Chapter 343 - 343 - Necessary Conversations (Part 2)

Dimitri's sniffing suddenly stopped replaced by a few hiccups from too much crying. I thought he would get angry instead but after a few seconds, his tears flowed again but this time like rivers while looking at me and this time he was sobbing loudly as if I bullied him badly.

I was surprised at this sudden turn of events and the burst of his emotions as if a dam was opened. I stood up from my seat quickly and approached him. I gave him a tight hug to try and calm him down.

He did not refuse my embrace but he started hitting my back with his fists, not too hard but enough to knock a normal human unconscious I guess. He then started scolding me nonstop as he said, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?! You must have not told the others too! Do you know how miserable we may have felt when we can't even do that one thing we were expected to do? Men are dime a dozen in this world. If a man can't get pregnant within the first year of marriage, they are deemed as useless and can be legally abandoned!"

I endured all the hits on my back and tapped his back gently in return instead to calm him down. It took several minutes before he finally stopped the hits and his anger died down. Together with the calming of his anger, he started apologizing frantically for hitting me and he kept on checking if my back was hurt.

I repeatedly assured him that I was fine and my body was sturdy. It is not that I did not get hurt, it is just that my body's recovery rate is too fast that I bruise won't even show up after being hit physically.

I stole a kiss from his lips to ease his worries and stop him from asking me again if I was alright. It was quite effective as he ended up stunned and speechless. His face, neck and his ears ended up blushing furiously due to getting kissed out of the blue.

Since he's perfectly calm now, I asked him the same question, "Now that we have cleared up the misunderstandings and now that you know the existence of the seal, would you want to have a child with me during the honeymoon or do you have a specific time you want to get pregnant?"

He looked at me and for some reason, his eyes are showing happiness and traces of feeling touched. He then replied, "I want to have a child during our honeymoon just like with your first two husbands. The semester is about to end anyways so there is there would be no problems as long as I just stay careful. Even Ioannis continued taking classes for at least a few months till his bump can no longer be hidden. Once this semester ends which will be just 2-3 months away, I can go back to Arista and stay with my grandparents to help manage the farm till its time to give birth. I think the fresh air and the light load of work would be good for me."

I smiled at him and nodded. I readily agreed with his plan since it will ensure that he can reduce his workload and his grandparents can take care of him while he's pregnant. It will also ease my worries as well. There's a protective barrier in the estate and the town anyways so my grandparents-in-law and Dimitri will be safe at all times.

I would have loved to keep him with me here in Hoffen City during the whole duration of his pregnancy like Kayden but he has a place to go home to. He is the only heir left in his household and it would calm his grandparents if they can take care of him during that sensitive time. I can just visit him often like how I plan to do for husband number two and bring him food and gifts that he likes.

I did ask him if it is alright with him to delay the honeymoon to about two weekends later so he can arrange everything in his schedule and the requirements he needed for his current classes first. He also has to tell the academe about him stopping his studies and going back home at the end of the year.

He readily agreed and even asked me if the time can be extended a bit more. He requested for our honeymoon to be moved to four weekends later instead. He told me that I also have to manage the Athanoviyan marriage rituals first with the royal family too so I can lessen the things I am worrying about. I could only smile dotingly at Dimitri seeing how understanding of a man he is.

Dimitri may seem like he was always quiet and passive but he wasn't a pushover. He has always been considerate and he liked to look at the bigger picture. He could have been fussy and dramatic to get attention but he had always been the matured one in terms of resolving issues.

As for me, any amount of delay for me is fine since what I am after is making sure to put a bit more gaps of time for the births of my children. Since he was the one who gave the amount of time he needed, I did not ask any further questions or haggled with him.

It was a mere deviation from the original plan and it only takes one telepathic message to let my mother know about it. It wouldn't disrupt anything else I have planned for the near future.

Dimitri is definitely a workaholic. He was a bookworm and too studious during his time here in the academe. It is normal for him to sleep late and forget about eating on time due to the number of academe units he decided to take this semester. He readily agreed to my arrangement though I don't exactly know how he can reduce his workload with the number of classes he has right now. Well, he can handle that on his own since he has always had his priorities clear.

After our private discussion that did not even last for an hour, we came out from the study as calmly as we did when we went in. Much to me and Dimitri's surprise, the other guys except Arthur, are still seated around the dining table. They must have been waiting for us to come out or maybe they thought that I will also talk to each of them in private.

They gave the two of us questioning looks and it doesn't help to prove my innocence at all that Dimitri's eyes are a little red and puffy from crying. Before they could ask any questions, I clarified, "I admit. I made him cry. As to the reason why he cried, I really can't tell you as of the moment so I have to apologize in advance. The issues we discussed have all been resolved anyways."

I still received a lot of glances full of doubt and accusation which was kind of expected given the situation. Husband number three has always been quiet, never complained, never got angry or even cried even once. They must have thought that I bullied him thoroughly for him to end up crying like this.

Dimitri just gave a small smile to everyone and nodded at each of the people around the dining table politely. He then bid all of them a "good night" and started walking back to his room slowly.

I also bid everybody a good night. As I started to walk back to my room in the opposite direction. Dimitri suddenly stopped walking and walked back to my direction quickly. He grabbed my hand tightly and started pulling me to his own room with force. Everything happened so fast that in a matter of seconds, I just found myself inside his room and sitting on the edge of his bed.

I looked at him in disbelief. I reminded we should both get some needed rest tonight since it was a weekday and we need to wake up early tomorrow. I clearly told him that I have no plans to tire him out or make him lose sleep since he has a full schedule of classes everyday of the week.

He chuckled mischievously and said, "I am not asking for it at all. Let's just hug and sleep beside each other. I know we both have early classes tomorrow. I can control my own desires. I am just not sure about you."

I stared at him with eyes full of doubts. Why do I feel like he was giving me a punishment instead of an honest invitation?

It is not like I can't control myself. I am just sincerely hoping that this is not one of those instances that I end up getting scolded the next morning since I really did not do anything. This has happened way too many times before with all my husbands. I still end up in trouble even if they were the ones that told me that we will just hug each other to sleep.
