Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Arguing

"Yusuf Zuck, don’t." As Yusuf Zuck raised his hand to slap Brother Bud across the face, Mia finally shrieked. Yusuf Zuck could hit anyone, but Brother Bud absolutely could not be struck.

Brother Bud, whose real name was Bud Trujillo, had an extraordinary background, and he was a man who would take his revenge for even the smallest slight, a particularly sneaky and petty individual.

She couldn’t let Yusuf Zuck make an enemy of Bud Trujillo; it would be too disadvantageous for Yusuf Zuck to move about in the capital.

However, by that time, Yusuf Zuck’s temper had already flared, and he never took orders from Mia anyway. So, in the moment of Bud Trujillo’s shock, his slap had already landed harshly on Bud’s face.

Yusuf Zuck wasn’t one for pretense, but he sure knew how to smack someone’s mouth.

In fact, Yusuf Zuck was no fool; the moment he brought down Bud Trujillo’s two bodyguards and raised his hand to slap Brother Bud, that grudge was set. So even if he had listened to Mia and hadn’t struck, Bud Trujillo would still seek trouble with him later.

So why not strike hard now if he was destined to be a nuisance anyway?

Show off, and you’re just asking to get struck by lightning!

With a "bang," the scrawny Bud Trujillo was slapped to the ground by Yusuf Zuck, his eyes rolling back, blood flowing from his nose and mouth, lying on the floor in a daze!

"Shit." Mia was going crazy. After swearing fiercely, she grabbed Yusuf Zuck and bolted.

Yusuf Zuck knew they could only do this much; any further fighting would draw a crowd and the police. So if not now, when would they run?

As the two hurried downstairs, they encountered no resistance. At the same time, Mia tossed the car keys to Yusuf Zuck, and obediently sat in the passenger seat, buckling her seatbelt.

With a "vroom," Yusuf Zuck skillfully filled up and drove off quickly.

"You’ve gotten yourself into big trouble. Do you even know who Brother Bud is? Even I don’t dare to mess with him, and yet you hit him," Mia said with a worried face, showing an unusual amount of tension. It turned out that this little lady could be scared too.

"What I want to know is, will he call the cops?" Yusuf Zuck pondered.

"He won’t," Mia immediately shook her head: "If he calls the police, people would laugh him to death. That guy is in the mafia!"

"Oh? My least fear is the mafia, haha!" Yusuf Zuck burst into laughter. If that guy had been a government official or something, Yusuf might have had a reason to fear, but he was just a lowly thug, so what was there to be afraid of?

"His influence is beyond your imagination. He is a member of the Trujillo Family. You know the Trujillo Family, right? His grandfather and father have quite a reputation. Despite his young age, he has a significant presence in this metropolis. Many people give him face, and on top of that, he has a lot of money!"

"How about compared to you?" Yusuf Zuck asked with a smile.

"There’s no comparison."

"That settles it then, he’s not as rich as you," Yusuf Zuck said.

"That’s not how it works. My family may be somewhat rich, but Bud Trujillo’s family is both rich and powerful," Mia argued urgently.

"So what?" Yusuf Zuck curled his lip: "As long as he doesn’t sic the cops on me, why should I fear some lowly thug?"

"Oh, right, I just remembered something." At that moment, Mia suddenly thought of something. Yusuf Zuck in Shanghai had broken the legs of the Nash family’s son, and yet the Nash family did nothing to him.

And it seemed that the Trujillo Family might not even measure up to the Nash family.

"What on earth does your family do? Don’t tell me you’re just another average city dweller. I’ve started to doubt that," Mia said, leaning back in her seat, now relaxed and looking curiously at Yusuf Zuck.

"My family has neither power nor influence. My mom is jobless, surviving by doing odd jobs for others. My dad is a gambler and a heavy drinker, and in these past years, he has left us with nothing. If I hadn’t been saving in secret, we wouldn’t even have had the money for my little sister’s college tuition. So I’m even less than an average city dweller; I’m just a pauper!"

"What about the incident in Shanghai? Why didn’t the Nash family come after you? How did you resolve things with them?" Mia pressed on.

"The Nash family, huh?" Yusuf Zuck thought for a moment and said, "The Nash family might not be in a hurry to deal with me, right? I also don’t know how they let me off the hook; perhaps they think I’m just a small shrimp not worth their effort!"

"Making things up as you go, aren’t you? Do I look like a naïve little girl to you? Easy to fool?" Mia said with a look of disdain.

"You’re not as cute as a little girl; you’re too wild and unruly, I’m not really into you!" Yusuf Zuck said bluntly.

"Pfft!" Mia rolled her eyes in frustration: "As if I need you to like me, you conceited jerk."

"Just take me to the airport then. There’s no fun left in the capital; I’m going to fly to Hong Kong." Mia said suddenly after a moment of silence.

"No way, are you really chickening out?" Yusuf Zuck exaggeratedly said.

"Chickening out my ass. If I stay in the capital, Bud Trujillo will come looking for you through me. If he contacts me and I don’t help, that’s just asking to seriously offend him. And if I do help, I’ll be seriously offending you instead. Out of sight, out of mind; I’ll just go live in Hong Kong for a while."

"You also have a house in Hong Kong?" Yusuf Zuck asked with curiosity.

"Got a couple of properties there, and my aunt’s also in Hong Kong. She’s about to have a birthday, so I’m heading there early."

"Just how rich is your family, gorgeous? Keep me, then I can spare myself the struggle of trying to make it on my own." Yusuf Zuck sighed.

"Keep you, huh? I might consider that. But if I did keep you, wouldn’t Ruth be heartbroken and distressed?"

"Then forget it; for her sake, to spare her the pain and distress, I might as well strive on my own." Yusuf Zuck said with a sly smile.

"Lustful but too timid, eh? Just have an affair with me behind Ruth’s back and keep it secret, wouldn’t that solve the problem?" Mia proposed with a mischievous grin.

"Do I get the feeling you’re setting me up? And aren’t you embarrassed, trying to cuckold your best friend? When I get a chance, I’m going to tell Ms. Wilcox you seduced me; you’re such a bad person!"

"Screw off. Do you think I would really cheat with you? Dream on for another thousand years." Mia said with a look of disdain.

"Yeah, I guess I won’t bother then since I’m not really into you anyway."

"Why are you so mean? I’m gonna strangle you..." Faced with Yusuf Zuck’s continuous insults, Mia was furious. Yusuf Zuck’s mouth was foul and stubborn, not giving her an inch and always putting her down—completely ungentlemanly. Unable to outtalk him, she decided to take action and started pinching him!

"Stop, stop, I give up. I was only joking with you, really. You’re a beauty, petite and cute, fair and tender, like a little scallion; just looking at you makes one’s mood brighten!"

"Hmm, go on, keep it up; I like what I’m hearing." Mia said with a smug smile.

"I’m being honest; you’re pretty, and it’s not true that men aren’t moved by you." Yusuf Zuck spoke honestly.

"Hmph, at least you know what’s good for you." Mia said proudly, cocking her neck.

"True, everything else about you is great—figure, face, skin, those long white legs—but there’s just one flaw." Yusuf Zuck suddenly sighed.

"That I’m wild? Crazy?" Mia proactively pointed out her own flaws.

"That doesn’t count. A girl being a bit wild and crazy is nothing bad; it’s a sign of genuine character, a plus."

"Then what flaw do I have?" Mia asked, puzzled.

"Take a needle and try to prick your own face. If you can’t pierce it through, that means your skin is too thick!"

"Damnit, I’m going to murder you." Mia finally understood—Yusuf Zuck was insinuating that she was shameless.
