Chapter 584: Chapter 583: Dreams and Ambitions
At Hospital 301, Yusuf Zuck saw Everest Zuck, who was wrapped up like a wooden auntie, his entire body covered in plaster casts, with one leg even suspended. Only his eyes and mouth were exposed, and even his nose was bundled in gauze.
Yusuf Zuck stared at Everest Zuck for a long time, unable to regain his composure. This must have been quite a severe beating.
"The doctor said, Mr. Zuck has multiple fractures in his limbs, over ten broken ribs, internal bleeding, bruising, a broken nasal bone, and three spinal fractures. If Mr. Zuck wasn’t trained in martial arts, he probably wouldn’t have survived," the nanny said as she wiped her tears away.
"Why did you tell him, huh?" Previously asleep, Everest Zuck was awoken by the nanny’s voice. Upon seeing Yusuf Zuck, a look of panic spread across his face as he reproached her for telling Yusuf.
"If she didn’t tell me, should she have waited until you were cremated before saying anything? Hurry up, cut the nonsense, and open your mouth!" Yusuf Zuck demanded, poking his finger into Everest’s mouth without further ado.
Although Everest Zuck attempted to spit it out, he was unsuccessful because a drop of purple liquid had already quickly dissolved and was rapidly healing his injuries all over his body.
He clenched his teeth from the pain, trembling all over, and the nanny was terrified and tried to call for the doctor, but Yusuf stopped her and told her to go home and cook as he would take Everest home to have a drink soon.
The nanny was bewildered as Yusuf coaxed her out of the ward.
In less than three minutes, Yusuf broke all the plaster casts on Everest’s body and threw the hospital patient gown from the bedside at him.
"Phew—" Everest sat up abruptly, cursing, "Damn, that was uncomfortable. I almost suffocated!"
"How could you not suffocate? Couldn’t you have phoned me?" Yusuf retorted angrily.
"I was afraid you’d act rashly. Seeing how badly hurt Big Brother is, you might go after the enemies for revenge!" Everest sighed.
"Was it someone from Dragon Gate who did this?" Yusuf asked coldly.
"How did you know?" Everest was shocked.
"I knew someone from Dragon Gate had come out. But why would they beat you?" Yusuf wondered.
"Two bastards snatched a woman right in front of me in the middle of the night. You think I could let them get away with that? But... but I couldn’t save that woman." Everest suddenly broke down crying. "I don’t know what’s going on. Those people commit all sorts of crimes, but the authorities are suppressing it and not dealing with it. Do these people get to be above the law forever? It’s so suffocating!"
"Okay, okay, big bro, don’t cry," Yusuf implored, his heart sinking upon seeing Everest with tears streaming down his face.
"I’m fine. It’s just that I feel so damn unjust, plus, I don’t need you to take revenge for me. You can’t handle this affair," Everest said, wiping away his tears.
"Do you know how many people have left Dragon Gate in total?" Yusuf thought for a moment.
"Less than a hundred, probably ninety-nine!" Everest replied.
"That many?" Yusuf was astounded to find out so many had left.
"What kind of people? What rank?" Yusuf continued to inquire.
"Men and women, old and young, monks, nuns, and Taoists... Their rank... should all be above Innate, I guess. I don’t know, but those two who beat me were like beating a sandbag; I didn’t stand a chance of fighting back!"
"Isn’t the state handling this?" Yusuf asked, puzzled.
"We received orders that no one is allowed to act on their own. I’m not sure about Dragon Group."
"Are all the people who left Dragon Gate villains?"
"There are good ones too. I’ve heard a few are also in the capital, trying to stop those who commit crimes."
"I’ll make a phone call and ask." Yusuf pulled out his phone and dialed Russ Trujillo.
After a ring, Russ responded, "Brother-in-law, what’s up?"
"What do you think? What are you Dragon Group people doing?" Yusuf demanded, agitated.
"We’re negotiating," Russ whispered back.
"Negotiating? What’s there to negotiate about?" Yusuf pressed, still agitated.
"How would I know? But please, don’t get involved. You can’t afford to provoke these individuals," Russ warned.
"What rank are they, tell me," Yusuf demanded coldly.
"The majority are at the Foundation Establishment stage, but there are also a few beyond that, and only a handful are causing trouble."
"Got it. You and Felicity be careful," Yusuf Zuck cautioned.
"Yeah, you too." Russ Trujillo said before hanging up the phone.
"Foundation Establishment!" Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath, thought for a moment, and then said to Everest Zuck, "Big brother, you should go home. I need to look around. I’ve been in seclusion these past few days and am unaware of outside affairs. I need to see if my people are alright."
"Alright, but don’t stir up trouble. The authorities are handling these matters, and if you get involved, you’ll end up offending both sides!" Everest Zuck warned.
"I understand." Yusuf Zuck nodded and walked out of the hospital room, also joining a WeChat group. This was a decade-old group for brothers. Apart from Ariel Higgins, everyone else was Samuel Ross and his group.
"Is everyone okay?" Yusuf Zuck asked while walking.
"We’re all fine." A quick response came back.
"Samuel Ross, let everyone know, we’re meeting at Wengquan Mountain Villa tonight!" Yusuf Zuck thought for a moment and said.
"Everyone?" Samuel Ross asked for confirmation.
"Yeah, everyone."
"Does that include Ms. Wilcox? And what about Ember Vance?" Samuel Ross kept asking.
"Yes, all of them. Marlon Shepherd and his wife, Anna Cooke, and so on—all of them."
"Okay, I’ll notify them right away," Samuel Ross said after getting Yusuf Zuck’s confirmation and went on to inform everyone.
Yusuf Zuck wasn’t afraid of bringing all the women together. So what could scare him? He just needed to notify them.
"Also, tell them they are not allowed to be too busy. Everyone must come and be cautious on the way."
"Got it."
After getting everyone’s response, Yusuf Zuck called Dream Morrow to check how things were in Hong Kong and if there had been any trouble.
Fortunately, Hong Kong was quiet and had not descended into chaos like the mainland.
Afterward, Yusuf Zuck called Jerome Hart.
"It’s quite good here," Jerome Hart laughed. "The reason Beijing is so chaotic is probably because someone is plotting something and deliberately causing trouble. It won’t be in continual disarray!"
"You get it!" Yusuf Zuck laughed and cursed playfully.
"Let me tell you, I have a Dragon Gate Order. I plan to enter the Dragon Gate by the end of the year. I just lack one more. I wanted to take Faye Webb with me. If you have any news about the Dragon Gate Order, let me know or just buy one for me directly!"
"You have a Dragon Gate Order? Where did you get it? And why are you going to the Dragon Gate? Be careful you might not be able to return," Yusuf Zuck exclaimed in shock.
"Hehe, exploring the mysterious and unknown—don’t you find that fascinating? As for my Dragon Gate Order, my grandfather express-mailed it to me a couple of days ago. He supports my going; the Dragon Gate Order is a legacy in our clan!"
"My grandfather said that the way of harmonizing Qi originated from the Dragon Gate, and going there might lead to longevity!"
"Wen Shuai, as your brother, I don’t support you going there because I’m worried about your safety!" Yusuf Zuck said gravely.
"Thanks, but I want to go. Although I’m not interested in being immortal, I do want to grow stronger, to venture out, and to carve out a kingdom of my own."
"Alright then. I have a Dragon Gate Order, given to me by Harley Strong. I’ll bring it over to you sometime," Yusuf Zuck exhaled deeply and said.
"What about you? Haven’t you thought about going in?" Jerome Hart asked in return.
"It’s so good to be the king on Earth, besides, I have a family, women, a sister, and a father. Can I just leave them? If I can’t come back, won’t my wives become widows?"
"True, you have too many ties, unlike me, who only has Faye Webb. My grandfather isn’t even at home; he’s walking barefoot practicing medicine. The old man says he doesn’t have much time left and wants to accumulate as much good karma as possible, leading a virtuous life," Jerome Hart expounded.
"Okay, let’s not talk about it anymore. Just take care of yourself." Yusuf Zuck sighed. Jerome Hart had bigger dreams and ambitions, which was a good thing. After all, everyone lives for their dreams!.
