Chapter 108: A Hug

Chapter 108: Chapter 108: A Hug

Yusuf Zuck and Mia bantered their way to the airport, and once they arrived at the airport parking lot, Mia didn’t rush to get out of the car, and she also became uncharacteristically serious.

"Keep the card for now. When you have time, send me your bank card number. After I arrive in Hong Kong, I’ll transfer the money directly into your bank account."

"Bud Trujillo is a bad guy, and he’s powerful too. He mainly invests in the catering and film industry, as well as developing real estate. He owns shares in many companies and has gathered a bunch of people under him. Be careful around him, and don’t go head-to-head with him. If it gets too much, either go back to your hometown or come find me in Hong Kong."

"Oh, Ruth flew directly to Lopin yesterday during the day. She didn’t go to Shanghai. You’re probably the first man to move her heart, so I hope you don’t let her down."

"I stayed to keep an eye on you, but you...hmm...are decent, no doubt about it. Among all the men I’ve met, you have the best character."

"Of course, I must add, I’m not interested in you."

"Also, as far as I know, Ruth’s grandfather has always wanted her to marry into the Ross family from Germany. In recent years, Ruth’s clan has been declining, so her grandfather has been insisting she marry Little Ross from the Ross family. Hmm, Little Ross is handsome, cultured, fluent in many languages, extremely intelligent, and also Ruth’s classmate who has been pursuing her."

"So your romantic rival is Little Ross. To put it bluntly, you’ve got two big obstacles ahead of you: one is the Wilcox family, a Chinese clan, and the other is the Ross family, a super-clan that has been around for centuries."

"The reason I’m telling you all this is for you to be clear about what you really want and how you should act in the future."

"Happiness comes in many forms. You can give Ruth happiness, but others can do the same for her."

"I don’t mean to discourage or dissuade you, just...well, weigh your love and your wealth to see if you can overcome those two big mountains ahead."

"Of course, if you’re able to get Ruth pregnant, that would be quite a feat. But I don’t think that’s in your character."

"Let me think if there’s anything else to say." Lara Tuff was serious for once, and from her words, Yusuf Zuck could tell that Mia, Lara Tuff, was a very insightful and thoughtful woman, with her carefree attitude being just one aspect of her personality.

"That’s it, I guess. No fooling around, and don’t go seeking women from Ruth’s family. Even if you do fool around, remember to use protection. That’s all, I’m leaving, farewell, until we meet again!" After saying this, Mia surprisingly bowed to Yusuf with her fists together, then turned and got out of the car.

Yusuf promptly followed her down, walking behind her towards the terminal.

"Why are you following me? I’m not a child, there’s no need for you to see me off. Go back," Mia stopped and turned to say.

"Is there a flight to Hong Kong now? I’ll help you go in and ask," Yusuf Zuck pondered.

"No flights to Hong Kong, only to Macau, Guangzhou, or Shenzhen. Anyway, it’s just for fun, anywhere is fine. I often get the urge to go on the spur of the moment and never buy tickets in advance."

"It must be nice to be rich," Yusuf Zuck said enviously.

"Having a rich dad is what’s really nice. Actually, I’m not very happy. I feel like my life is just drifting by and being wasted, but I truly don’t know what else to do," Mia continued as she walked on.

"If you have money, spread some wealth. You could donate to some orphanages or homes for the elderly and do volunteer work there every week. That can be interesting."

"I’ve been doing that already. I volunteer at the nursing home every weekend," Mia replied.

"I’m starting to admire you," Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath and said.

"I’m just idle, so you don’t need to admire me. It’s better for you to stay a bit reckless; I feel safer that way. If you became too serious, I’d be afraid."

"Afraid of what?" Yusuf Zuck asked curiously.

"Afraid you’ll fall in love with me and won’t be able to pull yourself away!"

"Pfft, I have needles here!" Yusuf Zuck immediately responded.

"You’re the one with the thick skin. Your face is the thickest," Mia bantered back with Yusuf as they talked and teased.

As they walked and bantered, they entered the terminal. At that time, there indeed were no flights to Hong Kong, and even if there were, there would be no available tickets. However, there was a flight to Shenzhen, but there were no tickets left in economy or business class, only in first class. Mia didn’t hesitate and immediately booked first class.

"Go back, no need to see me off anymore, thank you. You need to be careful yourself, don’t get stabbed in the back," Mia said as she stood at the check-in gate, looking at Yusuf Zuck.

"Let me give you a piece of advice," said Yusuf Zuck. "Find another bodyguard as soon as possible, preferably a woman."

"Oh, you’re worrying about my safety now?" Mia said with a twist of her mouth.

"I’m serious, no joke," Yusuf Zuck said with a stern face.

"Got it. This trip to Hong Kong, my aunt will have it arranged. Just like you said, it will be several female bodyguards. Society is too unsafe now, there are too many who resent the wealthy. I have a sense of proportion," she said.

"Alright then, have a safe trip and go ahead with your check-in," Yusuf Zuck said, waving his hand.

Mia didn’t follow his advice but just cocked her head and looked at him, her eyes blinking charmingly.

"What?" Yusuf Zuck glared at her.

"It’s been many years, I’ve flown all over the world, but no one has ever seen me off and nagged me like you. It feels strange."

"Actually, I just have nothing better to do," Yusuf Zuck said in a low voice.

"Giggle, I just love your smart mouth. Come here, give me a hug, be a gentleman!" Mia said with open arms.

Yusuf Zuck stepped forward and they embraced each other gently, patting each other on the shoulder.

"Take care of yourself, I’m off now. I’ll be back in a few days. You should go home and get some sleep," Mia said after the light hug and turned to leave.

This hug was purely a farewell hug, without any complex thoughts mingled within. Yusuf Zuck was very gentlemanly, and Mia very ladylike.

It was rare for them to say goodbye at the airport in such a manner.

After watching her disappear, Yusuf Zuck turned and left the terminal building. Meanwhile, Mia had successfully boarded the plane, but at that moment she was also mumbling to herself, calling someone a little bastard and wondering why her heart raced just from hugging him, pondering if it was time she needed a man in her life.

...

At the same time, in a hospital in the capital city, Bud Trujillo was furiously roaring, "Find him! Find him and kill him!"

"Bro Bud, searching so blindly might take ages to find him. How about we ask for help from our friends in the precinct?" A few subordinates cautiously surrounded Bud’s bed.

"Damn it, if I report to the police, wouldn’t I die of embarrassment?" Bud cursed.

"Not reporting it, but just quietly asking some friends to help us out, just to find where he’s living and what he’s doing, without involving the police," one subordinate continued.

"Fine, get on it first thing tomorrow, don’t worry about the cost," Bud hummed.

"Understood." The man nodded. If they, a group of people from the fringes of society, were to look for someone in the capital, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. But with the help from insiders at the police, it would be much easier.

PS: Today, the guard goes on the shelves, entering the VIP segment, probably after nine-thirty in the morning. After nine-thirty, I plan to release five Chapters all at once, and then another five around eight in the evening. So the minimum number of Chapters for today, including this one, is eleven.

Of course, I have been waiting for a long time, and my dear readers have been eagerly preparing too, so we can’t skimp on the monthly tickets or recommendation tickets.

Yes, an additional Chapter for every two hundred monthly tickets, and two extra for three hundred monthly tickets. If anyone joins the alliance, that will lead to direct additions.

My personal bodyguard once achieved dazzling success, which was all thanks to our loyal readers. I am hoping we can recreate that glory and continue with the guard. After going on shelves, the updates will be a minimum of three Chapters a day – or four, or five; no more days with only two Chapters. Yep, that’s the plan. Are we ready to go, folks?

Tip: You can use left, right keyboard keys to browse between chapters.Tap the middle of the screen to reveal Reading Options.

If you find any errors (non-standard content, ads redirect, broken links, etc..), Please let us know so we can fix it as soon as possible.
