The idea of the dead visiting dreams is a common tale among the folk, but many hold the belief that what you believe exists, and what you do not, does not. Even when burning joss paper for relatives, it’s done for the peace of mind.

Even Khaza Zuck couldn’t clarify, although he exorcized spirits, and even though he was an extraordinary person, this was merely a technique inherited from his ancestors.

Yusuf Zuck asked him why Ariel Higgins had come to him in dreams twice in a row, but he couldn’t answer—because it was impossible to tell. If he told Yusuf Zuck that Ariel Higgins had become a ghost, then where was she?

If he said she had not become a ghost, but what if she really had become one? What then?

This matter really was one of belief making something exist or not.

Yusuf Zuck didn’t get a clear answer, but he didn’t give up. He sought out the great demon Blue Dragon, Elder Turtle, Six-fingered Ape, and others, asking them if ghosts existed in this world!

However, the response from Six-fingered Ape and the rest was unequivocal—there were no ghosts in this world, at least not in the Dragon Gate World.

Yusuf Zuck also found Gabriel and asked him if ghosts existed in this world.

Gabriel’s answer was that there are ghosts in the East and what are called evil spirits in the West, which also means ghosts. These evil spirits dwell in Hell, governed by Satan, and are at odds with Heaven, enemies of the Divine Sect, one righteous and one evil!

In the end, Gabriel’s reply was that, although he had never seen ghosts or evil spirits, Satan definitely existed because Angels had appeared. Therefore, the devil Satan must exist as the ruler of Hell, where the souls of some people go after death, while others enter Heaven.

Yusuf Zuck beat Gabriel up, dissatisfied with his answer!

However, none of these visits provided clear answers, as all seemed to have half-baked knowledge.

Ultimately, it was Ruth Wilcox who brought peace to Yusuf Zuck’s mind: she told him that if he believed in something in his heart, it existed, and if he did not, it did not, suggesting that Ariel Higgins might have already been reborn in another world.

It was precisely this statement that suddenly brought a sense of clear understanding to Yusuf Zuck, as he remembered something about planes of existence!

This world definitely contained other planes, because he had seen Gabriel and that young man with his own eyes and heard with his own ears.

And what might those planes contain? Satan? Angels? Easterners? The reincarnated?

"We cannot bring back the dead, can we cherish what is before us now?" Ruth Wilcox said, gripping Yusuf Zuck’s hand tightly, for in these past days, he had seemed possessed, resembling someone haunted, a frightening sight!

"Hmm, I know what I need to do now. I’m going to the Dragon Gate World. You all should not follow me. I’ll return immediately after finishing one thing and you don’t need to worry about me," Yusuf Zuck suddenly said with a smile to Ruth Wilcox.

Ruth Wilcox opened her mouth; she wanted to ask Yusuf Zuck what he was going to do, but she couldn’t bring herself to ask.

"Don’t worry, I won’t die. At least the mundane world is safe for a short while. Even if Angels or Bird Man appear again, they probably won’t target you all. At most they might capture the great demons for a blood sacrifice," Yusuf Zuck reassured.

"Um, just be careful and make it quick." Ruth Wilcox nodded. She knew that nothing could stop Yusuf Zuck, so all she could do was pray for his safety.

"Sure, I’ll set off immediately and try to return as soon as possible, I won’t notify the others." Yusuf Zuck rose to his feet and strode out of Ruth Wilcox’s villa.

He was heading to Dragon Gate World for two reasons: first, to check if there were any new developments on Wu Mao’s end, and second, to make a trip to the Vast mountain range, where he intended to subdue all the major demons and then have them help him collect rare treasures and quality pills for cultivation.

Indeed, he wanted not only for Ruth and the others to train and make rapid progress, but he also needed to cultivate, to improve himself, because only by becoming powerful could he stand unbullied and only by being powerful could he uncover every secret of this world, step by step.

At the very least, he had to become strong enough so that one day, when a Bird Man from another plane attacked again, he would have the power to counter it. Therefore, he absolutely had to grow strong, to surpass everything, and to unlock the power of all Blood Beads!

In a vague sense, he understood that, should he truly manage to unlock all Blood Beads one day, he would transcend everything, considering that he had only opened ten so far.

Of course, he was also keen to clarify the rumors about ghosts. Perhaps one day, if he became powerful enough and came into contact with that plane, the mystery of the ghosts would be easily solved. However, he genuinely hoped that this world contained a heaven, a hell, or an Underworld, and truly wished that the soul could linger in some world after death. That way, when he became powerful like a god, he could venture to that world and pull out Ariel Higgins’s ghost!

Three days later, he brought the highly decayed mice, now riddled with maggots, into the cave and dropped several by each spring pool within the caves. However, he dumped the most by the pool in the eighth cave, also tossing plenty into the water.

They were full of maggots—it was disgusting and reeked.

Yusuf Zuck believed that if anyone accidentally came here over the next few months and saw these small animal carcasses, they would almost certainly not take a bath in the water.

Even if, after several years, these small animals were reduced to skeletal frames, as long as they were by the spring pool, any visitors would feel disgusted and would neither dare drink the water nor bathe in it.

This was a psychological trick—no need for formations, no blocking, no marking. Just a few revolting animal skeletons could be highly effective!

After satisfactorily inspecting his handiwork, Yusuf Zuck finally turned and left.

"Yes, yes," the tea stand old man said, beaming as he pocketed the Gold Coins. "Messiah Palmer has composed five new poems that have spread throughout the land, announcing that Bryson Campbell of Chicken Mountain is a vile wretch already known to the world. What was that phrase? ’Dog shit is odorless compared to Campbell’s stench!’"

"Pfft—" Yusuf Zuck spat out his mouthful of tea.
