Chapter 188: Chapter 188: The Devil?

"Bang–Bang–" As two gunshots rang out, the two sentinels who had just slipped into position collapsed in pools of blood, their heads blown open at close range by Yusuf Zuck without even knowing what hit them.

Meanwhile, the sniper perched on the rooftop who had witnessed the two men fall, finally jumped down, hands raised high, shouting something that seemed to include the word "Oh my God."

Yusuf Zuck didn’t understand English, but he had heard a bit here and there, and it seemed that phrase meant something about God’s will.

The three surrendering mercenaries huddled with their heads in their hands, babbling rapidly in a language that Yusuf Zuck couldn’t understand a word of.

As he reached the corridor, his body began to reappear, the three-minute duration of his invisibility having passed, and the three mercenaries, upon seeing him materialize, said something like "Chinese or Japanese," questioning his nationality. Yusuf Zuck understood this phrase.

Yusuf Zuck didn’t stop or gesture back at them; instead, he strode quickly towards the three men.

The three men kept talking, unaware that Yusuf Zuck hadn’t understood them.

"Sorry," Yusuf Zuck didn’t hesitate, nor did he bother with further conversation. He couldn’t let these three know his secret of becoming invisible but still allow them to live. He hadn’t intended to leave any witnesses alive, not even those who surrendered.

He wasn’t a regular soldier; he didn’t care for chivalry or gentlemanly conduct, much less about humanitarianism. In his world, there was no humanity, only the path to death!

"Bang Bang Bang–" With two handguns, he fired three rounds at close range, executing the three mercenaries.

Indeed, at that moment, he had become the Grim Reaper, a devil incarnate. Having already killed thirteen, how could he possibly spare these three who had surrendered?

Perhaps the mercenaries never expected that the God they cried out to was now a devil with bloodied eyes.

Yusuf Zuck wiped the blood off his face, splattered there from the close-range killing, but this time, he didn’t react with as much disgust or fear as he might have previously after killing twice before.

Moreover, all sixteen mercenaries were foreigners, none his own kin, so killing them didn’t induce guilt or regret.

After dealing with the last three, Yusuf Zuck didn’t immediately head to Mia’s room. Instead, he ran a perimeter check to ensure no one else was lurking, no one left alive.

Regrettably, all sixteen were dead, the stench of blood permeating the once peaceful coconut grove now turned into a bloody hell.

Yusuf Zuck holstered his guns and, after wiping his face again, finally pushed open Mia’s room door.

As soon as he did, Mia and Ross’s mother jerked their heads up – tense, excited, alert.

The sound of gunfire had been intense, the mercenaries’ howls and screams heard by the two women. Yusuf Zuck didn’t understand English, but they did.

Some cried for ghosts, some for God, some for mutants, some to kill him... and some pleaded for surrender, offering money, willing to become his servants, and so on.

Yet none of these cries elicited a response from the phantom, and then, after three minutes, utter silence outside their room, and finally, their door was pushed open.

Mia desperately wanted to know – which ghost, which devil, which God?

Ross’s mother also wanted to know who possessed such formidable power to dare raid Jeff Frost’s mercenaries’ stronghold.

Yusuf Zuck!

They saw a face, a familiar face, beaming with a radiant smile.

Mia was utterly astounded, while Ross’s mother, after a moment of stunned silence, suddenly understood – this Yusuf Zuck was endowed with divine skills!

"Yusuf Zuck..." Upon seeing Yusuf Zuck, Mia burst into tears with a loud cry.

However, the next thing Yusuf Zuck said almost made Mia and Ross’s mother spit blood.

"Mia, have you ever been raped or gang-raped?" Yusuf asked as he walked forward.

Ross’s mother’s eyes rolled back, and Mia did spit out blood because she had bitten her lip.

"Don’t, don’t glare at me, I was just asking, just asking!" Yusuf crouched in front of Mia and whispered.

"Pfft~" Mia, who had already been crying noisily, was now amused by Yusuf’s question and laughed.

That’s how Yusuf was, he always managed to cheer people up. Being with him always relaxed one’s mood, so even in such moments, laughter could break through the grimness.

"Wait a second, I forgot, I’m going to look for the keys." Yusuf suddenly slapped his forehead, having forgotten the keys, and as he walked outside, he added, "Everyone’s dead, so there’s no need to worry."

"There were sixteen people in total!" Ross’s mother reminded him at that moment.

"Not a single one escaped, exactly sixteen!" Yusuf snapped his fingers and said as he ran out.

He soon found a bunch of keys on the body of the mercenary leader, and when he returned to Mia’s room, those turned out to be the right ones, so Mia and Ross’s mother were successfully rescued!

"Yusuf Zuck!" The moment the chains and shackles were removed, Mia excitedly jumped onto Yusuf, not caring about anything else, and planted a firm kiss on his cheek!

"I was serious just now, did any of that happen to you?" Yusuf suddenly brought up the topic he had just mentioned!

"I’m gonna kill you..." Mia, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, jumped down and started pounding on Yusuf with her small fists.

"Alright, alright, I won’t ask anymore. It’s none of my business anyway. I’m not going to marry you in the future, come on Ross’s mother, let’s go!" Yusuf grabbed Mia’s hand, not caring whether she was angry or not, and dragged her away.

Ross’s mother walked by Yusuf’s side, and Mia calmed down too. The lights outside revealed to them the sight of much blood and many dead bodies, with the most horrifying sight being six or seven people piled up in the middle of the walkway!

Mia couldn’t stand the smell that permeated the air, nor the intense visual impact, so she vomited right there.

As for Ross’s mother, she walked over the corpses with a calm demeanor.

"I can’t do this, I can’t walk anymore, I feel terrible..." After a few steps, Mia’s legs trembled. Although she was usually quite tough, at that moment, she was extremely scared, her legs shaking so much she couldn’t walk.

Yusuf effortlessly picked her up and gave her backside a firm pat, saying, "Weren’t you fearless before? What scares you so much now!"

"Hey, don’t slap..." Mia wriggled in protest. Yusuf was being too rough, but at that moment, she also felt an unprecedented sense of security. Yusuf seemed so towering and endearing in her eyes!

"You... they said you were a devil, they couldn’t see you, how did you do that, how did you kill all of them by yourself?" On the way back, Mia finally couldn’t help but ask.

And this question from Mia was precisely what Ross’s mother wanted to ask as well. How did Yusuf manage that? Why couldn’t those people see him, calling him a devil, a ghost?

"Foreigners have eyes on their asses, blind as bats. I’m just a bit faster, that’s all. They were all screaming and shouting. But to me, these mercenaries and assassins don’t count for anything; you still don’t know me? I’m a super bodyguard!"

"Then be my bodyguard in the future, no matter the cost. One billion a year? Two billion, ten billion? Twenty billion, as long as you agree, I dare to pay!" Mia didn’t miss a beat and started bargaining.

"Are you trying to keep me as a sugar baby or recruit me as a son-in-law?" Yusuf chuckled, "I’ll think about it!"
