Chapter 533: Chapter 532: The Secret of Dragon Gate

"What have you been doing these days? Why can’t I reach you on the phone?" In a tea house, Yusuf Zuck met with Devin King again. It was Yusuf who had initiated the meetup today because he wanted to ask about the Dragon Gate Order.

"Making money to support the family, man. I don’t have a steady job, unlike you government types with your guaranteed monthly salaries for doing nothing. I don’t have that luxury!"

"Pffft—" Devin King spat out his tea at Yusuf’s remark and glared back with wide eyes, "How about we switch places, then? You become me, and I become you?"

"I’ll pass..." Yusuf chuckled.

"So, what do you want with me today?" Devin asked Yusuf bluntly.

"What’s the meaning of the Dragon Gate Order? Have the guys from Heaven been driven off yet?" Yusuf asked directly.

"Those sons of turtles from Heaven ran off fast. Except for the one live catch you helped us make, the rest got away!" Devin cursed, "Those bastards, one day I’m going to wipe them out."

"And the Dragon Gate Order? What does it mean? Is it a treasure or something?"

"Heh heh, you really wanna know?" Devin King raised an eyebrow, "As far as I know, the Emei Sect had one, which surely isn’t in your hands now, is it?"

"So what if it’s in my hands? All of Emei now belongs to me," Yusuf said impatiently.

"It’s a good thing," Devin King lowered his voice, "The Dragon Gate Order is connected to a huge secret."

"Go on, no need to whisper. No one’s eavesdropping here, and I won’t blab," Yusuf gestured for Devin to continue.

"Alright, since you helped us capture a Marcus Escobar, I’ll tell you." Devin King smiled mysteriously, "The Dragon Gate is a gateway. To enter the Dragon Gate, one must have the Dragon Gate Order. Only the person holding the Token can enter the Dragon Gate."

"What does that mean? Be more specific," Yusuf frowned.

"It traces back to an ancient legend," Devin King pondered, "we, the people of Huaxia, claim to be descendants of the dragon. But do you know why we’re called the dragon’s descendants?"

"That..." Hearing Devin’s words, Yusuf thought for a moment and said, "Isn’t the dragon a symbol of power, an emblem? Ancient Emperors were called ’True Dragon Emperors’ and the like."

"Bullshit. Let me tell you, we’re called descendants of the dragon because there’s a legend that we all come from the Dragon Gate. Since we emerged from the Dragon Gate, we’re naturally the dragon’s descendants!"

"Uh...who the hell came up with that?" Yusuf laughed.

"Never mind who came up with that crap, but there is such a legend, and there really is a Dragon Gate."

"Is there someone inside the Dragon Gate? Is it a cave or something?" Yusuf asked curiously.

"I’m not too clear on the specifics since I’ve never been there, but legend has it that it’s a realm of immortals. Once you enter, you’ll receive the true heritage of the dragon."

"Of course, some say that there are treasures inside the Dragon Gate. Others claim that it’s actually an ancient tomb, filled not only with countless riches but also with ancient methods of cultivation handed down from the past."

"Some even say that it’s actually a world of its own."

"Then there’s the legend of a group of people living inside, our ancestors from Huaxia. They’re said to manipulate everything in the outside world, managing the order of cultivation in the world of Huaxia. It’s rumored that occasionally someone comes out, taking some people away or killing others."

"So your Dragon Group doesn’t know the real story? Which rumor is true?" Yusuf said, his tone laced with intrigue.

"It’s definitely true that there are people inside, and it’s also true that people have come out. Our Dragon Group’s secret scrolls record six instances over different years, when someone emerged and took away several extraordinary individuals."

"You need to be careful, someone might come looking for you one day, and then they’ll want to take you away."

"I’d spit in his face, take me away? He should take a look in the mirror first," Yusuf Zuck cursed loudly.

"Haha, the certain news we’ve received is that on the last day of this year, the Dragon Gate will open, and at that time, those holding a Token will be able to enter without any other conditions."

"In the past, even if you had the Dragon Gate Order, you couldn’t enter, or else the Dragon Gate Order wouldn’t be scattered everywhere. Now, the intel suggests that on December 31st, those holding the Dragon Gate Order can enter the Dragon Gate."

"What do you think? Do you want to go in and have a look? I managed to get a few, and the team leader wants me to scout out what demons and monsters are inside. How about we pair up?"

"Where is the Dragon Gate?" Yusuf Zuck pondered.

"Chongqing, Dragon Head Mountain. The exact location remains unclear, but it’s definitely on Dragon Head Mountain. As for the exact spot of the Dragon Gate, we’ve yet to figure it out."

"Heh, you go ahead, I’m not interested, that’s that, I’m off!" Yusuf Zuck chuckled and stood up. Dragon Gate, pig gate—he didn’t care. He’d made a fortune now and possessed high abilities; he could virtually do anything he wanted in this world. He wouldn’t risk venturing into that mysterious and dangerous place. If he got in and couldn’t get out, it would be terrible. So, dead or alive, he wouldn’t go.

"Wait, wait, give me another drop of that Potion... you promised," Devin King stood up and said.

"Sure, how should I give it?" Yusuf Zuck agreed without hesitation.

"Come with me to a place, let’s go." Devin King took Yusuf Zuck by the arm and walked out.

Yusuf Zuck had driven here in his new BMW, and Devin King was still in his military vehicle. After half an hour’s drive, they actually entered the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

After that, he was taken into a military restricted zone. Even his car was left outside. After various scanning and searches confirmed even the coins on him were taken, he proceeded with Devin King into a building.

The building was full of high-tech equipment, much more sophisticated than a bank’s security system. Every doorway required password verification, facial recognition, and even disinfection.

After zigzagging and going down what felt like dozens of floors in the elevator, the doors opened and Yusuf Zuck saw a familiar face—it was that major, what’s her name, Whitley Ortiz, looking particularly dashing in her military uniform.

"I’ll brief you on the rules of this place now, and you’d better remember them," Whitley Ortiz said coldly, "From this moment onward, everything you see after walking out of here must be forgotten, forcibly forgotten, and you must not mention it to anyone."

"From now on, you can only stay by my side, do not wander off. I can make it clear that trespassers will encounter unexpected attacks, so watch your step."

"And one last thing, the research personnel will question you, and you should answer whatever you know."

"Hold on a second, wait a minute!" Yusuf Zuck interrupted her, frowning, "I’m just here to deliver the Potion; why should I answer whatever someone else asks? Boss King, what’s the meaning of this?"

"Hehe, Yusuf, don’t misunderstand." Devin King said with a smile, "Actually, it’s for your own good. We have a lab here; don’t you want to discover the secrets within your body? For instance, how strong your punch is, how much force you can withstand, and so on. After the experiments here, you’ll get the answers."

"As for what the scientists might ask you, just say what you can and keep quiet about what you can’t. We also want to understand how you got your magical abilities; it’s a research topic that we have specialists studying."

"Heh, we’ll see about that, but don’t force me into anything I don’t want to do. Your defenses here might be great, and you have various ways to attack, but if I want out, I can get out. Don’t try to provoke me!" Yusuf Zuck was feeling like he’d boarded a thief’s ship. These people didn’t just want his Potion; they wanted to run a full gamut of tests on him.

In plain terms, they wanted to uncover how he acquired his abilities: Invisible, jump, Telekinesis controls, and the like!
