Chapter 1487: Old Friend
Chapter 1487: Chapter 1487: Old Friend
Ivy Frost realized that there was animosity between the Saint Heir and the Saintess. The Saint Heir’s gaze toward the Saintess was wicked and greedy.
However, Ivy Frost was a clever girl, so she did not ask any questions.
Whether it was the Saint Heir or the Saintess, they were both Saint Level beings. Their good or evil had nothing to do with her, Ivy Frost.
After stepping into the Golden Gateway, she took only two steps forward, then exited the gateway to land on a square atop the mountain peak.
"Follow me." The Saintess gently nodded at her and continued to lead the way.
Passing through a corridor, crossing the Huge Stone Hall, and walking past many assembly halls, Ivy Frost was finally brought to a mountain cave.
Indeed, it was a cave. The cave was pitch-black and filled with chilling winds. When Ivy Frost took just one glance inside, her body froze, and all her hair stood on end.
"Wait here, I’ll go notify the Elder Mentor." The Saintess gave Ivy Frost a friendly smile, encouraging her not to fear, and then walked into the dark cave with measured steps.
As soon as the Saintess entered the cave, Ivy Frost saw her body lift off the ground, being sucked inside by a spiraling gust of cold wind.
Ivy Frost was terrified, desperately calling out for Yusuf Zuck in her heart, hoping he would strengthen her courage.
Yet, Yusuf Zuck did not give her any response.
About three to four breaths later, a wisp of cold wind blew out from the cave. Then, Saintess Maria was sent out by the wind, landing safely on the ground. However, her face was pale, and she seemed unsettled.
Ivy Frost immediately grabbed the Saintess’s hand. She was truly frightened. What kind of person was this Elder Mentor? Why had he chosen to live in this chilling, ominous Black Mountain Cave instead of a palace?
"Alright, you can go in now. The Elder Mentor has summoned you. Remember, when you see the Elder Mentor, you must kneel. Don’t speak unless asked. Don’t rise unless permitted. Answer whatever he asks." The Saintess patted her hand and instructed.
"Okay." Ivy Frost bit her lip, summoned her courage, and took bold steps into the cave.
The moment she stepped into the cave, her body also rose into the air, and in an instant, she was sucked inside by a spiraling cold wind.
In the blink of an eye, before Ivy Frost could grasp what had happened, she landed again and found herself in a dark, circular cavern. The cavern’s hall was vast but damp and gloomy, illuminated by only a single Luminous Pearl.
Moreover, the scent of blood here was overwhelmingly strong, making her nauseous.
Ivy Frost clenched her fists tightly, looking around for traces of the Heart Elder Mentor.
Just then, a sinister voice rang out. The voice was genderless, sharp, yet coarse, making it impossible to determine if it belonged to a man or a woman: "No need to look further; take three steps forward."
"Ah..." Ivy Frost was startled by the eerie voice, then reflexively took three quick steps forward. Immediately, with a thud, she dropped to her knees.
As soon as she knelt, a beam of red light descended from above her, enveloping her entire body.
Ivy Frost did not dare to move. She felt as though she was bound. In the next moment, a gust of cold wind swept over her, causing every pore on her body to open, allowing an unseen current to enter her.
Ivy Frost began sobbing uncontrollably, terrified by the uncomfortable and horrifying sensation.
"Splash splash~ Boom boom boom..." Amid her tears, she heard the sound of flowing water and the thuds of her heartbeat, sensing every part of her body with extraordinary clarity.
She was astonished. How was she able to perceive every detail within her body so vividly? Why was this happening?
A few seconds later, a sound emerged from the depths of her soul. It was a humming, "Buzz buzz~ Buzz buzz~," and her eyelids grew heavy as her consciousness became dim. In less than a breath, her head drooped, and she sank into a deep sleep.
At the moment she fainted, a curved red beam shot out from the cavern walls and pointed at the center of her brow, quickly retracting afterward.
"Hmm? Interesting, fascinating!" The same sinister voice spoke again. "So, it truly is natural evolution, Supreme Evolution. Her bloodline has been purified, all her acupoints, meridians, and bones have achieved the most perfect cultivation standards, even surpassing the perfection of my own body!"
"Hoo~" The sinister voice took a deep breath and said, "This evolution will reach Emperor-level in no time, won’t it? Incredible. This is the first case of its kind in the history of the Soul World. Even dear Pierre was nothing compared to this—marvelous!" After finishing, the voice vanished abruptly, while the red glow surrounding Ivy Frost dissipated, and her body was swept up by a gust of cold wind and ejected.
Though she was sent out, Ivy Frost seemed to remain in a deep sleep, and the Saintess had to shake her awake.
"Ah ah, what happened? Ah?" Ivy Frost drooled unconsciously, unable to recall what had occurred before.
"Nothing to worry about." The Saintess closed her eyes briefly, having received a message through spiritual transmission from the Heart Elder Mentor.
"Alright, follow me. From today onward, you will be the closed-door disciple of the Heart Elder Mentor on the Sacred Mountain and bear the saintly name ’Blue Enchantress!’"
"Huh, Blue Enchantress? I don’t want that name!" Ivy Frost immediately shook her head in protest.
"It’s a name bestowed by the Elder Mentor!" The Saintess said sternly.
"But... I..." Ivy Frost tried to argue but failed to get her words out.
The Saintess chuckled lightly and suddenly comforted her, "The Elder Mentor is in the critical stage of his training, so he couldn’t meet you personally. Instead, he entrusted me with issuing a proclamation to the world. Moreover, a Saintly name isn’t just something anyone can choose. Being given a Saintly name by the Elder Mentor is a great honor, and in the future, you will become very powerful. The name ’Blue Enchantress’ will resonate throughout the Soul World and even across the heavens. The Elder Mentor made this decision with your future in mind."
"Alright, first follow me to the Dust Wash Pavilion to cleanse your body, then head to the War God Pavilion to choose a Magic Treasure. After selecting your treasure, you will go into seclusion at the Heaven Heart Pavilion for training. When the Elder Mentor emerges from his retreat, he will summon you again and pass on to you the ultimate Divine Ability!"
"I’ll follow Saintess Sister’s instructions in everything," Ivy Frost replied meekly.
"Such a child," the Saintess remarked, patting Ivy Frost’s head, then leapt into the air with Ivy Frost to head toward another mountain peak.
On that peak sat a pristine spring known as the Dust Wash Spring. Bathing in it could cleanse the body inside and out. For example, if you had internal injuries, they would heal upon entering the spring; scars would disappear, and even severed arms or legs could regenerate as long as the head remained intact.
Although it was just a simple bath, access to the Dust Wash Pavilion was extraordinarily limited in the Soul World. It was not a place open to just anyone.
As Ivy Frost followed the Saintess in flight, Yusuf Zuck’s voice suddenly appeared again: "The Heart Elder Mentor is hidden behind the stone walls of the cave. First, he used a parasitic form of Divine Consciousness to probe your entire body, then paused within your soul. Later, he retrieved memories from your soul through a red beam of light!"
"Also, I’m finding this place increasingly fascinating; I’ve unexpectedly encountered an old friend!" Yusuf Zuck chuckled softly.
