Infinite Harem System: I Grow Stronger From Every Female Lead -
Chapter 32: Generation... ?
Chapter 32: Generation... ?
"This is getting too much," Eric muttered, yawning as he passed Ha-joon, Agrat, and the disfigured Ellie.
"Such a bother."
Ha-joon stared at him for a moment, then extended his hand. "Did I give you permission to leave?"
Eric gave a lazy wave, leapt, and sprawled atop a tree branch. "Don’t worry, control freak. I’m not going anywhere, alright?"
He shut his eyes, resting his katana on his chest. "This exam is just too much. Why not just duel the weaker guys?"
Ha-joon’s expression twisted. ’Why is everyone just ignoring me?’
He raised his hand and activated telekinesis, attempting to snap the branch.
But nothing happened.
Looking more closely, he noticed it immediately:
Eric Daemon was constantly releasing force every second of the day.
Eric glanced at Agrat with drowsy eyes. "If you dare summon that stick of yours, you’ll die." His words barely sounded like a threat.
Agrat gritted her teeth, but she knew when to back down.
Even though Eric was only an SS-rank compared to Ha-joon’s SSS-rank, he was undeniably a Graduator, on par with the monsters of this generation. f(r)eew(e)bnovel.(c)o(m)
Ha-joon exhaled, a slight smile tugging at his lips.
He turned to Agrat. "Let’s go to the center."
As he was about to step forward, Eric stopped him.
"Where do you think you’re going, oh great one? You think I’d waste my energy moving somewhere that isn’t the center?"
Ha-joon raised a brow. "That means?"
Eric didn’t reply.
’We’re already at the center.’
He wanted to say those words aloud, but even the effort of opening his mouth and closing it again felt unnecessary.
As if responding in Eric’s place, several figures began appearing around the area:
Ayla, Karma, Vicky, Emily and her cohort, Melissa, Ravian, Sophia, Gabriella, Luien, and many more.
In total, they were—
98 candidates.
"Two more to make us a hundred, right?" Karma said excitedly.
Though everyone already knew who one of the two was.
------
Arthur, on the other hand, closed his eyes briefly.
It was time for him to show the world
His growth.
His power.
And the strength of the demonic dragons.
Nari stood behind him.
Arthur channeled color through his body, his eyes glowing gold.
For the spell he was preparing, he needed to increase both casting speed and spell duration.
Everyone in the sealed space felt it instantly.
The crowd in the spectator seats held their breath.
Principal Lysandra’s eyes widened.
It wasn’t as strong as hers, but everything else was nearly identical:
The form, the energy control.
The only difference was the shadows were replaced with yellow light.
She had heard the rumors
That the young prince of the demonic dragons had developed his own energy.
That was exactly why she’d taken an interest in him.
She had assumed it was a lie.
Something fabricated by the Arcains to make their son shine brighter than the Chosen One.
She had initially thought Amelia was foolish for choosing Arthur Arcain over the Chosen One, but this—
He didn’t just create a brand-new original energy, but also had a talent that allowed him to replicate?
...
The area around Arthur shimmered softly.
Then, from the ground, like fabric draping over a chair, a yellow energy formed an orb around Arthur and Nari.
It was exactly like one of Lysandra’s own spells.
『 Tier 4 Spell: Instant Transmission 』
In an instant, literally, Arthur vanished from where he stood.
------
In the center of the forest, the air practically crackled with intensity as all 98 participants locked gazes.
No one moved.
No one spoke.
They were all waiting for one person.
The remaining SSS-rank—Arthur Arcain.
And as if in response to their silent call
The world shifted.
All the candidates subtly changed their stance.
Even Eric’s eyes widened as he gripped his katana, ready to draw.
The space spiraled like a wormhole forming midair.
Then, golden light flared. An orb of yellow energy materialized out of nowhere.
The moment the orb settled into their space, it opened to reveal two figures within:
Arthur Arcain, and the girl who stood behind him.
Ha-joon narrowed his gaze.
The candidates tensed.
Eric broke into a wide grin, while Karma beamed.
No one said a word.
And without warning, the entire assembly of candidates divided into three groups.
Yes, they had been chosen as the leaders of the generation—the SSS-rank geniuses.
And everyone wanted to stand behind one of them.
However, only one would stand at the peak.
And the academy wasn’t just a place of learning, but a place to forge connections.
That meant all hundred of them could now call themselves academy students.
But they weren’t happy. Rather, the tension in the air stripped away any joy.
Once you chose one of the three factions, there was no turning back.
That was the unspoken rule of Generation War.
Most of the demi-humans and non-humans split themselves between Arthur and Ayla,
While the majority of humans aligned themselves with Ha-joon.
Karma, Vicky, and Nari—among others—walked to Arthur’s side.
Eric, who still lay on the tree, pointed toward Arthur.
Even the prince, silent until now, smiled at him, signaling his intent to join.
’Huh?’ Arthur blinked. ’Did I miss the memo?’
He was genuinely confused.
Why the hell did they split up?
This wasn’t part of the original plot.
’Is this a rule I wasn’t told about?’ he thought, keeping his poker face steady.
Except for Cecilia, everyone else seemed to have chosen a side.
"Cecilia, what are you waiting for?" Ha-joon asked, slightly annoyed.
Cecilia lingered for a bit, then answered, "The Holy Empire won’t join this meaningless squabble."
Ha-joon’s jaw clenched so hard that his face twisted. "Cecilia, I’ll ask one more time. What are you waiting for?"
The prince turned to Cecilia. "Saintess, this is an unspoken law of the awakened. Once a particular set is chosen as the anchor of a generation, during the battle royale, the forces of that year split among the most outstanding people."
Cecilia already knew this.
The tests of the entrance exam weren’t exactly what they seemed.
The first test was to single out the exceptional ones.
The second test was to allow the other members of that same generation who weren’t anchors to gauge the strength of their soon-to-be anchors.
And the final test was to form factions.
She paused for a moment, then released her tense fingers.
"Okay," she began. "If that’s how it is, then..."
