Chapter 87: Forgiveness?
Chapter 87: Forgiveness?
Life seemed to pause...
The air was cold, too cold that it could quench a breath.
Jayden was completely wide-eyed as he stared at his mother lying lifeless on the bed, turning colder and paler with every passing second.
He couldn’t believe it.
"No, mom... Mom no," his voice broke, filled with despair. He grabbed her stiff hand and gripped tight, stream of tears trickling down his temples.
Tom was also deep in tears, as the three kids hugged him tight as they cried as well.
"Dad, what happened to mommy?" The youngest of them asked, sobbing.
"I’m going to miss mommy... Tell her to wake up," the second to th youngest said.
The one who appeared to be the oldest only wept with her father without saying a word, completely saddened.
Jayden then understood something.
’She has three kids with another man?’
He was stunned but didn’t try showing it too much. Tom was giving him a saddened look, and it felt like they both were feeling the same thing.
The nurses had to step in to console the family, but Jayden was just more interested on asking questions.
Eyes on Tom, as Naylah’s body was forwarded to another room.
"Since when?" He glared at Tom and asked.
"A few years after we got married. We already knew her days were numbered, and that’s why she came to get justice for your father before she dies. The deadline was to be in three months or even half a year, but when she discovered she had failed trying to win the case, it happened to have gotten worse," Tom said.
Jayden’s jaw dropped at that, his eyes completely reddened.
"I’m sorry, Jayden. She... She had always been sorry for leaving you. She thought helping your father find justice would make you forgive her at least, but unfortunately, she failed," Tom added.
Jayden gave a faint stare and nodded, still speechless. He then turned to the children... All girls, deep in tears and they couldn’t do with their mom being dead.
Jayden felt as much pain as they felt as well, but what could he do?
He was really heartbroken that his mother had done more than just leaving him... She also started a new life in another state.
Jayden completely felt betrayed, but it wasn’t a new feeling to him anymore. He had faced it times and times again and he was ready to stay strong against it this time.
Vena, Teresa, and Katie... He just got their names from their father, but he wasn’t ready to act like big brother... Not today.
With tears, he left the hospital and went back to the villa.
It had already been six hours since he left, and the ladies had been worried about his him.
Jayden came back with a completely blank look, down. That was enough to reveal that was something was wrong.
"You suddenly left without saying a word, what happened?" Temi quickly rushed and asked, her face filled with concern.
"What happened, Jayden. Talk to us?" Becky asked.
"Hey," and then Camilia approached, his eyes striking his. "What’s the problem?"
It was until she struck that stare that he decided to speak, however, the words weren’t still clear.
"For years, I have been surviving with the idea that I have no parents anymore... But today is the very first time I had felt it."
They all furrowed their brows as they exchanged glances, confused.
Jayden had to step into the house before he could go straight. His mood was worrying, and they knew it was no easy case.
Then he finally told them...
"My mother died today. Now I’m officially an orphan, but don’t worry, I already learned how to be one a long time ago."
The ladies were saddened by the news, especially after seeing Jayden so down at that moment. Sure, they knew she had wronged him greatly after abandoning him for years, it was still natural to mourn one’s mother, no matter what she had done.
The entire day was completely bad, as Jayden spent it mourning his mother, at least even though his heart still seemed heavy.
In the end, he judged he just had to let things go... He just have to do away with the heavy heart.
And in the end...
Lol"I’ll fulfill your wish, mom. For dad, for us... And... And..."
Jayden paused as he gritted his teeth, as if he was finding it hard to let out a certain statement.
But then he did.
"I forgive you, mom. I do."

Silas and Kurtis were seated in the executive office inside the villa when Luka walked in with a dark look.
Approaching them, they noticed that he wasn’t looking okay.
"Hey, what’s with that look?" Kurtis asked as he tried to force a smile.
"Nothing. Naylah is dead," Luka said, lowering his head.
"What?! That’s not true... Who told you that... We just forwarded her to New Life Hospital two days ago, and she was visibly okay!" Kurtis shouted as he had his eyes widened.
"Well, you never knew what was wrong with her. She has cancer, and was only trying to fight her husband’s battle before she joins him, for her son, Jayden," Luka said as he bounced on the gold sofa in frustration.
"She failed," then Silas cut in.
"Right. She failed," Kurtis gave his brother a glance and said, his eyes suddenly turning red.
"We all failed. We should be ashamed of ourselves... We let the villain retain his reign. I can’t imagine it," Silas added, clenching his fist.
But Kurtis gave him a motivating stare with a serious look. "Just because we lost the car doesn’t mean we have failed. We can still take Gregory down."
"Really? What are you trying to say? Have Jayden join us to raise another different case against him?" Silas asked, his tone harsh.
"No. We can’t even get Jayden into this anymore. He would never want to ally with us after what happened with his mother. It’s a complete red light," Luka cut in.
And truly, what he said made sense, but Silas and Luka had really not understood where he was going.
He had to bring up the big idea.
"I never said anything about Jayden. I’m talking about something more important... Something more powerful. One that Gregory wouldn’t be able to escape."
"Which is?" Silas stared and asked.
Then Kurtis, with a smile, turned to Luka and then to Silas...
"The Dominus."
