Chapter 551: Chapter 550: The Village Families
Yusuf Zuck was analyzing that mysterious person lurking in the shadows, while the mysterious person Ty Meskill was also analyzing Yusuf Zuck.
He didn’t dare to get too close to the Nash family estate, because the current central sea was rampant with Demons and ghosts. He believed that not only did many extraordinary people come to this place from the martial world, but perhaps that freak from the Dragon Group had come as well.
Therefore, he didn’t dare to show his face, or even reveal his identity. In fact, he hadn’t even stayed in a hotel these past few days.
He wasn’t what one would call a virtuous person; after all, he had cultivated a body of Sorcery and even had past grudges with the Dragon Group.
"With Yusuf Zuck possessing such a vast Divine Sense, behind him there must be a supremely powerful being." Ty Meskill’s eyelids twitched. Actually, before Tyler Nash returned to the central sea, he didn’t agree with it because the time wasn’t right. It’s just that Tyler Nash’s eyes were blinded by hatred, and if Yusuf Zuck wasn’t killed, he feared he would go into a demonic frenzy!
No, he had already gone into a demonic frenzy.
Of course, the reason he agreed to help Tyler Nash was that he wanted to try stirring up the stagnant waters of the Chinese land, seizing the opportunity to slay his sworn enemy.
Meanwhile, in the central sea, within the military district, Devin King was massaging his temples. He had led a team to the central sea because too many people had come here, and so, if the situation became uncontrollable, the Dragon Group would have to intervene.
However, the team leader hadn’t come because the leader had to be stationed in Kyoto.
He had just received news that continuous gunfire was coming from the Nash home, but what exactly had happened inside was unknown.
He knew that Yusuf Zuck had come to the central sea and would inevitably clash with Tyler Nash, while the team leader meant for him to not act rashly. For the central sea was currently harboring a great calamity, and the Dragon Group members he brought with him, including himself, Devin King, were no match for that great calamity.
The team leader only told him to watch for changes and to wait for his command at all times.
"Boss King, at least ten people from Heaven have come, entering the central sea and disappearing without a trace. Our people can’t find where they are," Whitley Ortiz, the intelligence unit leader, had also come, and at this moment, she was looking troubled. The central sea was too chaotic now; they couldn’t control it anymore. There were too many Demons and ghosts, and they couldn’t wrap them up even if they wanted to!
"Heaven is aimed at Yusuf Zuck, but they should also be near the Nash family. Heaven’s people are cunning, they won’t show themselves until the critical moment," Devin King said with a cold laugh.
"But we don’t have enough manpower, the ordinary police and military can’t handle these people anymore. What did the team leader say?" Whitley Ortiz asked worriedly.
"How would I know? The team leader only ordered us to stand by, he said nothing else," Devin King replied irritably.
Whitley Ortiz was left speechless...
"Dawn is breaking, go rest for a while, it will quiet down after the sun rises," Devin King waved his hand, the eastern sky was already showing the white of fish bellies; it was just past three in the morning and already daylight.
"I can’t sleep." Whitley Ortiz not only didn’t leave but sat down with a plop, also complaining, "It’s all Yusuf Zuck’s fault, and that androgyne too. If only we capture the androgyne, the central sea will quiet down."
"He has already started practicing Fasting, and if we make a move to capture him, that would be helping Yusuf Zuck. Besides, can we even capture him? So, no, he can’t be touched. I feel that the team leader means that a very powerful figure is standing behind this Tyler Nash, immensely powerful!"
"So we just let them create a ruckus?" Whitley Ortiz said angrily.
"Let them make noise. It’s good since all the monsters and evil spirits have revealed themselves. We can lock onto the targets and catch them all in one swoop."
"Where’s the net? We only came with ten people ourselves, our net is too small for the number and size of the fish out there, we can’t catch them all," Whitley Ortiz complained with a headache.
"Wait for the team leader’s message; I believe the team leader has a strategy."
"Boss King, is the team leader male or female, old or young? We’ve never seen him, how strong is he?" Whitley Ortiz asked curiously.
"I don’t know, but he stays in the capital. All the high-level experts of the Chinese land don’t dare to go to the capital. Even Heaven’s major figures don’t dare to enter the country. I really don’t know how powerful he truly is."
"I heard he could take you out in one move?"
"Now, I fear half a move would be enough to take me out..."
"So call him over here. He could swiftly and easily wipe them all out!" Whitley Ortiz said excitedly.
"If he leaves, who will take charge of the capital?" Devin King said angrily, "A national treasure can’t be misused!"
"Fine, fine. Then let us deal with this headache!" Whitley Ortiz felt helpless, as calling the Dragon Group leader a national treasure was no exaggeration because he was much too powerful.
"Ring ring ring~" Just as Whitley Ortiz and Devin King were at a loss for words, the red phone on the desk suddenly rang.
This red phone is an internal line, which doesn’t go through any public carriers like China Unicom or China Mobile, but instead uses military channels. The only person who knows this number is the team leader.
Devin King took a deep breath, then immediately grabbed the phone.
"Drive to the West Lake area of Hangzhou City right now. There’s a ’Villagers’ Home’ farm and fishing village there. Head over immediately," the person on the phone said, his voice deep and indistinguishable in age, but it was certainly a man’s because it sounded neutral.
"What am I going there for?" Devin King asked, confused.
"To eat fish."
With a "click", the phone hung up. Devin King and Whitley Ortiz, who had been all ears, looked at each other in dismay. Eat fish? What fish?
"The Central Sea area is yours to take care of. Mainly control the intelligence, don’t act recklessly, and wait for my message at all times," Devin King hastily instructed before leaving with his bag in a hurry.
Devin King left in a van, a plain vehicle with regular license plates, and he himself looked like a nouveau riche, carrying a bag like a little boss.
The Central Sea is very close to Hangzhou, just over an hour’s drive away.
Since the team leader didn’t give a specific address, Devin King could only search around the West Lake.
It was just past ten in the morning when a fishing village with a sign that read ’Villagers’ Home’ came into view!
"Found it!" Devin King was ecstatic and drove directly into the courtyard.
It was an ordinary farm stay, with several tables of tourists waiting for the kitchen to serve food. The landlady doubled as the waitress and the chef, with a big pot set up in the yard, stewing a large carp from West Lake.
Devin King looked around the yard. The guests at the tables all seemed to be tourists, nothing out of the ordinary. The cook in the kitchen appeared to be the owner—this husband and wife seemed to be just ordinary people. The landlady was unsurprising, and the owner was dark-skinned, looking like a fisherman.
"Ma’am, I want to ask, are there any other guests here?" Devin King approached the landlady, who was stewing the fish.
"No more, who are you looking for?" The landlady was tending the firewood and didn’t even lift her head.
"I... I’m here to eat fish!" Devin King gritted his teeth, "Give me a fish, two bowls of rice, and half a pound of liquor!" Since the team leader asked him to eat fish, that’s what he would do. He hadn’t eaten since last night and was really hungry.
"Just a moment, it will be ready soon..." The landlady raised her head, wiped her hands with her apron, and then wiped the table for Devin King with a cloth. Her hands were full of cracks, clearly from years of farm work.
Devin King thought his eyesight was quite good, so after looking left and right, he didn’t see anyone suspicious.
Before long, the fish was served, and other tables started to eat. The owner finished cooking, then also made a bowl of rice, soaked it in fish soup, and began to wolf it down at the doorway.
Devin King ate slowly, drank slowly, and kept watching the people coming and going from the yard.
A little after twelve, when the few tables were full and had gone on to continue their sightseeing, the yard suddenly became quiet. Devin King waited. Since the team leader had called him here, there must be some purpose to it.
By two in the afternoon, after having slowly chewed every fishbone on his plate and having drunk a whole two pounds of liquor, he still hadn’t waited for anyone to show up.
However, he noticed something different: both the owner and his wife had changed their clothes. The man was wearing a Zhongshan suit that seemed to have been washed many times, complete with a small patch. The woman had changed into a floral dress and seemed to have plucked her eyebrows and painted her lips, like a couple about to head to town for a fair!
"What’s the matter, closing up shop?" Devin King stood up to pay.
"We are going out," the owner said, standing in front of Devin King with a somewhat uncomfortable and restrained expression.
"How much do I owe?" Devin King sighed.
"Not much, just write us a cheque for one million, and if you don’t have a cheque, you can pay us when we get back!"
Devin King almost choked, but he also had a sudden jolt of realization.
"You... What do you mean?" Devin King looked at the fisherman couple.
"Aren’t you here to pick us up for Central Sea? We’ve got our clothes on and are just waiting for you. You’ve sure taken your time eating," the landlady said, rolling her eyes at him.
"Ah... Oh—" Devin King’s mouth hung open wide enough to fit a goose egg, and his face showed utter disbelief.
