Ruth Wilcox did not press Yusuf Zuck for details, because she had long known that he was out of the ordinary.

Yusuf shifted gears and sped toward the hospital.

About an hour later, at the entrance of Ditan Hospital, Miles O’Brien took over Raelyn Petty, as Yusuf had arranged over a last-minute call, while Yusuf met Ariel Higgins in the hospital’s stairwell.

At the sight of Ariel, Yusuf got quite a shock; she had lost a lot of weight and looked utterly listless!

"Mr. Zuck, please look at this excerpt from a Japanese newspaper cover that I downloaded from the internet," Ariel handed over a printed color paper.

After taking it, Yusuf gently unfolded the paper and then saw a photo of a decapitated body. Although the photo was a profile, Yusuf immediately recognized it as Lucy Clayton.

But the text was all in Japanese, which he could barely read.
