Invincible Young Master in the City
Chapter 524 - 524 520 Return to the Capital City

524: Chapter 520: Return to the Capital City 524: Chapter 520: Return to the Capital City The 11:30 flight, Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun were seated in first class, next to each other.

After the plane had taken off, Li Zhaojun turned her head to look at Ye Fan’s resolute profile and called out, “Ye Fan.”

Upon hearing her, Ye Fan slightly turned his face to meet Li Zhaojun’s bright and cold gaze.

“Is there anything in particular I should take note of for the old man’s birthday celebration?” Li Zhaojun asked softly.

Ye Fan shook his head slightly, saying, “No need.

My family is very harmonious.

Just be yourself.”

“Okay,” Li Zhaojun replied softly.

After a pause, She Said, “This time when we return to the Capital, could you find some time to accompany me to visit my mother?”

“Of course,” Ye Fan said.

Although he had firmly decided to divorce, he still had to fulfill his duties and responsibilities.

Besides, it was Li Zhaojun who was accompanying him back to the Capital this time.

“Thank you,” Li Zhaojun said, then chatted with Ye Fan about this and that.

Ye Fan was somewhat preoccupied and responded absentmindedly.

Li Zhaojun initiated a conversation with Ye Fan for about seven or eight minutes, and seeing that Ye Fan was not in the mood to chat, she stopped talking, straightened up in her seat, leaned back lightly against the chair, and closed her beautiful eyes to rest.

Two hours later, the airplane descended upon the Capital.

Exiting the airport, a well-dressed middle-aged man stepped forward and respectfully called to Ye Fan, “Young Master.”

Ye Fan smiled and nodded back, saying, “Hmm, Uncle Nian.”

“Young Madam,” the middle-aged man then respectfully addressed Li Zhaojun.

Li Zhaojun nodded slightly and replied, “Hello, Uncle Nian.”

Uncle Nian proceeded to offer to carry Ye Fan’s luggage, but Ye Fan shook his head and said, “It’s fine, I can carry it myself.”

Uncle Nian did not insist and then led Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun to an elegant and distinguished black Bentley.

A little over an hour later, the Bentley carrying Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun drove into a villa complex and stopped in front of a grand villa’s front gate after a few minutes.

Uncle Nian had the voice-controlled key for the gate, which he opened directly from the car, then drove the car in.

Having parked in the spacious courtyard of the villa, Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun got out of the car and were about to retrieve their luggage when the villa’s main door opened, and Qiao Feixuan quickly stepped out.

“Mom!” Ye Fan greeted her happily, not bothering to fetch the luggage anymore, “We’re back.”

Li Zhaojun also stepped forward with a smile and called, “Mom.”

Approaching Qiao Feixuan, Ye Fan wore a smile, expecting Qiao Feixuan to, as usual, eagerly grasp his hand first and then affectionately comment that he had lost weight again.

Unexpectedly, Qiao Feixuan, with smiling eyes, reached out to take Li Zhaojun’s delicate hand, examined her pretty face, and then affectionately said, “Jun’er, how come you’ve lost weight?”

A frozen smile crept onto Ye Fan’s face.

Immediately afterward, Qiao Feixuan turned to him and lightly chided, “Ye Fan, haven’t you been taking good care of your wife?

She’s become so thin!”

Ye Fan opened his mouth, momentarily at a loss for words.

“Mom, you’re wronging Fan.

He’s taken good care of me, just that work has been a bit busy lately,” Li Zhaojun said.

“You’re always defending him.

He doesn’t do a thing over there, and as a result, he can’t even take care of his wife,” Qiao Feixuan said.

“These few days at home, throw work to one side and rest up, understand?”

Li Zhaojun replied, “Got it, Mom.”

Qiao Feixuan chuckled, “That’s my good daughter-in-law.”

With that, she warmly pulled Li Zhaojun into the house.

Ye Fan, who had been left hanging to dry, smiled wryly.

He used to find his mother’s closeness every time he came home annoying, but now that she finally wasn’t so close to him, he felt lost and uncomfortable.

He turned and went back to the Bentley to get his luggage, then Ye Fan entered the house.

Walking into the foyer on the first floor and not seeing Qiao Feixuan and Li Zhaojun, Ye Fan, carrying his luggage, went upstairs, where he finally saw them sitting on the second-floor living room sofa holding hands, chatting.

Ye Fan passed through the living room, Li Zhaojun glanced at Ye Fan, but Qiao Feixuan ignored him, busily inquiring about Li Zhaojun’s well-being.

However, he carried his luggage into his room.

As he started unpacking his suitcase, the door was gently pushed open—it was Li Zhaojun following him in.

Li Zhaojun approached and began to help with the unpacking.

“Why aren’t you talking to my mom?” Ye Fan asked.

Li Zhaojun chuckled, “Mom went downstairs.”

“Oh,” Ye Fan acknowledged.

A few minutes later, when most of the stuff was almost put away, Ye Fan took a towel from the closet, and then new toothbrushes and toothpaste from the cubby that had only been placed there in the last two or three days, before heading to the bathroom to wash up.

Although Ye Fan’s room wasn’t the master bedroom, it still had a spacious bathroom.

Halfway through brushing his teeth, Ye Fan heard footsteps behind him and turned to see Li Zhaojun also coming with a towel and toothbrush in hand.

Not only that, but Li Zhaojun had already changed clothes, now wearing a set of loose and simple homewear.

In the past, when he shared a room with Li Zhaojun, they would take turns doing their washing up.

Now, with Li Zhaojun coming in, he felt a bit strange.

While he was still stunned, Li Zhaojun had already made her way to the washbasin, turned on the tap, and started cleaning the cup and toothbrush.

Ye Fan snapped back to reality, watched Li Zhaojun as she finished cleaning and then picked up the toothpaste he had been using and applied it to her toothbrush.

After putting toothpaste on her toothbrush, Li Zhaojun seemed to realize that Ye Fan had been watching her all along.

She turned and asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Nothing, nothing,” Ye Fan replied with his mouth full of foam, realizing he really couldn’t say anything.

Li Zhaojun pursed her sexy lips, then faced the washbasin and began brushing her teeth elegantly.

Suddenly, Ye Fan remembered a phrase he had read somewhere: When a woman doesn’t avoid a man with less dignified behaviors in life, such as washing up, it means she has fully accepted him.

Ye Fan didn’t know if this statement was true, but he could at least see that compared to the last time his mother visited Hua Hai City and he was forced to share a room with Li Zhaojun, Li Zhaojun was now treating him even more like her husband.

What to do?

It would have been a good thing in the past, but now it had become his psychological burden.

He smiled bitterly to himself, set aside his distracting thoughts for the moment, and shared the washbasin with Li Zhaojun.

Nevertheless, even while performing something as unglamorous as washing up, he discovered that Li Zhaojun was still graceful in her movements, naturally exuding a pleasing beauty.

After they finished washing up, Ye Fan hesitated before saying, “After we eat something, we should go pay respects to the old master.

There’s no need to change into other clean clothes; just wear the same ones we wore on the plane.”

“Okay.

I’ll change back into them,” Li Zhaojun responded.

Fortunately, Li Zhaojun changed clothes in the bathroom and didn’t do it in front of him, otherwise his stress would have been greater.

After Li Zhaojun went into the bathroom to change, Ye Fan mentally cheered himself on, whispering, “It’s only for two nights, I should be able to handle it.”
