Chapter 124: Chapter 124: A Burst of Anger for Being a ’Bad Person

Just as Yusuf Zuck and Samuel Ross were at the Beijing Film Academy, the officers from the Garden Road police station, after having lunch, headed straight for the "New World" Film and Television Production Company.

Others might not know Bud Trujillo’s background, but Ember Vance knew him like the back of her hand.

Bud Trujillo could be considered an entrepreneur. Although he was young, his business in the Earth Realm of the capital was booming.

According to what Ember Vance knew, Bud Trujillo owned a film and television production company, several entertainment clubs, as well as restaurants and swimming pools among other establishments.

In short, he had shares in many companies and was regarded as a player in the capital who had clout over both the underworld and the legitimate business world.

Moreover, Ember Vance had also heard rumors about Bud Trujillo—that he exploited young actresses and female students under the pretext of shooting films, with many girls victimized by his actions.

In the capital’s circles, there were rumors about Bud Trujillo whose nickname was also "Gigolo," earning the moniker "Night after night, Gigolo," changing his conquests daily—models, flight attendants, students, women from respectable families, and so on, leaving no stone unturned in his mischief.

He had been sued several times, but each time the plaintiffs withdrew their cases voluntarily, leading to no further action. Bud Trujillo had connections high and low—capable of maneuvering through the dark as well as pulling strings in the light, making him a renowned figure within the capital. Many people showed him respect because of his status.

However, Ember Vance wouldn’t give him that respect. To her, his face was nothing but the dirt on the sole of a shoe, and today, she was determined to give him a good whipping.

New World Film and Television was a relatively large production company that had released several movies, TV series, and commercials, and had nurtured a few second-tier female stars.

It had nearly a hundred contracted artists.

New World was deemed a respectable company fit for public presentation, hence Bud Trujillo personally served as the CEO, though he did not frequent the company often, but he was the registered legal representative.

Ember Vance didn’t know if Bud Trujillo was at New World, but she was sure she could get in touch with him once she arrived there.

The so-called young calf doesn’t fear the tiger; Ember Vance, as the new official, took aim at Bud Trujillo as her first target, partly out of personal vendetta since Yusuf Zuck had now completely captured her heart, so why should she be courteous now that Bud Trujillo had crossed her path?

And besides, this lady was not just a pretty face without brains; being new, she needed to handle such tough cases to change her colleagues’ perceptions and earn their respect.

Two police cars, sirens blaring, stopped outside the New World Film and Television office building, catching the attention of many inside, while Ember Vance was the first to jump out of the car, and instead of heading straight in, turned to look at the other officers getting out one by one.

"I’m new here at our station, and you all know each other already. So, without wasting words, follow my commands today, and no one drop the ball. If anyone screws up, I’ll make their life difficult. I’m a woman, I’m petty, so don’t provoke me. From now on, let’s get along and dedicate ourselves to serving the people!"

"Chief Vance, just point, and I’ll hit," some younger officers at the station chuckled. Ember Vance was recognized as the beauty among officers in the precinct, and now that this beauty had become their chief, the young, unmarried policemen were overjoyed. Being cared for by a beautiful woman every day was indeed a blessing!

"Chief Vance, should we notify Chief Liu?" Deputy Chief Sun was still anxious. He had long heard that Ember Vance was daring, and today he had indeed seen it for himself.

"Chief Liu is about to retire; we can’t always bother him with everything. Follow me upstairs." Ember Vance had her gun, and before setting out, everyone had gone to the armory to retrieve firearms and ammunition. She was serious, not pretending.

After speaking, Ember Vance straightened her uniform, adjusted her cap, her expression suddenly stern, and then marched in her black leather shoes toward the office building.

Dressed in her uniform and with a stern face, she presented a striking figure. Being naturally beautiful with a melon-seeded face and cherry lips, she exuded a presence in uniform that could quicken a man’s heartbeat.

"Officers, may I ask who you are looking for?" Seeing Ember Vance leading the team in, a person in charge at New World immediately came up with a smile on his face.

"Is Bud Trujillo here?" Ember Vance stood at the forefront, with policemen behind her looking to her like followers, all deferentially waiting on her lead.

"May I ask what business you have with our General Manager Huang?" the person in charge asked, perplexed.

"Do I have to tell you what it’s about? Who are you? Show me your ID. Xiao Zhu, check his ID. Police are working here, bystanders shouldn’t gather around. And where is Bud Trujillo?" Ember Vance wasn’t deliberately playing the bad cop—it was just that today her face was indeed stern. Who was to blame? Bud Trujillo had crossed Yusuf Zuck, and Yusuf Zuck was... was very close to her!

Indeed, in her heart, the friendship she shared with Yusuf Zuck transcended that of ordinary friends. Though not lovers, she found Yusuf Zuck appealing in every way. Right now, Yusuf Zuck held more importance in her heart than anyone else. She had even dreamed about him all night long, and in those dreams, so much had happened.

She didn’t understand what was happening to herself, but one thing was clear—anyone who messed with Yusuf Zuck was messing with her.

Sometimes, ruffians are often more attractive to women. Yusuf Zuck was a ruffian. After a few encounters with him, and being touched and flirted with a couple of times, she not only didn’t hate him, but felt an inexplicable restlessness in her heart.

Moreover, it was he who had saved her life yesterday.

In her eyes, Yusuf Zuck was an admirable ruffian, a ’bad guy’!

The minds of women are really hard to figure out. Once hopelessly in love with a man, they could do anything.

Ember Vance was that kind of girl. Now hopelessly infatuated, she didn’t care about consequences. Offend Yusuf Zuck, and she would make you pay!

"Officer, what do you mean?" Knowing Bud Trujillo’s background, that person in charge was not intimidated by Ember Vance; the situation today made it clear that this female officer was looking for trouble.

"Show me your ID!" a young police officer stepped forward and barked.

"I didn’t bring it," the person in charge retorted angrily.

"Take him away and throw him in the car for obstructing official business," Ember Vance was playing hardball; she was now arresting people on the spot.

As the ancients said, a hero could be spurred into rage by a beauty. She was now acting on rage for a ’bad guy’.

The two young police officers didn’t say another word and handcuffed the man right away. There was nothing they could do—Ember Vance had made it clear earlier that nobody could afford to slip up today; they were to strike wherever she pointed. Besides, if anything went wrong, Ember Vance could handle it; she had the backing.

"You, tell me, where is Bud Trujillo?" Ember Vance turned to a woman who had just come downstairs, seemingly an actress with a somewhat familiar face.

"Uh... General Manager Huang is upstairs in the chief manager’s office," the actress stammered, clearly intimidated by the display. What kind of female cop was this? She was too frightening, wasn’t she?

"Let’s go upstairs," Ember Vance commanded with a wave of her hand and proceeded to lead the way.

The police officers took the person in charge to the police car outside, while the others followed Ember Vance upstairs.

Bud Trujillo happened to be there today as several female students had come for an audition. He was personally conducting the auditions.

Of course, the auditions were a sham—Bud Trujillo’s real intent was to take liberties with the female students. If they wanted to join his company, be promoted by him, or get a role in the movies he was producing, they had first to submit to his hidden agenda!
