Chapter 1463: Such a Barbecue

Chapter 1463: Chapter 1463: Such a Barbecue

At this moment, Yusuf Zuck stood beneath a stalk of wild grass that rose several meters high. When he lifted his head, he couldn’t see the sky at all.

The trees were simply too tall, and every plant around him—even the petals of a single flower—towered over his body.

He felt as though he had entered the realm of giants.

"Whose hand was that? Why would they leave me here?" Yusuf frowned, then suddenly unleashed his Divine Consciousness outward.

"Hmm?" Just as he released his Divine Consciousness, he was startled to find that it could only extend about one hundred meters.

"Only one hundred meters?" Yusuf exhaled deeply, then lightly tapped his toes against the ground. In that instant, his body shot upward like a missile.

He could still fly, and his speed was as swift as ever.

With a sudden "whoosh," within a single breath, he soared to the top of a massive, towering tree. Standing atop the canopy, he gazed into the distance.

But all that stretched out before him was an endless expanse of verdant vegetation. Apart from the overwhelming green, there was nothing else to see.

Standing atop the tree, Yusuf fell into a thoughtful silence. In this world, there must surely exist beings far stronger than him—ancient great gods who might vastly overpower him. Perhaps even entities of incomprehensible power.

But what puzzled him was why. Why hadn’t they harmed him? Instead, they had simply thrown him into this place?

He raised his palm, condensed spiritual energy into its sharpest form, and sliced forward gently.

"Buzz-buzz-buzz~" Vibrations echoed through the space, but... they did not achieve the effect he had hoped for. He had tried to cleave through the space itself, yet his blade-like hand failed to tear it apart.

Unable to shatter the space, it also meant he couldn’t teleport or escape this world.

Yusuf’s brow furrowed deeply as he began to move forward.

Everything here was eerily still—there were no small animals or demonic beasts to be seen.

Logically speaking, where there were trees and grass, there should be countless insects and birdlife. But as Yusuf walked on for six hours, he didn’t spot even a single ant.

Moreover, Yusuf noticed the absence of wind and clouds. It was extraordinarily peculiar, as if everything was completely frozen in time.

"The spiritual power here isn’t ordinary. It isn’t Immortal Spiritual Power, nor God’s Spirit, nor vitality, nor the Power of the Giants..." As Yusuf walked, he stopped intermittently, taking in the environment and the aura it exuded.

Though there was spiritual power present, it was something entirely unknown to him. This mysterious force was, in fact, the very reason the trees, flowers, and plants had grown to such astonishing heights.

"Hmm? There’s smoke over there." Just as Yusuf paused again, he suddenly noticed a wisp of blue-gray smoke rising far away within the forest.

He narrowed his eyes, choosing not to rush over directly.

He was now more mature, more composed—a far cry from a reckless child. In this unfamiliar environment, he felt no fear, nor did he dread loneliness.

Anyone else, placed in this still, barren world where not a single soul could be found, might suddenly leap for joy at the prospect of discovering signs of human presence ahead.

But not him. He maintained an intense level of vigilance.

After a moment of contemplation, his body trembled slightly. Instantly, he shrank in size, becoming as small as a sesame seed, and activated his Invisibility Technique once more.

"Huh? When did my invisibility advance again?" As his body faded from view, Yusuf realized with a start that his Invisibility Technique had reached near perfection. When invisible, he seamlessly merged with the air and space around him.

Over the years, invisibility had seemed like a redundant ability to him, because the opponents he faced—whether supreme beings or gods—would always detect even the slightest ripple of energy.

Yet now, on a whim, he had suddenly rediscovered its power. His invisibility had unknowingly transformed into something flawless—utterly without defect. Once invisible, there were no traces of wind, waves, or fluctuations of energy; he integrated completely with the surrounding space.

Yusuf smirked wryly. How absurd it was to think back—his journey had started with invisibility. All his fortunes today had grown from this single innate gift.

Invisibility truly was his lucky Divine Skill; without it, how could he have reached where he was now?

Slowly, Yusuf floated forward, carefully checking whether he might cause any disturbances in energy or movement.

"No. I’ve truly merged perfectly with this space. Could this be the ultimate state of invisibility?" Yusuf realized that blending completely with space might be the highest level of invisibility—not merely hiding within earth, wood, or water, nor concealing oneself in wind, metal, humans, or animals, but harmonizing entirely with space itself.

It seemed he’d already achieved that.

After about a dozen breaths, Yusuf approached within a hundred meters of the smoke. He didn’t cross into the immediate vicinity of the smoke but instead concealed himself atop the treetops, peering through the cracks between the leaves to observe its source.

From afar, though faintly, he could make out a figure—someone resembling a small giant.

He termed it a "small giant" because, by Yusuf’s estimation, the figure stood over ten feet tall, about three meters in height. Additionally, the "giant" had matted hair and tattered clothes, and wasn’t wearing shoes.

The smoke stemmed from the fire he had lit, and Yusuf watched the "giant" roasting something while humming softly to himself.

"Hmm, it smells like roasted meat." Moments later, Yusuf wrinkled his nose as the aroma of meat wafted toward him. It was a rich, savory scent that made his stomach growl in response—the "giant" was cooking meat, and the scent was overwhelming.

Because the figure faced away from him, Yusuf could only see his back and not his face.

After some consideration, Yusuf continued flying forward at a careful pace, intentionally circling around to approach from the southeast—the direction directly in front of the "giant."

Yet, upon arriving at the figure’s front, Yusuf was shocked to his core—his entire body breaking out in cold sweat.

It wasn’t because this person looked particularly grotesque or horrifying. No, what disturbed him was the meat being roasted over the fire—it was... his own two hands!

No mistake. The "giant" had started a fire and was roasting his own pair of hands in it. The tantalizing aroma of meat came from the flesh of his hands.

Yusuf felt an overwhelming urge to vomit—a nauseating wave of revulsion coursing through him. What kind of being was this? What degree of hunger could drive someone to such extremes? This was madness! Who could calmly roast their own hands while humming a tune?

Yusuf felt chills run down his spine. It was too bizarre, too horrific.

"Ah, delicious! Time to dig in, hehe." The figure, a young man appearing to be in his twenties, spoke. Despite his filthy appearance, resembling a beggar with his wild, unkempt hair, Yusuf could faintly discern that if properly groomed, this young man might actually be an attractive giant.

The man began eating, starting with his thumb. Like sliding meat off a skewer, he pulled the thumb meat into his mouth in one swift motion, finishing it entirely in seconds. He chewed greedily, proclaiming its deliciousness.

After finishing the thumb, he lightly sucked on a nearby container of alcohol. From the man’s inhalation, the liquid formed a stream that flowed directly into his mouth.

"Hahaha, what bliss!" The young man laughed heartily, alternating between devouring his fingers and savoring the alcohol.

Yusuf inhaled sharply multiple times. This figure was clearly insane—utterly deranged. Who in their right mind would barbecue their own hands to eat?
