Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Arrival in Japan
New Year was approaching, and the joyful atmosphere of reunion permeated the vast land of China. The "New Year" is what the Chinese care about most; many people’s hard work throughout the year is actually for this "New Year".
Whether it was Samuel Ross, Jerome Hart and the others, or Miles O’Brien and her group, they were all meticulously preparing, because this gathering was also the last one before the end of the year, as advocated by Yusuf Zuck, so it would definitely be bustling when the time came.
Moreover, Sara Zuck had called, saying she had returned and would also attend, so this was a reunion dinner indeed.
However, what they did not know was that at this moment, Yusuf Zuck was squatting in the chilly luggage compartment, gnawing on dry bread and drinking mineral water.
No one knew he had left, no one knew how awful Yusuf Zuck’s mood was at the time.
Ember Vance had had an accident, and it was uncertain whether she would wake up; Big Brother was dead, and he had offended many, many people.
This year, he had experienced great ups and downs, with great joy and great sorrow. So honestly, he just couldn’t feel happy; too many things were pressing down on him, leaving him feeling suffocated!
At seven in the evening, when everyone gathered at Dong Lai Shun, and after the group was complete, they called Yusuf Zuck and were shocked to find that he had turned off his phone.
Everyone was a bit dumbfounded – Yusuf Zuck had disappeared again!
...
On the night of January 12, Yusuf Zuck appeared at Tokyo International Airport, and standing with him was Ariel Higgins.
That’s right, Yusuf Zuck got off the plane, Ariel Higgins got off the plane, and when Yusuf Zuck came out of the restroom, he happened to see Ariel Higgins walking forward gracefully with her luggage in tow.
Ariel Higgins was too dazzling, her cheongsam making her exceptionally elegant and receiving many second glances, so Yusuf Zuck saw her inadvertently, and she saw him too.
"I don’t remember seeing you on the plane," they said to each other after bumping into one another and then walked forward together.
"That’s because you didn’t notice me!" Yusuf Zuck replied indifferently.
"Big Brother said you’re quite remarkable, and now I’ve finally seen it," Ariel Higgins said, though she was curious, she did not inquire further.
Yusuf Zuck did not answer her, but after a moment’s thought, he said, "Since you’re here too, I’ll leave what comes next to you."
Ariel Higgins continued walking without speaking, and Yusuf Zuck walked alongside her.
When they left the terminal building, a stout little figure ran over, waving at Ariel Higgins as he did.
"Miss Ariel Higgins, we meet again!" The stout figure, although he looked and acted like a Japanese, was actually a genuine Chinese, speaking fluent Chinese.
"Let’s go," Ariel Higgins said with a light nod before explaining softly to Yusuf Zuck, "His name is Spencer Reeves. He was the one who hosted our company trip to Hokkaido a few years back, a Chinese national living in Japan!"
Spencer Reeves drove a car over, and once they were in, he took the initiative to say, "Miss Higgins, I’ve looked into the matter you asked about. The bodies are in the morgue of Chiyoda Hospital in the Chiyoda district, and I have also contacted a relevant lawyer, scheduled to meet at eight o’clock tomorrow morning!"
"Thank you, that’s good," Ariel Higgins nodded in acknowledgment.
"It’s my duty," Spencer Reeves nodded repeatedly. The gang-related shootout that had occurred in Tokyo had become major news, reported by Japan’s largest media, Asahi Shimbun, and diplomatic departments of both countries were in negotiations, given that people like Lucy Clayton had entered the country on Chinese passports.
Yusuf Zuck did not understand any of it, he just listened with both ears.
Spencer Reeves dropped them off at a five-star hotel in the Chiyoda district. The room had been booked in advance, but there was only one.
Ariel Higgins did not take the initiative to ask for another room, and Yusuf Zuck, not wanting to reveal his identity, followed Ariel Higgins and stayed in the same room.
They skipped dinner, although Spencer Reeves insisted on treating them, but Yusuf Zuck and Ariel Higgins were not in the mood.
"What do you plan to do?" In the room, Ariel Higgins filled a glass of wine and drank gently by herself.
"First, I’ll help cremate their bodies, collect their ashes, and ensure your safe departure," Zuck said.
Ariel Higgins frowned, "I don’t need you to worry about me; I want to know what you are planning to do next!"
Yusuf Zuck shook his head, "There isn’t much of a plan. First, I don’t know where the enemy is, and second, I don’t speak the language."
"Do you know who the enemy is?" Ariel Higgins asked.
"Black Dragon Club!" Yusuf Zuck scoffed, "The man who went to China is a member of the Black Dragon Club, and since Lucy Clayton came here to investigate Bud Trujillo, who is linked to the Black Dragon Club, it must be them."
"Your analysis is correct; it seems you did not come here blindly. That reassures me somewhat," Ariel Higgins gave Yusuf Zuck a look. His logical analysis was right, which meant Yusuf Zuck’s journey to Japan for vengeance for Lucy Clayton wasn’t just to placate her; he came prepared.
"Actually, I’m worried about you. Once everything is settled, you should leave immediately," Yusuf Zuck heaved a sigh. He didn’t want this kind and righteous woman to come to harm in Tokyo.
Ariel Higgins just smiled, nodded in thanks, then continued, "I know where to find them!" After she finished speaking, she suddenly took out a piece of paper from her suitcase, with two lines of silk-embroidered handwriting, a Chinese-Japanese translation: Tokyo Metropolis, Setagaya Ward, Ryukawa Avenue, No. 89.
This was an address!
"What do you mean by this?" Yusuf Zuck was curious about what Ariel Higgins had done before; she also knew it was the Black Dragon Club’s doing and had even found an address for them!
"This is the site of a martial arts legacy known as Ono Itto-ryu in Japan. While there are many Itto-ryu, the head of this particular Ono Itto-ryu is a high-ranking member of the Black Dragon Club!"
"How do you know about this?" Yusuf Zuck asked quizzically.
Ariel Higgins took a sip of wine, "Lucy mentioned it. During the days he was in Japan, he kept in touch with me daily, and from the information he gathered, Bud Trujillo was often seen there."
"Understood, I will go!" Yusuf Zuck nodded.
Ariel Higgins gave Yusuf Zuck a deep look, "Thank you."
The two stopped talking; Yusuf Zuck sat by the window looking out, while Ariel Higgins just kept drinking, one glass after another.
Yusuf Zuck didn’t stop her; he actually hoped she would get drunk.
Unfortunately, she didn’t get drunk. After three bottles, she began to wipe away tears by herself, crying but continuing to drink.
At three in the morning, she eventually fell asleep while drinking, and Yusuf Zuck did not heed her or even cover her with a blanket.
And so it was, until dawn when Spencer Reeves called. Ariel Higgins instantly sobered up, and Yusuf Zuck also stood up.
Spencer Reeves brought a Japanese lawyer, who he translated for, explaining that to retrieve the bodies of Lucy Clayton and others, a security deposit was required, and they needed to proceed to the police station for the paperwork. They also had to notify Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Chinese Embassy in Japan, among others. In short, the process was quite complicated, and it would take at least three days to complete. Additionally, the lawyer’s fees were very high.
"Can I see the body first?" Ariel Higgins asked. The procedures would take days, but she wanted to see Lucy Clayton right away.
"Yes," said the lawyer, nodding, before speaking at length in Japanese. Spencer Reeves translated that the normal procedure indeed started with identifying the deceased to confirm that it was your relative before you could proceed with other paperwork.
"Then let’s go to the hospital." The four of them immediately headed to the hospital.
