Chapter 171: Chapter 171: [Extra] Go Pour Brother Tan a Glass of Water
Tan Bo’s words had reached this point; if Jiang Yurou continued to refuse, he might really start to suspect something.
So, with no other choice, Jiang Yurou had to compromise, "Alright, then."
When Jiang Yurou uttered these words, a sly smile flashed across Tan Bo’s face, which she noticed, "What are you smiling about?"
Tan Bo’s expression returned to its usual calmness, "Did I smile?"
"You did smile, I saw it."
"You must have seen it wrong."
Inwardly, Jiang Yurou cursed Tan Bo; he was definitely doing it on purpose!
After getting out of the car, Jiang Yurou was not in a rush to go back to her apartment; she turned to Tan Bo, "I suddenly feel like eating some fruit."
Although Tan Bo was unsure of what Jiang Yurou was up to this time, he still nodded in agreement, "Alright, then let’s go to the supermarket and buy some fruit to eat."
Seeing Tan Bo getting ready to get back into the car, Jiang Yurou quickly stopped him, "No need to drive, let’s walk. There’s a supermarket nearby."
"Okay," Tan Bo pocketed his keys.
"Mm-hmm," Jiang Yurou responded and walked side by side with Tan Bo towards the supermarket.
As soon as they arrived at the supermarket, Jiang Yurou pushed the cart straight to the fruit section, picked some pre-cut Musang King durians, a box of strawberries at ninety-nine each, cherry plums, king lychees, ruby grapefruits... she had everything covered.
If it had been any normal day, Jiang Yurou would definitely not buy these fruits, but since Tan Bo was going to stay at her place today, wasn’t it fitting to show some generosity?
Seeing the fruits Jiang Yurou had selected, Tan Bo raised his eyebrows and quipped, "Jiang Yurou, is your stomach made of diamonds?"
Jiang Yurou looked back at him playfully, "No, it’s made of gold."
Tan Bo watched her, his gaze carrying a hint of amusement, "Fine, there are snacks over there too; want to buy some of those?"
"You reminded me, I actually forgot that I don’t have any snacks at home," said Jiang Yurou as she made her way to the snack aisle.
She grabbed a variety of flavored potato chips first, chocolate, and lemon-flavored chicken feet were also essentials. In a short while, Jiang Yurou filled the shopping cart to the brim, and the role of pushing the cart passed on to Tan Bo.
After the selection, Tan Bo pushed the cart to the cashier. The cashier, a girl in her twenties, was momentarily taken aback by the pile of fruits then called an assistant over to scan the items together.
It took about ten minutes to scan all the items, filling up four large plastic bags.
"The total is 2489.5 yuan. Do you have a membership? If not, you can get a 9.5% discount if you sign up now," the cashier asked.
Tan Bo took out a card from his wallet and replied, "No need, just..."
Before Tan Bo could finish speaking, Jiang Yurou stepped in front of him and said to the cashier, "Don’t listen to him, we’ll get a membership."
It would be such a waste not to get a membership after spending so much; they could accumulate quite a few points.
"Who will sign up for the membership?"
"I will," replied Jiang Yurou.
"Alright, miss, please provide your mobile number."
After the membership was arranged, Tan Bo still took care of the payment, but the two of them were troubled by the sight of the four plastic bags; how the hell were they going to carry them back!
In the end, it was Tan Bo who had to go back and drive the car over, before they could finally get the stuff delivered back home.
After returning home, Jiang Yurou neatly stored the fruits and drinks in the refrigerator, then went back to the living room, tore open a bag of potato chips on the table, and casually lay on the couch snacking and watching TV, without any self-awareness of being the host.
Tan Bo gazed at the living room, now in complete disarray, and felt a bit of a headache. Didn’t he just clean up the last time he was here? How did it become like this again? It seemed like he was in for a major cleaning project tonight...
"Jiang Yurou, where’s the robot vacuum cleaner I brought you last time?" Tan Bo looked around but couldn’t find it.
Jiang Yurou, with her legs casually propped up on the couch watching TV, didn’t even shift her gaze when she heard Tan Bo, "That thing was so poorly made, it broke less than two days after I started using it."
"And what about the broom I left on the balcony?"
"I think I took it to the kitchen."
With a resigned sigh, Tan Bo went to the kitchen, retrieved the broom, and swept up the living room inside and out, then mopped the floor with water.
After cleaning the floor, it was time for the couch. Tan Bo walked over, folded all the clothes Jiang Yurou had tossed on the couch, and arranged the plush toys neatly.
Once all this was done, he finally nodded in satisfaction, then sat down on the couch to rest.
Jiang Yurou looked at the now sparkling clean living room, momentarily stunned. She had always known that Tan Bo was not a spoiled person at home. He was different from Cheng Yi. Cheng Yi had grown up in wealth, whereas Tan Bo had been raised in relative poverty, and thus, he had always taken care of himself since he was young.
"Tan Bo, you’re too amazing, how would I ever get by without you!" Although this wasn’t Jiang Yurou’s first time witnessing Tan Bo’s handiness, she was still amazed every time.
Tan Bo glanced at her and said directly, "Stop buttering me up, go pour your Brother Tan a glass of water."
Jiang Yurou saluted him with a smile and replied, "Sure, no problem."
Jiang Yurou not only got Tan Bo a glass of water but also cut some fruit and brought it out.
Then, the two of them found a movie and sat down on the couch to watch it together; the scene was very harmonious.
The movie they were watching was "My Name," starring Xinan and Ran Shasha. Watching the familiar faces, Jiang Yurou was once again astounded by their acting, as the Xinan and Ran Shasha in the movie seemed like completely different people.
Later in the film, Jiang Yurou suddenly turned to Tan Bo with a curious thought, "Who do you think is the better actor, Nannan or Sister Shasha?"
She had expected Tan Bo to give a vague answer, but instead, he said plainly, "Nannan, I guess..."
"Why?"
He glanced at her and said, "No particular reason, I just enjoy Nannan’s acting style more, a bit more nuanced with her emotions."
Of course, the main reason was that she was his good buddy’s wife.
Jiang Yurou nodded, pretending to understand, "Okay then."
After the movie was over, Jiang Yurou went back to her room to take a shower, without addressing where Tan Bo would sleep that night. When she came out, she saw someone lying on her bed.
Jiang Yurou walked over with a frown, tugged at Tan Bo’s arm, and asked, "If you’re sleeping here, where am I supposed to sleep?"
Tan Bo’s face was half-buried in the blankets, and Jiang Yurou’s tugging didn’t seem to affect him; he continued to lay motionless on the bed.
"Tan Bo!" Jiang Yurou let go of his arm and hollered.
Tan Bo still didn’t move.
Jiang Yurou stared at him irritably, "I know you’re pretending."
