Chapter 423: Chapter 422: Donald Meskill’s Single Sword

Everest Zuck didn’t sleep tonight because the recent incident involving Yusuf Zuck had left him restless. After all, they had become fast friends, so he was genuinely concerned about Yusuf’s personal safety.

In the capital, he had some influence, and he knew some people in the relevant departments as well as a few wealthy individuals, but compared to the power of the Meskill family, his influence was negligible. The Meskills probably didn’t even know who he was.

So, he was at a loss as to how to help Yusuf.

Even though it was 2 a.m., he still sat in his study, restlessly paging through a book, feeling as if his spirit was wandering beyond the heavens.

As for Jerome Hart, not long after he returned earlier, he fell asleep rather quickly.

In fact, he found the relationship between Jerome and Faye Webb quite interesting. Jerome had taken two arrows for Faye in Ulanqab, and it was those two arrows that caused Faye’s feminine tenderness to erupt.

How should I put it? The two kids were young, and after spending a lot of time together, it was natural for feelings to develop.

However, Faye was also in a turmoil because Jerome getting shot had seemingly confirmed her self-deprecating belief that she was a "jinx," bad luck to those close to her. No sooner had Jerome treated her nicely than she felt she had brought harm upon him.

But she couldn’t bear to be without Jerome, so these days Faye was unhappy, unsure of what to do next.

Jerome Hart, on the other hand, was quite laissez-faire, completely unconcerned about Faye’s supposed fate. He and Everest had talked a lot, and he truly had fallen for Faye.

After mulling over these thoughts for quite some time, Everest chuckled wryly and shook his head. At his age, rest was a necessity, even if it was just for a few hours. So he forced himself to try and sleep to ensure he had enough energy and strength.

However, just as he left the study and was walking towards his room, a loud ’bang’ erupted from his courtyard!

"Whoosh—whoosh—" Faye Webb ran out in her pajamas, while Jerome Hart charged out of another room wearing nothing but his boxers!

"What happened?" The three of them quickly went downstairs, and through the light of the hallway, they saw a person, a young man standing on top of the brand-new red Ferrari with a sword in his hand.

Of course, the roof of the car was dented and all the window glass was shattered!

"Damn it, you’ll pay for this!" Jerome cursed loudly. That was Yusuf’s car, and he had just brought it back. Now it was **** wrecked. How was he supposed to reimburse for it? The sports car was worth several million!

He found a jacket on the first floor, slipped on some sandals, and rushed outside while Faye went upstairs to change.

But... at that moment, Everest’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably. Judging from the deformed car roof, the damage must have been caused by the force of the teenager’s leap and crouch.

How strong must this young man be? Surely, the car wasn’t made of paper!

Everest followed Jerome out the door.

"Kid, I don’t care who you are, but you must reimburse me with a new car, or this isn’t over. Don’t **** pose and act all high and mighty," Jerome smartly maintained his distance. Though he had charged out, he didn’t rush into a fight, because he knew his own limits. If he did engage, he feared he’d be taken out with one move. Instead, he stood about ten meters away, shouting loudly.

"Who are you?" Everest pulled Jerome behind him, sizing up Donald Meskill.

"Everest Zuck, right? Could you tell me, where is Yusuf Zuck? Why doesn’t he dare to show himself? Could it be that he’s a coward hiding in his shell?" Donald Meskill spoke while observing the movements inside the villa. He didn’t take Jerome’s loud complaints seriously because, in his eyes, Jerome was too weak to warrant his interest in raising a hand against.

"Are you a Meskill family member?" Everest Zuck frowned and shouted, "Even the Meskill family must obey the law. You break into a home in the middle of the night and destroy a car. Do you think your family is above the law?" Everest Zuck was filled with righteous indignation, his voice especially loud. Given his position within the relevant department and his public office role, he was not afraid of how the Meskill family might react, especially since he had not offended them!

"Heh, I won’t quibble with you. Call Yusuf Zuck out!"

"Yusuf Zuck isn’t here!" Faye Webb, dressed in a leather jacket, walked out and coldly said to Donald Meskill, "I’ve already called the police!"

"The lady is quite beautiful!" Donald Meskill said surprisingly cheerfully, his eyes lighting up because at that moment, Faye Webb appeared dashing and extraordinary in bearing.

"Kid, what the hell are you doing?" Jerome Hart shouted angrily after hearing Donald Meskill’s words, his fists clenched tightly.

"You’d better not come any closer to me. My sword doesn’t recognize strangers." Donald Meskill looked at Jerome Hart with mockery before turning to Faye Webb, "I don’t like beautiful women lying. Yusuf Zuck, won’t you come out now? I’ll give you five seconds. If you don’t show up, I’ll kill these three... kill the two of them, and keep the beautiful lady!" Donald Meskill said with a smile.

"Yusuf Zuck isn’t here, you’ve got the wrong place!" Everest Zuck became extremely alarmed inside. The young man, who seemed harmless, exuded a great aura of murder, so when he spoke of killing him and Jerome Hart, Everest feared he would indeed carry out the act.

"Not here?" Donald Meskill paused for a moment, then laughed again, "Whose car is this then?"

"You freaking idiot. Just because his car is here, does the person have to be here too?" Jerome Hart cursed.

A sudden unease gripped Donald Meskill’s heart, and his expression quickly turned grim as he commanded, "Search!"

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh—" Twelve figures leapt out of the darkness, entering like martens—some charging through the main entrance, others jumping to various windows, back doors, and the like, directly breaking and entering.

Everest Zuck’s anger had subsided; he knew that no matter how angry he got, he couldn’t deal with these people. Each of them was a top-notch expert, and just one could kill all three of them!

Soon, the twelve who had jumped in leapt back out. Alvin Escobar spoke in a deep voice, "No, he’s not here."

"Where is he? Who drove this car here?" Donald Meskill felt as if he was being played with. They had prepared a grandiose, fail-proof plan, only to find the person wasn’t even here in the end!

It was their complacency—assuming that just because of a car, the person would be there—that led to their planning error!

"I drove it here. What about it?" Jerome Hart said coldly. "A bunch of idiots, not even knowing who drove the car but still freaking coming here to kill? That’s really funny!"

With a "buzz," as soon as his words fell, suddenly, Donald Meskill made his move. No one saw how his sword came out of its sheath, but when it fiercely struck down, a blast of air created a sharp hissing sound.

With a "bang," Jerome Hart couldn’t dodge the sword. Everest Zuck was also too late to come to the rescue, so Jerome Hart was knocked backward by the powerful Sword Qi, spitting blood as he flew through the air. His chest was drenched in fresh blood.

He fell to the ground, spewing blood in great gouts.

"Wen Shuai!"

"You, lawless!" Everest Zuck said furiously.

"This is just a little punishment. But please, tell me where he is. You have five seconds. If you don’t speak up, I wouldn’t mind giving him another sword strike, sending him straight to meet the King of Hell!" Donald Meskill seemed to measure his actions carefully, as that sword strike had not fully taken Jerome Hart’s life, but Jerome was now hanging on by half a thread.
