Chapter 34: Stalker (1)

(Inside a room in the academy)

"Mmmhh! Nnngh! Aaaah!"

The sound of stifled moans echoed through a dimly lit room.

The only source of light was a screen projecting Arthur Arcain’s match with Kim Ha-joon.

The footage soon shifted to when he and the 999 first years were entering the arena, with fans and crowds cheering for them.

"Damn it, I thought I set it to not go that far in the footage."

The busty young woman watching the footage quickly rewound by circling her wrist backward.

"Fuck! Those horns," she moaned, biting down on her lip.

"I just want to hold them while calling him daddy," the woman’s moans grew louder.

Then, without warning, she stopped, turned off the projector, and stepped out of the room.

"This isn’t enough. I need the real thing." She grabbed her keys and left.

’The first years are supposed to be having a party, right?’

She wore a short skirt that revealed her plump thighs, each step making the fabric flutter slightly, revealing nothing.

Her tight shirt clung to her figure, the top button nearly giving way under the pressure of her ample chest.

’My darling Arthur will be waiting for me.’

------

After the exams ended, the first years had a hard time pushing through the crowd of fanatics. But once they did, they had to meet with different teachers.

Arthur had slipped away using a call from his mother as an excuse, but even he couldn’t avoid attending the after-party.

"Hey, big bro."

Arthur turned to see Ravian walking beside Emily.

"Hmm... You two look good together."

Ravian’s cheeks flushed. He glanced at Emily, who remained expressionless, then looked back at Arthur.

"Big bro, don’t say stuff like that."

Arthur grinned and pulled him aside. "Want your big bro to give you some advice?"

Ravian’s eyes lit up. "Yeah."

Arthur nodded. "Just act casual. Then, when she needs help, assist her like it’s no big deal—but give it your all."

Ravian nodded slowly. "Is that so?" He paused. "Is that how you got my sister and your other two wives?"

Arthur smiled awkwardly. "Sure. Trust me."

’Yeah, one was always dangerously in love with me, the other was basically bound to me, and the last just liked my kind heart.’

Arthur sighed internally. ’I really don’t understand dating.’ He thought for a moment. ’Maybe it’s just my face. Am I really that good-looking?’

He already knew the answer as well as anyone.

It might have been a celebration for everyone...

But all eyes, regardless of faction, were locked on him. Girls’ faces turned crimson, and every time he glanced in their direction, they looked away quickly.

Only a few didn’t show signs of being flustered.

One of them was Emily.

’I miss my wives.’ He sipped the wine. ’This is good stuff. Reminds me of when I used to be a quadrillionaire on Earth.’

It had been a year since he last saw his wives, and even during the two years before that, their meetings had been scarce.

And when they did meet, it was usually Nathira bringing him a new training regimen or snacks.

He missed Isabella’s cooking and warm hugs, and Amelia’s shy nature.

And Nathira’s... well, everything.

The hall buzzed with chatter.

A grand ballroom decorated in royal style.

It was a celebration for those who had passed the academy’s entrance exam.

Arthur exhaled deeply.

He set down the cup and left the ballroom.

’I think it’s about time I headed back.’

His wives were definitely waiting for him. As much as he wanted to leave immediately, he still needed to make an appearance.

And since he figured he might run into people from his faction, he chose to linger a bit.

’Where did Eric and Cale even go?’

Arthur stepped outside the building, took a deep breath, and began strolling casually.

Maybe he’d run into them if he wandered around a little.

Besides, he didn’t have to worry about getting lost. He had a clear memory of the academy’s layout, and they’d received a detailed orientation earlier.

At the far end of the street, he spotted Vicky, Eric, and Cale.

He waved, signaling his arrival.

They all flinched, as if they’d been caught hiding something.

Arthur narrowed his eyes. "What’s going on?"

Cale forced a smile. "Should we tell him?"

Eric replied instantly. "Keeping secrets will only make things worse."

Vicky adjusted his glasses. "It seems you’ve got a stalker, Arthur."

Inside the alleyway they were guarding stood a student bound by a basic wind spell.

The girl struggled to speak. Arthur studied her expression, then asked,

"Who are you? From an opposing faction? Or just a fan?"

Vicky scoffed. "You think getting fans is that easy?"

But as soon as Cale lifted the spell, the girl gasped and blurted out, "I’m a fan, okay? So don’t hurt me."

Arthur glanced at Vicky, then back at her. "A fan, huh? Then what’s a senior fan doing here?"

The young woman, with black hair and brown eyes, hesitated for a second.

"Well... you have a stalker."

The group fell silent.

"Explain," Cale said.

"The student council treasurer. I saw her packing combat gear, so I peeked into her room."

No one said a word. They let her continue.

"...She had photos of you plastered everywhere. And she was, uhm... doing unladylike things with your video," she said, face flushing.

’So, a gooneet?’ Arthur nodded to himself.

He had grown up in Korea, so he was familiar with stalkers.

And if there was one thing he was sure of...

It was to never confront a stalker directly.

Arthur turned his head as a strange presence crept into his awareness.

’Shit.’

He straightened his posture. "Hey, Eric, aren’t you tired?"

Eric yawned and nodded. "Yeah. Why?"

Arthur smirked. "Wanna head to the dorms?"

Eric hesitated for a second, then started walking. ’Let’s go.’

He wanted to say the words, but they refused to come out.

Arthur recognized that look.

Because before he restarted Magic Academy’s Genius Scholars just to impress his girlfriend, his character of choice had been—

Eric Daemon, the greatest prodigy and one of the few characters who, no matter what path Arthur chose, always helped him and never sided with Ha-joon.

Arthur matched his pace. Vicky and Cale exchanged a glance, then followed suit.

They made a striking contrast walking together:

Arthur with his blonde hair and golden eyes, Vicky with black hair and crimson eyes, Eric with his long bangs covering his eyes, and Cale with silver hair and blue eyes.

Arthur had every intention of ignoring the stalker. If things got out of hand, he’d just inform Nathira.

And he seriously doubted someone like her, whose full dragon form rivaled a low-level Supreme, would sit back and do nothing.

His real problem now was his wives.

How was he supposed to react?

No, how would they react?

A smile crept onto his lips. ’I miss them.’

It didn’t take long before they arrived at the dorms.

The building was a massive British-style structure with lights flickering from various rooms.

At Central Academy, male and female dorms weren’t separated.

Instead, several dorms were scattered across the campus.

Initially, they were more like hotels—students could sleep in any dorm of their choice.

But after upperclassmen began bullying the first years, the rules had to be changed, or rather, the students enforced their own change.

Eric, Vicky, and Cale entered the building first.

But the moment Arthur stepped over the threshold, he vanished.

Light swirled around him, and in an instant, he was transported into a dimly lit room.
