Invisible Security Guard
Chapter 180: Through Thick and Thin

Chapter 180: Chapter 180: Through Thick and Thin

"Mia is missing?" Yusuf Zuck was greatly startled. Mia hadn’t contacted him recently, not even responding to the several text messages he had sent.

"What happened?" Yusuf Zuck said in a deep voice.

"The last time Mia contacted me was three days ago. She claimed she was in Jakarta, Indonesia, about to fly to Australia. When I knew of her itinerary, I didn’t pay much attention. Her father was also aware of her travel plans, but the next day, her father called me because after he sent someone to pick her up at the airport, Mia wasn’t on the flight they had arranged. Her father made some inquiries through his connections and found out that Mia and two bodyguards had purchased tickets, but they didn’t board the plane. After that, when her father tried to contact her, including the bodyguards’ mobile phones, all were switched off. Until this morning, her father located the body of one of the female bodyguards through the local police. She had been shot dead, while Mia and the other female bodyguard are missing!"

"A bodyguard was shot dead?" Yusuf Zuck’s hair stood on end with horror. Was it Ross’s mother who had been killed, or was it Lin Lin? Yusuf Zuck felt a chill down his spine, sure that something had happened to Mia.

"Yusuf, I’m so scared..." Over the phone, Ruth Wilcox’s voice broke into sobs. Mia was her best friend, and she was terrified that something had happened to her, afraid that Mia might be gone forever.

"Don’t panic, don’t panic, she’ll be fine," Yusuf Zuck reassured her, knowing that Ruth Wilcox had called him more for comfort than for help, knowing that Mia was abroad, not in Mainland, which meant Yusuf Zuck couldn’t be much help anyway.

"Yeah, she’ll be fine, definitely, Yusuf... I... Mia..." Ruth Wilcox continued to weep over the phone.

"Yes, she’ll be alright, I’ll think of something," Yusuf Zuck said urgently, "Do this, give me Mia’s father’s phone number."

"What can you possibly do? She’s in Indonesia, not Mainland..." Ruth Wilcox replied with frustration.

"Just give me her father’s number, I’ll contact him first," Yusuf Zuck persisted.

"Alright." Ruth Wilcox gave out a phone number, and Yusuf Zuck memorized it carefully.

"Don’t worry, I’ll get a friend to check out the situation. Mia has good fortune on her side, she’ll be ok. I’m going to hang up now and ask around," Yusuf Zuck didn’t say much more over the phone, knowing that no matter how much he tried to console her, he couldn’t alleviate Ruth Wilcox’s worries.

After hanging up, Yusuf Zuck immediately ran to the staircase and shouted, "Fleur, come up here for a sec."

"Coming!" Fleur answered cheerily, holding a large prawn and snacking as she made her way upstairs.

"I remember you once mentioned you have dual identities, one in Hong Kong and one in Mainland, right?" Yusuf Zuck asked.

"Yeah, what’s up?" Fleur nodded in response.

"Would it be convenient for you to go to Indonesia?" Yusuf Zuck inquired further.

"It’s visa-free, just need to buy a plane ticket to get there!" Fleur continued nodding.

"Forget dinner then, a friend of mine is in trouble." Yusuf Zuck quickly explained Mia’s situation to Fleur, who frowned and said, "Is this Mia someone I’ve met before? What’s her relation to you?"

"Ruth’s good friend, she previously lent me tens of millions, we’re close," Yusuf Zuck affirmed seriously.

"With her situation, there are only two possibilities, one is that she’s dead and her body is hidden somewhere, the other is she’s been kidnapped. Hmm, is she wealthy?" Fleur inquired.

"Extremely wealthy, her family owns the Prosperity Group."

"FuYou Group? FuYou?" Fleur Carson suddenly widened her eyes. Of course, she had heard of FuYou Group—it was a super huge company.

"Alright, I’ll make a trip. I’ve been to Jakarta before and am quite familiar with the place. No choice, I’m working for you now, so obviously I have to take care of it for you." After saying this, Fleur Carson went back to her room to pack and then set out on her journey that very night.

However, just as she returned to her room, she immediately came back out, looking puzzled, "I remember you said before that you got your passport, right?"

"Yeah." Yusuf Zuck nodded his head.

"Then come with me. You’re not busy with anything now, are you?"

"But don’t I need to apply for a visa, get the Indonesian embassy’s stamp, and stuff like that? Won’t the paperwork take a few days?" Yusuf Zuck shook his head.

"Oh, right." Fleur Carson shook her head. Although Yusuf Zuck now had a passport, having a passport didn’t mean he could just buy a plane ticket and travel abroad—the processes were quite troublesome.

Yusuf Zuck was also annoyed. Why did Hong Kong residents get visa-free access while Mainland residents couldn’t?

Yusuf Zuck followed Fleur Carson into her room and watched as she packed her clothes and took out a lot of US dollars from her suitcase.

"US dollars are universally accepted abroad. If you try using renminbi, people won’t recognize it, so you should also prepare some US dollars at home," Fleur Carson reminded him.

"After you arrive, how do you plan to start looking for her?" Yusuf Zuck thought for a moment and then asked.

"I don’t know, but it shouldn’t be difficult to find her if I intend to. The disappearance of a rich boss’s daughter in Indonesia would definitely have already made the news. So, I will search for her in my own way when I get there."

"I’ll handle the visa as quickly as possible and then join you."

"Good, a tourist visa should be quicker. Some travel groups can get you there just with a bought plane ticket. Indonesia allows for visa on arrival, but you’ll still need your round-trip plane ticket, hotel reservation, and proof of personal financial resources. Anyway, you’ve got to prepare your documents at home. You’ll need these papers even after you leave the country. Also, translate the documents into both Chinese and Indonesian, get them notarized, and so on—it’s a real hassle!"

"Wait, just buying a plane ticket..." Yusuf Zuck suddenly stood up. Why did he need to prepare documents? Why did he need to apply for a visa? He could become invisible! Couldn’t he just follow Fleur Carson onto the plane?

He remembered that they don’t check tickets on the plane. If there was an empty seat, he could just sit in it. If there were no empty seats, he could hide in the luggage hold or somewhere similar—either way, he could still go.

And when coming back, he could do the same and thus freely stow away!

"That won’t work. You can’t just buy a ticket. You have Mainland identity, not a Hong Kong one, so you need to prepare the materials..." Fleur Carson explained.

"I got it, I’m coming with you!" Yusuf Zuck suddenly laughed: "I have a way out, I don’t even need to buy a ticket." Yusuf Zuck smirked, having forgotten that he was special now, invisible.

"Uh... You’re not joking?" Seeing the serious look on Yusuf Zuck’s face, Fleur Carson was instantly confused. What did Yusuf Zuck mean?

"Cut the crap, hurry up and pack, then book the plane ticket. I’ll go with you!" Yusuf Zuck said, then turned and went downstairs. He needed to let them know downstairs that he couldn’t make it for the reunion dinner and had to leave that very night.

Mia... he didn’t want anything bad to happen to Mia, and certainly not for her to die. Frankly speaking, Yusuf Zuck saw Mia as more than a friend, but as a close confidant. They got along well together, and he enjoyed her company. So, if Mia was in trouble, he was ready to go through fire and water for her!
