Chapter 58: Dungeon Raid (1)
(Inside the Dean’s Office)
"You saw the match, didn’t you, Sandra?" The voice of an older man echoed through the room as Lysandra lifted her head from the papers she was reading.
She leaned back in her chair and smiled. "Well, I’m not as idle as you are, but yes, I did see the match."
The old man took another sip of his tea and set the cup down.
He was dressed in noble attire, his black and grey hair slicked back, and his green eyes sharp with amusement.
After a pause, he suddenly burst into laughter. "As his father-in-law, I’m proud."
Lysandra scoffed. "You mean his first father-in-law."
Reynold shook his head. "Don’t you know?" he replied without hesitation. "All his wives are either fatherless or orphans—except for my Amelia." He added, "Besides, that brat went out of his way to win over Janet and me."
Lysandra tapped her pen lightly on the desk. "Well, I won’t lie. The chances of Kim Ha-joon leading this generation are slim."
Reynold raised an eyebrow. "Slim? Not impossible?"
Lysandra offered a sly smirk. "Yes, not impossible. There’s only one way he could turn the tables."
Reynold leaned forward on the couch, his expression turning serious as he listened intently.
Lysandra leaned in as well. "Reynold, you know we’re part of the third generation. Queen Alica and your wife Janet are part of the fourth generation, while Selena Arcain and her sister belong to the sixth."
Reynold nodded silently.
Lysandra rose from her chair and looked out the window behind her, taking in the view of the academy.
"But..." she continued, "have you ever wondered why we don’t hear anything about the fifth generation anymore?"
Reynold responded in a serious tone, "Isn’t it because they were all weak and eventually overshadowed by the sixth generation of monsters?"
Lysandra glanced at him briefly before returning her gaze to the window. "No. Someone eliminated and crippled every single main member of that generation. By the time it happened, he hadn’t yet had his official ceremony, so he wasn’t recorded as a member of that generation."
She turned and slid her finger along the table as if tracing a line in the dust. "He was later sealed by his race, the Western Dwarves—and five years ago, he was released." She then asked, "Now, Reynold, which generation do you think that brat, sealed at ten years old, would belong to?"
Reynold’s eyes widened in shock. "The current first years."
Lysandra smiled and locked eyes with him. "Yes. The monster who wiped out the fifth generation, an official member of the seventh generation, and the only one who can rival Arthur Arcain." Her eyes narrowed. "... The giant of the dwarves, Naza El Salvador."

(In Front of the Gate)
As soon as Arthur spoke his final words, the entire crowd of students erupted, some in disbelief, others in awe, and the rest in sheer hype.
"No way! Did you see that?!"
"Doesn’t that mean he’s the strongest in our generation?"
"Yeah, that was Ha-joon’s Reality Slash, right?"
"No chance I’m using an ultimate move in front of that guy."
But the thought running through all their minds was:
"If he can copy anything, doesn’t that mean he has unlimited potential in battle?"
...
Ellie giggled while counting the money she had won from her bets. "Kikikiki... this is why I love nobles, they’re such suckers."
Amelia narrowed her eyes. "Ellie, you were a noble too."
Ellie gave her a look, then shrugged. "As you’ve said "before". Dropping to commoner status taught me a thing or two."
Cassie chimed in, "I don’t think you’re supposed to be proud of being poor, Ellie."
Ellie turned to her with wide, innocent eyes. "But if you always act rich, no one gives you free stuff." She leaned closer to Cassie. "And doesn’t senior Cassie act poor in front of our husband?"
Cassie’s cheeks turned crimson. "That’s because I don’t have money... And... I know Arthur will always help."
Ellie sighed and nodded. "Exactly. We have the best husband on the planet."
Amelia smiled like she’d just won a prize. "Even that might be an understatement."
...
Arthur stared at Ha-joon with a sigh.
It was truly baffling how that guy had ever managed to kill him so many times in the game, or how he had even become the protagonist.
But his bigger problem now was the goddess Sylvia.
What would she do?
Arthur sheathed the blade smoothly and turned away. ’No point stressing over what might not even happen.’
His plate was already full.
He had to complete the 48th scenario, figure out the reason behind his transmigration, stay as far from the goddess and her schemes as possible, meet up with Moonlight Dusk, and bring the generation war to an end.
And then there was one more thing that had recently come back to him.
What exactly made Isabella become the Gold Digger.
The reason he’d brushed it aside, or rather, ignored it—for the past three years was because Isabella hadn’t shown any signs of changing. The signal for the Gold Digger’s rise hadn’t appeared yet.
It was around this time, subtle traces of the Gold Digger started to surface, at least in all routes he played.
And in about a month or two, she would become Moonlight Dusk’s number two, and eventually the greatest merchant.
However, Arthur needed to know why someone so loyal to her master—Arthur Arcain, someone whose entire existence revolved around him, would abandon him for most of the game, even after learning he was alive.
She had said she was looking for her master... but given the intel she had, there was no way she hadn’t figured out that Arthur was at the academy.
Arthur sighed. ’One step at a time, alright?’
His wives were important—yes, but so was his mental well-being.
---
"Alright, sweethearts, are you ready to depart?"
No one responded, but their expressions told Professor Rebecca everything she needed to know.
She nodded and pointed toward the gate. "The test will commence immediately. At the end of three days, you’ll be teleported back."
She lowered her hand. "As you already know, you’ll have to find your own food and shelter inside. And if you die..."
She drew a finger across her throat, causing nearly all the students to flinch slightly.
"Now, without further ado..." The gate’s glow intensified, making everyone either squint or shield their eyes. "Let the dungeon raid begin..."
