive enough to buy one-fifth of the Divine Castle,

It was the equipment held in the pair of Platinum Gloves.

One was called the Immortal Shield, a family heirloom of Riptide.

The other was called the Sword of Glory, a family heirloom of Oak.

They all remembered the legend, which was vividly clear to Olus and Quintus.

...

"The Conqueror brought back three Divine Artifacts from the Land of Divine Fall, entrusted to his followers, an act that determined the Destiny of the Human Clan."
