Chapter 95: Bro, You’re Too Bad
Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Bro, You’re Too Bad
Dream Morrow glanced at Yusuf Zuck, then at the retreating figure of the beautiful woman, before scratching his chin. It looked like there was some story between his brother and that beauty.
"By the way, bro, do you need me to do anything for you?" Dream was now the type who was neither here nor there. Although he was a promising Judo student, after being dismissed, he had no special skills to speak of. His only skill was that he had a driver’s license and could drive, which was just enough to scrape by with a barely comfortable life.
He now had no car, no house, no savings. If Old Xu hadn’t helped him out recently, he really might have resorted to selling his blood to get by.
"I’ve offended someone in Beijing... um, a big brother figure in society, so I’m worried they might go after Sara. So, your job is to secretly protect my little sister. Of course, I’ll cover food and accommodation, and your salary every month will be..."
"Don’t talk about money!" Before Yusuf could finish speaking, Dream’s eyes lit up as he interjected, "Is it my little Sara? The one at the Film Academy? Bro, forget about the money, I’m more than willing to protect little Sara."
"I’m gonna smack you dead, don’t even think about making a move on Sara!" Yusuf raised his hand to smack Dream, who immediately begged for mercy, "Bro, hold on, hold on. I meant no harm, really no harm. Back when we were at school, Sara was just a teenager. I’m not an animal, how could I have any thoughts about little Sara?"
"What I mean is, why would you talk about a salary for protecting our sister?" Dream mumbled. "Having food, drinks, and a place to stay is enough, plus a little pocket money for- the occasional..."
"Now that sounds sensible. Go get that leather case from the trunk."
"Oh, right." Dream got out of the car and, upon lifting the back door, saw two leather cases, one big and one small, with the smaller one inside.
"The small one, right?" Dream asked.
"Yeah." Yusuf nodded.
"What’s inside this?" Dream picked up the small leather case and slid back into the passenger seat.
"Money, take a hundred thousand for yourself first."
"What? A hundred thousand?" Dream quickly opened the case, then was completely dumbfounded; the case was filled with stacks of hundred-yuan bills, likely amounting to several hundred thousand.
"Bro, did you really strike it rich? Let me see how much is left." Dream couldn’t help but swallow hard. The plane ticket to Beijing had been paid for by Old Xu, who also gave him five thousand yuan to spend, but besides that five thousand, he didn’t have a single penny.
"Damn, three hundred and eighty thousand." After counting the stacks, Dream’s hands started trembling with excitement. It looked like his brother really had struck it rich.
"Three hundred and eighty thousand, huh?" Yusuf calculated. Originally there was five hundred thousand; he’d lent Ruth Wilcox one hundred and thirty thousand in Shanghai. After that, he’d spent another hundred thousand in Shanghai, leaving not much. On returning, he had given Samuel Ross one hundred thousand for rent, and just that morning, finance had returned his thirteen thousand plus. So, having three hundred and eighty thousand left in the case made sense. He still had several thousand in his pocket.
"Count out a hundred thousand and put it in your bag. You might have to stay in a hotel for the next few days; I’m having someone help you rent a place," Yusuf said. "Also, the people I’ve offended are from the streets. I don’t know if they might go after Sara, so no matter what, you have to ensure Sara’s safety and make sure she doesn’t find out you’re there."
"Got it. Bastards, if anyone dares to mess with Sara, I’ll break them! But bro, I don’t need that much money. I’ll just take two bundles for now, I don’t have anywhere to put the rest. I’ll ask you for more if I need it," Dream said with restraint, taking only two bundles out and stuffing them into his travel bag before closing the case.
"That’s fine. I’ve got enough to eat in Beijing, and I won’t let you go hungry. Don’t worry, I’ll save money for you every month. I guarantee that in a few years, you’ll have a car, a house, and a wife in Beijing!"
"I’d rather just protect little Sara. Let’s forget about the wife..."
"I’m gonna smack you so hard..." Yusuf Zuck was so angry that his eyes rolled back, while Dream Morrow just laughed gleefully.
The two had only been in contact for half a year during school, but after all, they had spent that half year living and eating together. They were playmates who used to fool around and act silly during school days, and those times were pure innocence.
Moreover, Dream Morrow’s nature hadn’t really changed; he was still prone to wrestling people to the ground. The fact that he even dared to challenge his coach showed that his temperament was still the same: straightforward and fiery.
"Bro, stop messing around. I went to see Luciano the day before yesterday." After fooling around for a bit, Dream Morrow suddenly brought up Luciano, who was still in prison.
"He’s getting out soon. When he does, we’ll go pick him up together," Yusuf Zuck sighed and said.
"His personality has changed; he’s not like he was before." Dream Morrow also sighed, "He’s become silent and less talkative, with a really cold stare. I’m a bit scared just looking at him."
Yusuf Zuck said leisurely, "Adversity brings wisdom. It’s time for him to grow up."
"Yeah, he’s gone from a young wolf cub to a big wolf. After he gets out, you’ll have to handle him. He listens to you and doesn’t give a damn about me or Old Xu."
"I know," Yusuf Zuck nodded and said nothing more. Luciano had a wild and fierce nature, and aside from Yusuf himself, he rarely listened to anyone else’s advice.
"The beauty is coming out..." Just then, Dream Morrow sat up straight because a group of about twenty people were coming out of the terminal. Leading them was a middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes, looking to be over fifty. On his left was Ruth Wilcox, and on his right, a middle-aged woman, accompanied by several others in formal attire, both middle-aged and younger. The group was substantial, with more than a dozen people.
Ruth Wilcox wore a smile and was chatting amiably with the middle-aged man; it seemed there was no immediate opposition between them.
At this moment, Yusuf Zuck exhaled. In fact, he wasn’t in a hurry to leave because he wanted to see if Ruth Wilcox would be mistreated. But considering the current situation, it looked like even if headquarters wanted to remove her, they would do so amicably, given that the man was her uncle.
"Little Dream, I have a mission for you!" Just then, Yusuf Zuck suddenly noticed Warren Thornton chatting and laughing with a young man. They were following in the second tier, and Warren Thornton looked quite smug.
"What mission?" Dream Morrow quickly sat up and asked.
"See that woman in the back? The one in a business suit, with her hair up, red lips?" Yusuf Zuck pointed at Warren Thornton.
"Yeah, she’s a beauty alright, with a big chest," Dream Morrow nodded and replied.
"Her name is Warren Thornton, twenty-six years old. She used to work in Shanghai. Go over there and slap her across the face, and say she deceived your feelings..." Yusuf Zuck was ready to play a dirty trick on Warren Thornton.
"Bro, I don’t hit women. I’m not doing this," Dream Morrow immediately shook his head, sharing the same principle as Yusuf Zuck: no hitting women.
"Damn it, then don’t hit her. But you can still act shamelessly, right? Quickly, just say you’re her boyfriend, and she dumped you or something. You can at least insult her, can’t you?"
"Great, I’ve realized you’re still as bad as ever," Dream Morrow gave Yusuf Zuck a sidelong glance. The reason Yusuf was the leader to him, Old Xu, and Luciano, was precisely because Yusuf always had a multitude of wicked ideas—he was the kind who led them into mischief.
Of course, even though he verbally disapproved of Yusuf’s naughtiness, Dream Morrow didn’t hesitate to act. He loved this kind of thing, so he grabbed his bag, jumped out of the car, and ran straight towards Ruth Wilcox’s team.
