Just like that, Jayden had squeezed his way into her after plotting every move with her bodyguard and the hefty guy that had just attempted to attack her.

All that was planned, and the only thing to be happy about here was that it was successful.

"I think calling you My Hero would be better," Becky smiled at him and said.

"Well, it will be my pleasure, Miss Becky," Jayden replied with a bright face.

It was then that the bodyguard suddenly rushed out of the mall with a look of unease.

"Boss!" he shouted as he rushed to her.

"You are such a joke of a bodyguard. You left me out here, and I was almost killed. If not for this handsome man here, I don’t know what would have happened to me!" Becky barked.

"You know what, Corey? You are fired!" she added, as her tone went wilder.

Jayden suddenly flinched.

"No, boss. You can’t do this. I actually lost track of you because the mall was too crowded. I’m so sorry," Corey began to beg.

"If you were doing your job properly, you shouldn’t have lost track of me. You should have been beside me all through. You can’t protect me, Corey," Becky said with a serious look as she glared.

And then, it was time for Jayden to cut in.

"Miss Becky. I think you should forgive him. Yeah, I know he messed up by not doing his best to protect you, but you know, we all make mistakes. That’s what makes us human," Jayden said with a smile, looking her right in the eyes.

Becky seemed to have calmed down with those words... Just by staring at his face alone had tamed her, and for a moment, she was lost...

She was completely getting charmed.

"I plead on his behalf. Give him another chance," Jayden added, making sure that the guy who had helped him with this plan didn’t lose his job in the process.

Becky turned to Corey after that.

"Well, then. You are lucky My Hero wants me to forgive you. It would have been another case," she said as she frowned slightly at him. "You’re retaining your job."

"Thank you, ma’am," Corey quickly bowed slightly as he heaved a sigh of relief, delighted.

And that instant, Jayden winked at him, and in return, he raised the middle finger instead, but Becky didn’t notice any of those.

"My Hero, how about we have lunch together? Uhh... I mean—"

"Sure. Sure... I’m in," Jayden quickly responded.

"Alright then... Let’s go," she gave an excited smile as she entered her Range Rover Evoque.

Corey took care of the driving, and then Jayden went straight into his Nova X before following up.

They settled in a VVIP restaurant at the view of a lake for lunch. Becky, who almost everyone knew as a cold figure to all men after what her ex-boyfriend did to her, was now calm and friendly to Jayden Cole.

Even Corey never expected it. He even thought that the plan wouldn’t work in the first place, but now he saw that his guesses were wrong.

Becky was happy and free-minded with a guy for the first time since he had known her, and even though it was somehow surprising, Corey was still glad.

This Jayden guy must be a charmer. For sure, he thought.

Later that day, Jayden just happened to have hooked her to the edge. He collected her number and even promised to chat her up. What’s more? Before she even left, she took it upon herself to approach him.

There in the VVIP section, there was no one. Only them... Well, Corey was at the entrance area, but he could see little to nothing of what was going on.

Becky moved closer and pressed her lips on his, but Jayden didn’t react, not moving. She was this close to withdrawing from him when he suddenly grabbed her and made his move, and then the kissing session went wild.

Surely, they did nothing silly other than that, and when they were about to leave, Jayden told her about their next meeting.

During their chat during lunch, he already told her that he lived in Cloudbridge City, and she would be meeting him there the day after tomorrow.

Becky didn’t even hesitate before agreeing to his invite, and with that, things were pretty smooth.
