Infinite Evolution: My Comprehension Talent is The Strongest Cheat
Chapter 51: Placing First in The Gravity Run

Chapter 51: Placing First in The Gravity Run

"I-I’ve really been born at the same time as an Archmage," a high-ranking Teacher said, his tone complex. "How unpredictable life can be sometimes..."

While smiling brighter than the sun, Dean Lionheart let his vocal cords rumble, his voice thundering out like a drum:

"The time for the Final Trial is up! I will now announce those of you who have passed, and under what prerequisites you have done so!"

As the Dean did just that, while occasionally stealing glances at Jin, an old man and a young, cute girl were also staring at the star of the show.

But contrary to the beaming attitudes of everyone around them, the old man wore a melancholic look on his face. Because of him, the young white-haired girl by his side was also making a forlorn expression.

"Unfortunate. Unfortunate indeed," the old man sighed. "The other kingdoms certainly won’t permit the continual existence of this young hero. By tomorrow, he’ll likely be lying dead in some alleyway, with his status as the Crown Prince hardly mattering."

"Is... is there really nothing we can do to save him, Grandpa...?" The young white-haired girl tugged on his ethereal robes, her large doe eyes practically begging him to help Jin.

Petting her head, the old man said, "I may be almost unrivaled under the Archmage Realm, but I am not the only one like this. And before risking my life against those of the same level, my foremost priority is to protect you, Siya. Your mother entrusted your safety to me before ascending, after all."

"Momma?" Siya, being only ten years old, didn’t remember much of her mother. However, she knew that she was strong—even stronger than her grandfather.

Siya also knew that her mother ascended the Staircase to Heaven nearly half a decade ago. But since taking that final step past the Limit Mage Realm, she had never returned.

"Grandpa..." Siya gave puppy-dog eyes, pleading with her whole being. "Protect him...?"

Silence...

"Haiz... fine," the old man ended up relenting, sighing in exasperation. "But he’ll be your responsibility, understand?"

Siya nodded repeatedly, a dazzling smile forming.

"You really will be the death of me," the old man said while in the process of disappearing. His granddaughter also disappeared with him.

Not long later, after being introduced as the Champion of the Gravity Run as well as the Trial, Jin greeted the Dean and other high-ranking Academy staff. They were practically erupting in excitement while speaking to him, even going so far as to gift him various goodies, which included several Super Element Crystals.

For becoming the Trial Champion, Jin was also gifted ten Super Element Crystals, numerous magical treasures, a 4★ Magic Staff, and a direct promotion to ’S-Class Academy Student.’

Such a promotion was unprecedented for anyone below ten years of age.

Yet, for the incomprehensible genius that was the Crown Prince, not a single person had anything to say about this arrangement. In fact, they felt that the promotion was too lackluster, and that he should become at least an Elder of the Academy.

But on second thought, even if his talent was unbelievably high, he was nonetheless a little kid. It wasn’t very appropriate to make him an Elder.

"Arthyyy, you’re so amazing!!" Merida, void of envy for his talent, smothered him in her bosom. She swung him around, seemingly attempting to scramble his brains in front of millions of people.

"Sister Merida, haven’t I asked you many times now to stop calling me by that nickname?" Jin asked, his lips twitching.

"Whaaa?? But it’s so cute~!" Merida squeezed his cheeks. "Just like you, hihi~"

"Cough! Cough!"

Merida suddenly shot a glare toward the one who coughed.

"Don’t you think it’s somewhat inappropriate for you to be doing something so shameless in public?" The cold-eyed little beauty, Eira, wasn’t willing to back down.

"Hwa?? What’s it to ya!?" Merida, while still holding Jin, walked up to the Ice Queen and bucked up to her. Their breasts immediately started a different kind of face-off as sparks shot off between them.

’Should ladies this young really be so... developed...?’

Being put in the middle of this clash made Jin feel old and out of touch with the times. He ended up slipping away from the calcium cannons that wished to suffocate him. And it wasn’t until he was already halfway outside Academy territory that they finally noticed his departure.

"Little brother!!"

Merida freaked out, clambering to find Jin.

Eira, on the other hand, showed a bit of hesitation mixed with disappointment before coldly harrumphing. She then left the scene, taking away the rewards she got for ranking third in the Trial, which included a direct rank-up to the A-Class.

"The stars this year are certainly eccentric," a high-ranking Teacher commented in a good mood.

"Aren’t they, though?" Dean Lionheart laughed heartily.

"Hm?"

His laughter abruptly stopped.

Turning in a certain direction, his eyes scanned the largely diminished crowd of spectators watching from the higher areas of the Gorge. He seemed to be searching for someone.

Noticing his oddness, a few of the teachers angled their heads in confusion.

"Is something wrong, Dean?"

Hearing this question, Dean Lionheart shook his head. "My imagination really is acting up as of late. There’s no way I felt what I thought I did."

"???" "???"

"Anyway," the Dean said to change the subject, "classes officially begin tomorrow. But will the S-Class actually be sufficient to handle teaching someone of the Crown Prince’s level?"

A high-ranking Teacher wearing glasses stepped forward to answer Lionheart’s concerns. "Mr. Dean, I may not be much, but I’m confident in my ability to teach. Even if the Crown Prince is a top-tier genius, there’s bound to be lots that he doesn’t know."

The Dean mused to himself, and with an impossible-to-understand tone, said, "We’ll just have to wait and see then, won’t we, Hemingway?"

Teacher Hemingway awkwardly smiled.

’How much can a seven-year-old kid actually know about the Mage Path? The Dean is being overly dramatic again.’

Hemingway acknowledged Jin’s prowess and potential, but that didn’t mean he saw him as some sort of god.

No matter the talent, the Crown Prince would always be human.

The only ones worthy of absolute, unequivocal belief and faith were the 42 True Spirit Gods.

Almighty beings that no mortal could ever hope to match up to.
