Chapter 836: Chapter 832 Going to Hangzhou

After a night of pursuit and counterattack, Ye Fan felt his depression completely vanish. Once he lay on the bed, he quickly fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, when he woke up, he felt refreshed and, while eating breakfast, unexpectedly received a call from Mo Xiaoyan.

What surprised him was that it was about Xie Liping.

The Xie Group made its fortune in Chongqing and had numerous business dealings with the Mo family. Xie’s father, in particular, had a close personal friendship with Mo Xuangu. Last night, Xie Liping was taken away by the police, and once he collected himself, he immediately called his father.

Upon hearing this, Xie’s father was furious, but since he had only one son, and the Xie family legacy needed him to continue, he utilized many connections and finally found Luo Guozhong, only to find the police chief’s attitude surprisingly tough.

With this path broken, Xie’s father had no choice but to find Mo Xuangu, asking him to intervene and have Mo Xiaoyan plead on his behalf.

After going around in circles, they still ended up at Ye Fan.

Ye Fan thought for a moment and asked, “Xiaoyan, what do you think about this matter?”

Mo Xiaoyan said, “I originally thought Xie Liping was just a bit insidious and would play some tricks, but I didn’t expect he would actually dare to send someone to kill you. Brother-in-law, don’t worry about me in this matter; do what you have to do.”

“But regarding your family… Mo Xuangu is, after all, your uncle. Won’t it be difficult for you?” Ye Fan asked.

“Even if the Xie family cuts off business ties with our Mo family because of this, it’s their loss. In ancient martial clans, matters of gratitude and grudges are very clearly distinguished. This incident was entirely brought upon by Xie Liping himself, and the family won’t do anything to me because of it.” Mo Xiaoyan said.

“Hmm, I understand now.”

After chatting for a bit longer, they hung up the phone.

Just as he was about to leave, the phone rang again. He glanced at it, and it was Shen Yan calling.

“Yanyan, what’s up?” Ye Fan asked.

Shen Yan’s voice was evidently excited, “Ye Fan, your car broke down. Why don’t you ride with me to Hangzhou?”

“Are you going too?” Ye Fan asked.

“I don’t have any plans today, and besides, I’m more familiar with the people at the show team there.” Shen Yan said.

Ye Fan replied, “Alright, I’ll come and find you.”

“You don’t have a car; I’ll come get you, and we can go to Hangzhou directly,” Shen Yan said. After Ye Fan gave her the hotel address, she cheered and hung up the phone.

Half an hour later, Shen Yan parked her Maserati Quattroporte in front of the hotel. Just as Ye Fan was about to get in, Shen Yan said, “I’ll sit in the passenger seat, you drive.”

Ye Fan smiled and asked, “Why?”

“I like to watch you drive,” Shen Yan thought for a moment and then added playfully, “just like last night, it’s so cool!”

Shen Yan got out of the car and walked around the front. She was wearing a red-and-white striped short-sleeve top with black edging on the neck and sleeves, perfectly accentuating her feminine curves.

Below, she wore light blue mini shorts, revealing long, fair legs that shone with a tantalizing gloss in the sunlight. She had on light makeup, pale pink lip gloss on her lips, with curled lashes fluttering, giving her a playful yet youthful charm.

Ye Fan found himself taking another look. Shen Yan did not evade his gaze and instead asked, “Do I look good?”

“Yes, very beautiful.” Ye Fan replied, but then quickly changed the topic, “But you have panda eyes.”

Shen Yan said, “After such a thrilling night, who could sleep well?”

Seeing her enjoying the recollection, it was clear she had forgotten the danger and terror of last night, remembering only the excitement and thrill.

“It’s getting late; let’s get going.” Ye Fan didn’t plan to linger on the topic and sat in the driver’s seat.

The Maserati Quattroporte left the Dingsheng International Hotel, heading straight for Hangzhou.

In the car, Shen Yan curiously observed Ye Fan. Ye Fan smiled and asked, “What’s up? Do I have panda eyes too?”

“No panda eyes, but I always feel like you’re hiding a lot from me,” Shen Yan said, counting on her fingers like a little girl, “For example, those people yesterday, why did they want to kill you? How did you get such good driving skills? And how did you defeat those thugs when I was unconscious?”

“You sure have a lot of questions,”

Ye Fan chuckled, pondered for a moment, and said, “About the first question, I have some past conflicts with someone, that guy who peed his pants. Those chasing me were either his bodyguards or hitmen he hired. As for the second and third questions, let me put it this way, I used to serve in the military, so naturally, my combat skills are a bit better, and I got a lot of driving experience in the army, plus I spent some time in Longwan Mountain; I honed many driving skills there.”

He looked at Shen Yan and asked, “Does that satisfy you?”

Shen Yan rested her chin on her palm, admiring him, “You’re so impressive; when you served, you must have been a top-notch soldier, right? Like, um, in the special forces.”

Ye Fan just gave a slight smile and didn’t elaborate.

They chatted on and off, and although Shen Yan was full of enthusiasm, she hadn’t slept well the night before. Eventually, she got drowsy, her head nodding adorably as she dozed off.

Ye Fan reclined her seat slightly so she could lie back, but she seemed to have a nightmare, suddenly clutching Ye Fan’s arm in panic, “No, Ye Fan, don’t leave me!”

Her grip was tight, her chest pressed against his arm. Ye Fan tried moving his arm but felt her hold tighten. Not wanting to wake her, he kept driving with his left hand, letting her hold his right arm.

After finally reaching Hangzhou, Ye Fan called her awake, and Shen Yan groggily opened her eyes, shocked by the sensation in her embrace, “Ah! Thi-this this…”

She quickly pushed away Ye Fan’s arm, “Ye Fan, you, you’re a bully!”

But Ye Fan’s right hand was numb, and he showed a pained expression. Shen Yan asked quickly, “Are you okay?”

Ye Fan replied, “I didn’t want to wake you, so I was held like that all the way from Hua Hai to Hangzhou, and now my hand is numb.”

Realizing she misunderstood Ye Fan, Shen Yan blushed with embarrassment and apologized, holding his arm and massaging it gently.

It was a painful yet enjoyable process.

By noon, they had lunch at Manshu Kaiseki in West Lake District, rested for a bit, and then drove to the music studio prepared by the ‘China’s Good Voice’ program for the trainees.

The Maserati Quattroporte parked at the side, instantly drawing attention.

There were quite a few reporters and paparazzi on-site for interviews and stakeouts. With keen eyes, some recognized the car, and over a dozen reporters and paparazzi hurried over, cameras in hand.

In the car, Ye Fan put on a mask and asked, “Yanyan, are you returning to Hua Hai tonight?”

Shen Yan nodded, “Yes, we’ll go back together tonight; you can teach me how to drift!”

Ye Fan smiled, opened the car door, and got out.

The prisoner was coming.
