Chapter 323: Telekinesis Collision
Chapter 323: Chapter 323: Telekinesis Collision
Under the heavens, there are countless remarkable and extraordinary individuals, and David Hart is one such person from among the common folk.
He had mastered traditional Chinese medical techniques and the art of the Silver Needle to perfection. If it were not for his blindness, this man could have been a legendary healer.
One hour after he entered the ward, laughter was heard from inside—the overjoyed laughter of Yusuf Zuck—and the Vance Family rushed in as well.
Ember Vance had not awoken, but... but... her brain activity had started to fluctuate. With just one needle, David Hart had revived the blood flow in Ember Vance’s brain.
That’s right, someone who was brain dead actually showed brainwaves.
This is a miracle among humankind.
Of course, whether or not Ember Vance will awake, and when, would require further treatment. David Hart had merely activated the oxygen supply to Ember’s brain with a single needle, setting her blood in motion and creating brain activity.
"There’s nothing more I can do now. Her injuries are too severe; she needs pharmaceutical intervention and a consultation with neurological experts. Yusuf, you must be prepared," David Hart said as he patted Yusuf Zuck’s shoulder because he and Yusuf both understood that reviving Ember’s blood could only maintain her life signs. Whether she would wake up was still unknown.
But with life signs, there is greater hope.
The entire hospital began to buzz with activity, and the Vance Family pulled strings and sought help by inviting experts in brain science over, while Yusuf Zuck, after seeing off David Hart, headed straight to Taiyuan by night and then took a car to Mount Wutai.
At two o’clock in the dead of night, Yusuf Zuck and Everest Zuck were picked up by a local friend in Taiyuan. The local friend was very enthusiastic and wanted to take them to rest and eat, but was politely refused by Everest. Afterwards, the two only took a car, driven by Yusuf, and continued towards Mount Wutai.
At eight o’clock in the morning on January 3rd, they arrived at the so-called Lingyun Temple.
In fact, there are many temples on Mount Wutai, and Lingyun Temple is just one of them, not very famous—it’s just an ordinary place of Buddhism.
Everest Zuck seemed to come here often, so he confidently led Yusuf Zuck into Lingyun Temple, where they were received by the host monk.
"Layman Zhang, your skills of divination have improved once again!" the hospitable monk said to Everest Zuck in the guest reception room next to the Main Hall.
Monks in the temple nowadays do not solely rely on simple meals anymore and are not as ascetic as before. The word "monk" even became a profession for a time, with high salaries, that only highly educated people could pursue.
The elderly host was not very old, in his fifties, not tall, and wore a very ordinary blue robe, smiling all the while he spoke.
"Is the master really here?" Everest Zuck asked excitedly.
The host monk chuckled, "He returned three days ago. The master said a distinguished guest would come in the next couple of days, and then you arrived. The master is in the Dharma Hall."
"Haha, I never expected to meet him again. This is not my divination skills, but the master’s. However, I have urgent matters to discuss with the master, so please, take me to him."
"Alright, Mr. Zhang, please wait here," the host said to Yusuf Zuck, joining his hands respectfully.
Everest Zuck patted Yusuf Zuck’s shoulder, for he had explained on the way that Master Isaiah Fowler never met with strangers and turned away anyone new without exception. Therefore, he would first go to meet the master and then make a request for Yusuf to meet him as well.
Yusuf Zuck expressed his understanding and then sat alone in the guest reception room, sipping tea.
The host monk led Everest Zuck past the Main Hall, through the pagoda grove, until finally, they arrived at the Dharma Hall, which was also a place for practice.
The Dharma Hall was a separate courtyard. Long ago, monks in Lingyun Temple practiced Chan meditation there, but over the years, no monks were doing Chan practice in the hall anymore, and it had been given to Master Isaiah Fowler for his solitary use. When the master was traveling, only a few novice monks would clean the hall, and when he returned, he would reside there.
The host monk brought Everest Zuck into the courtyard, a place of profound silence, with a thin layer of freshly fallen snow covering it. Yes, it was snowing gently, so the courtyard had not been swept yet.
As the two of them entered the courtyard and approached the entrance to the main hall, the host monk stopped with Everest Zuck, and with a smile announced, "Reverend great-uncle, Layman Zhang has arrived."
"Everest Zuck?" A powerful voice resonated from the main hall.
"Senior, it’s me." Everest Zuck bowed in the direction of the main hall as he greeted.
"It shouldn’t be you..." Monk Isaiah Fowler within grew puzzled for a moment, and then asked, "Du Yi, is Everest Zuck the only visitor I have today?"
"No, Master Zuck has brought a friend with him." Du Yi said, quite perplexed.
"That’s it, then. You two go out, and ask the other person to come in, no one else should enter!" The voice of Monk Isaiah Fowler came from inside suddenly.
"Ah..." The abbot and Everest Zuck were both flabbergasted, the abbot having assumed the distinguished guest was Everest Zuck and Everest Zuck also believed he was Monk Isaiah Fowler’s distinguished guest.
But hearing Monk Isaiah Fowler’s words, how could he, Everest Zuck, be seen as a distinguished guest? He could merely be considered a guest, unworthy of the honorific title. He had not even seen Monk Isaiah Fowler yet!
"Well, the senior’s divine calculation is indeed exquisite. I did bring a distinguished guest." Everest Zuck smiled lightly and turned to leave.
The abbot was also scratching his head in confusion. The friend brought by Everest Zuck turned out to be a distinguished guest? What was this situation?
The exact age of Isaiah Fowler was a mystery, the abbot only knew to call him Great Uncle Master. However, Monk Isaiah Fowler was not a resident monk at Lingyun Monastery; where exactly he hailed from or his origins was beyond the abbot’s knowledge since even the abbot’s own master was unaware.
Nevertheless, Monk Isaiah Fowler was incredibly formidable, with a powerful aura. It could be said that this senior monk had mastered many skills.
Yusuf Zuck, who was sitting in the side hall drinking tea, saw Everest Zuck and the abbot return in less than ten minutes and thought they had succeeded, so he stood up in joy.
"Alright, you should hurry to the back, what kind of distinguished guest am I? The master knew you were coming and has asked specifically to see you. I haven’t even seen him; go meet him quickly and remember what I told you before." Everest Zuck gave Yusuf Zuck a meaningful look.
On their way there, Everest Zuck had informed Yusuf Zuck about many of Buddhism’s taboos and also mentioned some information about Isaiah Fowler, all of which he knew.
Yusuf Zuck was completely baffled. Monk Isaiah Fowler specifically wanted to see him? What was this situation?
He walked through the Main Hall in a daze and followed the abbot into the courtyard.
"Du Yi, you leave now and close the door." As soon as the two entered the courtyard, Monk Isaiah Fowler instructed the abbot to leave immediately.
"Yes, Great Uncle Master." The abbot, curious himself, though he was a monk and a normal person with a mind prone to curiosity.
But since Isaiah Fowler was his Great Uncle Master, he did not dare to overstep and could only exit the gate and close it behind him.
Yusuf Zuck paused for a few seconds at the entrance, and then stepped forward, stopping at the snowy footprints left by Everest Zuck and the abbot. He bowed towards the inside and said, "Yusuf Zuck pays his respects to Master Isaiah Fowler!"
"Oh, your name is Yusuf Zuck." The voice of Monk Isaiah Fowler came through, softer than before. However, at that very moment, a wave of telekinetic energy suddenly enveloped him.
Yusuf Zuck startled, with no time to think deeply, for if one’s mind were to be covered by another’s telekinesis, it was extremely dangerous, akin to being locked on by someone else. So his own telekinesis released instantly, and the two forces met and clashed in front of him.
A ripple seemed to pass through the air, emitting a "hum" before dissipating.
"Hm?" Finally, a light sound of surprise came from inside, followed by what seemed to be Monk Isaiah Fowler taking a long breath.
"You... come in." Monk Isaiah Fowler said calmly.
"Yes." Yusuf Zuck, bold and daring, became excited upon encountering another like himself after the clash of telekinesis. In this world, there were indeed others like him.
