Invisible Security Guard
Chapter 571 - 570: Call Me Grandpa

Chapter 571: Chapter 570: Call Me Grandpa

The Wilcox Clan colluded with the Ross Family and then turned against the Tianyi Company in Los Angeles, claiming things like hostile takeovers and disrupting the financial market. Following that, the Wilcox Clan’s top brass brought the Ross Family along for negotiations.

Although Yusuf Zuck hadn’t been involved in the negotiation process, he could imagine that the Wilcox Clan had come quite haughtily. They intended to make Tianyi Company pay dearly, both in finances and in personnel.

However, unfortunately for them, young Bryson Ross colluded with Tyler Nash, which allowed Yusuf Zuck to seize something of five members of the Blood Race. It seemed that Bryson Ross’s father, Bryson Ross, knew more about him, and so when he proposed two conditions, Bryson Ross actually agreed to them both.

Twenty billion US dollars, drop all charges, and so on.

Then the high-ranking officials of the Wilcox Clan were left hanging in the capital city. The once high and mighty Wilcox Clan must have been utterly panicked by now.

Previously, Tianyi had acquired over seventy percent of the Wilcox Clan’s shares, with over twenty percent still held by members of the Wilcox Clan.

Yusuf Zuck also somewhat guessed that the Wilcox Clan wanted to retain that twenty percent of the shares, but he didn’t understand Ruth Wilcox’s intentions, so he started asking about it in the car.

"I want to ask you what you mean," Ruth Wilcox retorted.

"I don’t understand business, you tell me," Yusuf Zuck shook his head.

Ruth Wilcox thought for a moment and said, "We have no foundation in North America. Even if we occupy branch offices or dispatch senior management teams to take over Wilcox’s businesses, we will not be able to truly control Wilcox’s for the short term. This is a Clan-based family business; its management methods are different from some companies."

"Hmm, go on."

"I won’t say any more." Ruth Wilcox knew that her words were clear enough, and Yusuf Zuck, always sharp, couldn’t possibly not understand.

"Heh, I told you, you’re the boss. Whatever you want to do, go ahead, I’ll just be your companion today, okay? I promise not to interrupt," he said with a chuckle.

"They don’t want to see me; they want to see you," Ruth Wilcox said, annoyed.

"Why see me? I don’t know them, do I?" Yusuf Zuck asked, puzzled.

"You tell me? Are you the boss of Tianyi, or am I... Why do you think they want to see you?"

"What about you?" Yusuf Zuck feigned ignorance.

"Why are you so mean!" Ruth Wilcox said with a mix of laughter and helplessness.

"He’s always been this mean, Ms. Wilcox, you should beat him up!" The driver, Monk, laughed heartily.

"What does it have to do with you, shut your mouth!" Ruth Wilcox’s eyes immediately widened in glare.

Monk quickly clamped up, daring not to say another word.

The name Ms. Tiger truly was scary, including Monk, Fleur Carson, even Miles O’brien and everyone else were afraid of her.

In the past few days, Monk had been reprimanded plenty, just like Fleur Carson; if you messed up, Ms. Wilcox would take you to the office, and then you would get a lecture. You wouldn’t be able to handle the way she scolded people, so Monk was genuinely afraid of her!

"Exactly, it’s a matter between us spouses; why are you butting in? Your salary this month is deducted!" Yusuf Zuck laughed heartily.

Monk rolled his eyes silently.

"He doesn’t draw a salary from me, but his bonus is deducted. Plus, he gets a rule: no dating colleagues, no dining out on your own!" Ruth Wilcox huffed.

"Ms. Wilcox, I’m really sorry..." Monk immediately wilted. He had been seeing a cashier girl from the hotel’s front desk, and if not for the recent busyness, he would’ve already taken the opportunity to book a room with her.

"Hahaha..." Yusuf Zuck burst into laughter; Ruth Wilcox really knew how to deal with Monk.

"If you know you’re wrong, then shut your ears!" Ruth Wilcox said with a hint of smugness.

Monk swiftly pulled out a pair of headphones and put them in.

Only then did Ruth Wilcox let him off the hook.

"Just do it your way, I’ve given you full authority. You don’t need to worry about what happens to me!" Yusuf Zuck whispered quietly.

"But I’m afraid that if they go back and still play dirty tricks, it could delay the company’s strategic development and drag the company down. Then you might blame me!"

"Silly, just assign an internal inspector, like a supervision team or something. They can’t make much of a splash with just over twenty percent of the shares," Yusuf chuckled. "Besides, I don’t really care how much money the Wilcox Family brings in for me, it’s all yours anyway, you just manage it from now on."

"Alright, we’ll talk about it later." Ruth Wilcox hooked her arm through Yusuf’s arm. Yusuf Zuck was so understanding, hooking his arm was her way of rewarding him!

True to form, Yusuf was grinning from ear to ear and held onto her hand, then leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "I’ve been playing ’Monk’ these past few days..."

"Uh..." Ruth’s face instantly turned as red as an apple. This bastard, how could he say anything so brazenly?

"Don’t talk nonsense..." She pinched his waist hard.

Yusuf Zuck just grinned, feeling no pain at all.

The place for the meal was the New Century Restaurant, Ruth Wilcox’s main battlefield. Today’s lunch was probably also an important negotiation, a negotiation over wine glasses.

As Ruth Wilcox, with her arm hooked through Yusuf’s, entered the hotel, he could feel the tense atmosphere among all the staff, from security to reception. The security guards stood erect, and the greeters kept a smile on their lips. Cashiers, servers, and all the others greeted them very politely.

One had to admit, Ruth Wilcox was quite adept at training her staff.

"Why are you carrying a sword? You look like you’re about to kill someone. Can’t you let Paisley hold it for you?" Ruth complained as they walked, startled that Yusuf, the chairman, actually got out of the car carrying a sword.

"I don’t trust anyone else with this sword. I wouldn’t trade it for ten Wilcox Family companies. So, other than you, the sword is most important!"

"You’re getting better at sweet-talking." Ruth couldn’t help but both cry and laugh. Yusuf really had a way with words.

When they finally entered the restaurant, the male restaurant manager came over to greet them immediately.

"Director Zuck, Ms. Wilcox, the guests have already arrived. All the dishes, as per your instructions, are ready. We have three types of wines, and, Mr. Shepherd and Assistant Kirk are here, they are currently talking with the guests."

"Hmm, add an egg custard, I forgot it earlier," Ruth thought aloud and requested.

Yusuf just smiled, after all the person inside was her grandfather, so while her grandfather and her family could be hard on her, she couldn’t quite bring herself to be tough on her grandfather.

In fact, this was what Yusuf appreciated about her; a woman without any sense of family, regardless of her success in business, would lack humanity.

The restaurant manager pushed open the door, and thereafter Ruth Wilcox entered, arm in arm with Yusuf.

As they walked in, they saw about sixteen or seventeen people sitting inside, all of whom turned to look at them.

Marlon Shepherd and Paisley Kirk stood up, and then all the Wilcox Clan members also stood up.

"Let me introduce everyone, this is Yusuf Zuck from Tianyi Investment, Chairman Zuck," announced Marlon Shepherd proactively.

An elderly man in his seventies, looking very spirited, briskly walked out. He extended both hands, shaking hands with Yusuf Zuck very politely.

"Chairman Zuck, I’ve heard of you for a long time. I’m Arturo Wilcox..." As he said this, the old Mr. Wilcox smiled slightly and added, "I’m Ruth’s grandfather."

According to convention, since Yusuf Zuck was dating his granddaughter, he should call the grandfather ’grandfather’ when they met. Therefore, with his words, Mr. Wilcox set a trap for Yusuf; if Yusuf did call him grandfather, it would likely mean all negotiations could be settled that day.

However, what Arturo Wilcox didn’t realize was that Yusuf Zuck was a sly fox, who knew how to speak to each according to their understanding; on top of that, his skin was impenetrably thick.

"Ah, so you’re Ruth’s grandfather! Hello, hello, I’m Yusuf Zuck. I’ve always wanted to visit you, truly sorry for that, so very sorry!" Yusuf, that cunning man, had actually started calling him ’grandfather.’

Everyone was taken aback, including Ruth Wilcox, who was stunned for a moment. She didn’t understand which act Yusuf was playing out.

Under normal circumstances, Yusuf should have addressed him as Mr. Wilcox, but like one who plays the fool, he started calling him grandfather seemingly without a second thought.

But Yusuf Zuck had his own plans!
