Infinite Evolution: My Comprehension Talent is The Strongest Cheat -
Chapter 34: Approaching 777 Intents
Chapter 34: Approaching 777 Intents
A week later.
The small mansion at Lotus Lake.
"That makes Intent number 689," Jin declared as he opened his eyes, leaving the Virtual World. "At this rate, it won’t be long before I reach my goal of 777 Intents."
There was no particular reason he wished to reach 777 Intents before attempting a breakthrough to the 2nd Rank. He just felt that it was right.
Theoretically, there were countless millions of different Intents in the Universe, encompassing nearly every basic aspect of life. However, let alone a million Intents, even 100 was overkill.
Additional Intents became less effective the more of them you possessed. Comprehending more would always benefit you one way or another, but seeing as most Intents contained some qualities of other Intents, after a certain point, the benefits of more Intents essentially reached zero.
It would be different if Jin were missing a unique Intent, such as Special Intents, but since he comprehended the most important ones, he didn’t necessarily require any more.
He actually reached this point around the 100 to 200 Intent range, but just for the sake of satisfying his OCD, he aimed to hit that clean 777 milestone.
"Any day now and I’ll achieve my goal, with every single one of them at least at Stage 4."
Although Jin focused on gathering more Intents through battle in the Virtual World, he also put an emphasis on the development of each of the obtained Intents. He brought the majority of his Combat, Auxiliary, and Miscellaneous Intents to Stage 5, the Perfection Stage.
The Special Intents, on the other hand, were far harder to progress in. Only one or two had reached Stage 5, while the rest lingered around Stage 4.
But even with that being the case, Jin’s combat power right now was out of this world.
Although each of the Intents could not be seamlessly and simultaneously used in combat without creating contradictions between the Elements, ordinary Late 2nd Rank Evolvers were not his match.
If he went all out and disregarded the contradiction of Elements, then even Peak 2nd Rank Evolvers would struggle to keep up with him.
However, even if he was reluctant to exhibit combat power greater than the 4th to 6th Levels of the 2nd Rank, he still had quite the reputation inside the Bronze League of Pacific Blue Star’s Virtual World.
His identity as a Peak 1st Rank Evolver who could fend off and even defeat Mid 2nd Rank Evolvers had been doubted many times, but after being officially confirmed by the Goddess, everyone came to accept the truth. This made everyone realize that they were witnessing the rise of a genius on Pacific Blue Star.
Even if he took dozens or even hundreds of years to comprehend so many Intents to the 4th and 5th Stage, that was still the feat of a monstrous genius.
Which average 2nd Rank Evolver wasn’t nearing or even exceeding a century in age? And yet they still struggled to get a single Intent to the 3rd Stage.
Then came Jin, or Azmodeus as he was known, who was speculated to be three hundred years old, possessing 11 Intents, all of which were at Stage 4 and Stage 5.
Just what sort of genius was that??
One must know that to cultivate an Intent from Stage 3 to Stage 4 was no simple feat. It might even be more than 10 times harder to achieve than getting an Intent from Stage 2 to Stage 3.
As for a Stage 5 Intent, while at the 1st Rank, it was virtually unheard of unless you were a recognized genius. The difficulty to achieve this could be said to be dozens of times more difficult than getting an Intent from Stage 1 to Stage 4. No number of centuries were enough for an average Rank 1 Evolver to accomplish this; only geniuses had a chance after spending exorbitant amounts of time.
Even then, most geniuses wouldn’t bother with getting an Intent to Stage 5 while in Rank 1, as even though there were plenty of resources capable of extending a Rank 1’s lifespan past 1,000 years, it would still require centuries to culminate a Stage 5 Intent. And by that point, your typical genius could already be knocking on the door to the 3rd Rank.
Why waste so much time for a moderately stronger foundation when you could instead become dozens and hundreds of times stronger by cultivating normally?
Only the supreme prodigies in the vaster Star System would bother with cultivating Intents to the 5th Stage before breaking through to the 2nd Rank.
For Jin, however, he not only planned to get all of his Intents to Stage 5, he also had aspirations of getting them to the legendary state of Stage 6, Unity!
But even for him, who possessed the unrivaled Against-Heaven’s Understanding, this would still take him quite some time. His estimates were upwards of a decade if he also wished to get his Special Intents to Stage 6, including ones such as Destruction Intent, Annihilation Intent, Lunar Intent, and Eclipse Intent.
Of course, a ’long time’ for him would be seen as ludicrous in the eyes of any number of geniuses in the vast Universe.
A decade to completely master and integrate 700+ Intents, not excluding Special Intents?
What sort of sick joke was that??
No one could possibly be so freakish!
"Bah, still too long," Jin sighed. "I was hoping to officially step into the 2nd Rank before beginning my next world-traversal in 8 months. But at the rate I’m going, that won’t be possible."
Technically, his estimation of a decade to fully integrate all 777 Intents was based solely on private comprehensions. And since comprehension gained from battles involving the relevant Intents naturally provided more insights than private enlightenment, the original 10-year estimation could be tremendously reduced.
However, to gain anything beneficial from fights at his level, he’d at least need to tussle with powerful Rank 2 Evolvers in possession of Stage 5 Intents.
Normally, this wouldn’t be sufficient, but with Against-Heaven’s Understanding, Jin could glean into the 6th Stage of an Intent just from seeing the 5th Stage. Even Special Intents couldn’t escape this shortcut, as other than taking a bit more time, they would ultimately fall under his inhuman comprehensive ability all the same.
"Everything considered, I can probably get to 777 Intents and master them in their entirety within 2 or 3 years," Jin mused, inexplicably dissatisfied.
"Not fast enough..."
He still wasn’t satisfied with that prediction.
While mulling over potential methods he could employ to speed things along, an idea suddenly struck him.
"What if I just... fight multiple opponents at once...?"
Even with the reward money he received from his hundreds of Virtual Arena matches, they were after all just Copper-ranked matches. In layman’s terms, they were newbie matches. Obviously, this meant the wealth one could amass, no matter how many matches, would never amount to much.
For strong Rank 1 and weak Rank 2 Evolvers, cultivation was very expensive. Millions of Cosmic Human Coins weren’t much in their eyes.
And after over 800 matches in the Copper League, including a decline in match revenue due to increased popularity and subsequent decreased betting yields, Jin only acquired a little over... 20 million Cosmic Human Coins.
To mortals and weak Rank 1 Evolvers, that was a fortune. However, to Jin, it wasn’t even enough to purchase an item containing a certain Intent, and that without mentioning that the contained Intent wouldn’t even be of Stage 5.
Low-level League matches really weren’t a good source of income, not unless you spent months and years accumulating match revenue. Moreover, that was assuming you won every match like Jin did; without that prerequisite, you’d likely forever slave away in the Virtual Arena without progressing your cultivation more than an inch.
"But fighting multiple opponents at once to maximize efficiency. That could... definitely work."
Even though it wasn’t possible or logical to propose a challenge to several Evolvers at once, there was a certain part of the Virtual Arena that could serve as an alternative. To most citizens and Evolvers on Pacific Blue Star, it was also the far more entertaining alternative, in turn making it the most popular.
