Splat, a newbie who got caught by the tentacle was out of luck, his head hit the wall squarely and burst open, brain pulp smeared all over, and another wasn’t much better off, with broken bones all over his body, vomiting blood incessantly.

The tentacle monster was relentless, continuing to flail and smash, and in the blink of an eye, both newbies were beaten beyond recognition, as if they had lost all the bones in their bodies, limp and hanging down.

"Stay alert, Qin Yan take the lead, get the newbies out of here." Tang Zheng opened fire, using five Magnetic Storm Balls to blow off those two tentacles, and the corpses of the two newbies plopped into the water.

The Conquerors, rifles in hand, looked around as if ready to confront the threat, but the newbies were too busy fleeing to care, not daring to complain of fatigue under the threat of death.

Seeing Tang Zheng trapped, Lu Fan and others showed anxious expressions, firing at the tentacles, trying to save the two of them.

Li Xinlan was the second to escape the bind; her ability was Ice Age, making her power increase significantly in water-filled places. With the sound of the water’s surface freezing, the tentacle on her ankle immediately turned into ice crystals, which she shattered with a shake.

The mature woman fell into the water then stood on her own created ice block. Zheng Xiaxia and Lin Chen were a step slower, but being Conquerors, they weren’t troubled by this minor obstacle. The six newbies who got entangled had worse luck, banging against the alloy wall with the sound of pummeling a salted fish, with chilling screams ringing out.

Su Ameng opened fire to rescue, but misfired, blowing up a newbie’s left leg. Other Conquerors of the Cup Noodle Squad didn’t want to save anyone, fearing an accidental killing of a newbie would cost them a thousand points, which would frustrate them to no end.

Qin Yan and others didn’t share this sentiment and acted promptly. Unfortunately, there was too little time, and in the end, they could only save two, as three were smashed into meatloaf, and another was dragged straight into the large compartment and gulped into the mouth of the insect monster.

More tentacles shot out, heading straight for the team.

"Xin Lan, Ice Wall!" Tang Zheng shouted, Armed Hellfire flying towards the end of the tentacles; he wanted to see what was at the end of them.

Boom, the water churned, and a stained ice wall rose with frost, blocking the tentacles and even freezing some that extended too quickly within it.

The newbies continued to flee desperately, while the Conquerors remained vigilant, their breathing unavoidably heavy, always a bit worried when facing an unknown monster.

Before Tang Zheng could enter the compartment, the monster had already moved out, appearing before everyone’s eyes—a gigantic spherical monster, three meters in diameter, with nothing but a one-meter-long eye and countless writhing tentacles all over its body.

Tang Zheng fired an Impact Beam, and the Conquerors fired a volley, but a curved Defense Shield suddenly appeared in front of the insect monster, intercepting all the attacks. The eye then widened, and a dark green light beam shot out with a hiss, aiming at the Conquerors.

Due to the sudden impact, the water surface split apart as if cleaved by an ax. The Conquerors dodged while activating their Defense Shields, causing light to scatter in all directions.

This time the newbies were spared from being caught in the crossfire. But the insect monster clearly noted this issue, swiveled its body, pointed its eye at them, and shot out more tentacles.

Tang Zheng’s thrusters went full throttle as he collided with the insect monster, with all weapons firing in an attempted assassination. The defense shield of the insect monster wavered under the heavy assault.
