Chapter 969: Chapter 26 Consecutive Deaths
In the eyes of the other Nepalese, they saw a flying blade slash through, and their second-order Explosive Type comrade was killed in an encounter, a line of blood spurting from the back of his head, slicing open half of his skull and brain pulp, which fell to the ground.
"So strong," the Nepalese team shuddered inwardly, turning their gaze to the three female musketeers who were suppressing the entire group, and to that ancient warrior wielding a warhammer, blocking another second-order comrade. These were clearly the summoned servants of that young man, who could almost be said to have delayed their attack with his strength alone.
The Scarred Captain felt somewhat despondent, he was also third-order, but he couldn’t achieve this extent himself.
"Beautiful!" Xu Biyun’s face was filled with joy. The captain had not only seized the samples but also killed a second-order Conqueror, truly inspiring morale. It was just a pity that the Instant Noodle Team’s priority on survival had prevailed, lacking the boldness to attack while the iron was hot, squandering a great opportunity.
However, Tang Zheng was not so optimistic, because the servants were distracted, and he himself was under intense fire, plus, his Carapace Shield shattered under the overhead light beam.
"Retreat quickly!" Zhou Xiang threw out a mechanical puppet, without cover for himself, he turned and ran. During the pursuit, Tang Zheng badly injured agreed with his intent.
"Weiguo, retreat." Tang Zheng saw through the Instant Noodle Team’s personality at a glance, so he had no intention of annihilating the Nepalese team from the start. With a shout, he activated his thrusters at full power and began to retreat, owning a power armor that indeed provided great support.
Zuo Yi activated his ability, locking onto a Nepalese newbie for sniping, achieving remarkable results—basically a couple of Thunderballs could burst a newbie’s head.
Watching the brain pulp and blood of the Nepalese splatter, coating the metal walls, Zuo Yi felt a slight thrill, silently counting the number of enemies he had killed.
As Tang Zheng rushed past Lin Weiguo, he scooped him up and let the female musketeers and the warrior block behind them, serving as meat shields while sniping the opponents.
There was a Conqueror with Shooting series abilities among their adversaries, a second-order, who saw Zuo Yi blasting their newbies. In a matter of moments, he had slain nine people. Enraged, he raised his Gauss sniper rifle and fired a volley at him.
As he saw the high-explosive incendiary bullets coming, Zuo Yi dodged and prepared for a counterattack, only to catch sight of the bullet about to hit the wall suddenly changing direction by 180 degrees, returning in a straight line, heading for his head.
Zuo Yi was shocked, twisting his waist and turning his head as the incendiary bullet grazed his cheek, taking his entire right ear with it as blood splattered across his face.
"Kill the shooter first," Xu Biyun was initially attacking the Conquerors chasing after Tang Zheng, but upon seeing this, she immediately yelled out, ordering everyone to change their target. Otherwise, once he was free to engage, the newbies would have no chance of escape.
"Motherfucker, taste this bastard’s power." Zuo Yi’s right eye turned red, emitting a light beam that landed on the Conqueror’s forehead, then pulled the trigger, firing bullets that seemed infrared-guided, hitting the target’s forehead without fail.
"Insignificant skills," the Conqueror snorted coldly, initiating his Light Defense Shield and decisively counterattacked. His captain was also yelling, ordering the group members to kill the opposing sniper first.
"Not good, Zuo Yi, run." In such battles, the long-range snipers were always the first targets. Tang Zheng alerted Zuo Yi, instructing the female musketeers to attack the Conqueror, but it was still too late.
Zuo Yi was unfortunate, as various abilities bombarded him. He immediately activated his Light Defense Shield, but it failed to hold. A Nepalese woman’s eyes emitted green light beams that broke through the shield and then another shot pierced the soldier’s shoulder.
Zuo Yi’s entire right arm was blasted to bits, flesh and blood a blur. But the enemy’s attack didn’t stop there, a volley of bullets blasted his body into broken flesh, a section of intestine brushed past Shi Jing’s cheek and flew out, slapping against the wall with a pat.
Shi Jing was stunned, terrified nearly to collapse. Even at this point, she had not adapted to death, especially seeing people from both sides constantly dying, nearly causing her to break down.
"Take the samples and go!" Tang Zheng shouted loudly, deliberately letting the opponents see him stuffing six gene samples into Lin Weiguo’s hands before throwing him towards the exit outside the isolation area. He then suddenly turned around and pounced towards the Conqueror with Shooting abilities.
"Brother Tang!" Xu Biyun panicked, not understanding the captain’s intention.
"You guys go ahead," Tang Zheng had no time to mourn the death of Zuo Yi, knowing that if he didn’t kill the man in front of him, the others would also be shot dead.
The three female musketeers and the ancient warrior immediately gathered together, attacking the second-order unfortunate with all their might.
"Save me," the man cried out for help, the imposing manner of the group surrounding him scared him stiff.
"Stall for time," the Scarred Captain didn’t bother with him, uttering a terse response and lunged toward Lin Weiguo, his plan was to grab the gene samples and flee; avoiding a character like Tang Zheng was the best outcome.
"I predicted this outcome, it must be a swift battle," from the other side’s manner, Tang Zheng guessed that the opponent was naturally cautious and would definitely not clash with him head-on. What he needed to do was to use this, defeating them one by one.
"Third-order against second-order, if I can’t win then I might as well die." In an encounter, Tang Zheng with his firepower fully unleashed, firmly suppressed the Shooting Nepalese man. Once the female musketeers broke through his shield, Tang Zheng reached out his long arms, grabbed the man’s wrist, and violently threw him to the ground, the ancient warrior followed up, hammering his warhammer onto the man’s head.
Shooting types should hide and snipe from behind, facing a close-combat killing machine like Tang Zheng head-on was utterly suicidal.
In less than a minute, the unlucky devil had his neck twisted off by Tang Zheng, who then plucked off his head.
Tang Zheng didn’t bother with the Nepalese newbies opposite him; he turned and flew out, looking at the corpses left behind by his own side. He almost hated Zhou Xiang to death. The enemy didn’t even have a Fourth Order, at most they might have three Third Orders. Why the hell did you run?
Watching those dark-skinned Nepalese with ferocious faces catch up, Shi Jing’s legs went soft. She couldn’t run fast and fell behind. Lin Weiguo, holding onto the gene samples, naturally wanted to protect them. Who had time to take care of a newbie? As for the Instant Noodle Team’s Conquerors, they didn’t even consider it, thus these newbies left behind met a tragic fate.
The Scarred Captain, a Third-order Explosive Type in beastly state, caught up, and as he rushed past Shi Jing, he swung his tail like a poisonous tongue lashing out, the sharp Triangular Tail Spine stabbed into the University girl’s back skull and shot out through her eye socket, killing her.
With a flick of his tail, the Captain threw Shi Jing’s corpse out, tumbling away, and Qian Xue, seeing that he couldn’t escape, suddenly became daring, opening fire on Teng Yuangxiang. If he was going to die, he wanted to take that bitch down with him, but there were a few newbies in front of him, blocking his line of fire.
In the midst of Qian Xue’s sweep of gunfire, several more newbies fell. Lin He, because she had charged too hard earlier, now fell behind as the last of the Conquerors, naturally becoming a prime target.
The Nepalese sprayed bullets wildly, killing all the newbies. Qian Xue, spitting blood, didn’t care about the bullet holes in his chest; instead, he stared deathly at Teng Yuangxiang’s retreating figure, regretting not having abused the woman when he had the chance.
The Scarred Captain hurled a Moon Blade that slashed Lin He’s legs. If she had counterattacked, she could have held on for a few minutes, but only caring about fleeing, she ended up being surrounded. After facing two Third-order Explosive Types, she was instantly suppressed, without even a chance to activate her ability, and was killed.
"Can’t run away anymore. Counterattack together, or we’ll be taken out one by one," Zeng Fanghai, who fell behind, called out urgently to his comrades, but they had no intention to do so.
After hearing Tang Zheng’s words, Teng Yuangxiang was the first to flee. Han Ze, because he was following her, wasn’t left behind. However, his physical stamina meant he couldn’t keep running for long and was bound to fall back, so they were extremely frightened at this moment.
"Lin Weiguo, give me the samples. I’m Third Order; I can protect them," Zhou Xiang, not possessing a strong heart, still thought of fleeing and proposed a seemingly reasonable suggestion.
Lin Weiguo ignored him completely. This trash didn’t even deserve to talk to him. If not for his cowardice, Zuo Yi had a good chance of surviving. He didn’t even care about Lin He’s death, even though she was his admirer.
"Selfish!" Xu Biyun decided, after getting through this, to tell Tang Zheng to kill Zhou Xiang. His behavior was utterly revolting.
The Scarred Captain caught up to Zeng Fanghai, its tail thrusting forward and rifle shooting, forcing him to stop and fight. He wanted to escape to Tang Zheng’s side, but the terrain limited him.
This was a passage sloping downward, three meters wide, and some of the floors were covered with spikes that would occasionally shoot out. Lin Chen carelessly got hit by one.
Tang Zheng caught up to the Nepalese Conqueror in the team. Only First Order, he easily snapped his neck and threw him against the wall.
"Damn it, I’ll slaughter you!" Seeing Shi Jing’s corpse, Tang Zheng wished he could immediately kill Zhou Xiang. This guy was simply too useless.
When the Nepalese woman saw Tang Zheng catching up, she screamed out a warning to the Captain. Now they were down to three people, two Third Orders and one Second Order; they could all potentially die here.
"Save me!" Zeng Fanghai was being besieged, in a precarious situation.
"Zhou Xiang, counterattack. Can’t you read the situation?" Tang Zheng wanted to explode with anger, yelling loudly to remind these wastes,
Lin Chen, having a good relationship with Zeng Fanghai, clenched his teeth and suddenly ran back to help; Lin Weiguo and Xu Biyun exchanged looks and also turned back.
"A bunch of lunatics." Zhou Xiang had no choice but to come back too.
Lin Chen intervened in time to save Zeng Fanghai’s life. But having been beaten to a pulp, he became a burden.
A second later, both sides clashed in the narrow passage.
"Scared of what? Both sides’ highest combat power is two Third Orders." Tang Zheng was fed up. If you think about it, they had two more people on their side, and yet they were still running. Zhou Xiang was more than just a fool.
"You are the fool!" Without an absolute advantage, Zhou Xiang didn’t want to fight at all; he was now forced into it.
"Here goes!" The Scarred Captain roared, unleashing full firepower to attack Lin Weiguo, trying to seize the gene samples.
"Give the samples to Zhou Xiang, let him take them and leave first," Tang Zheng suddenly shouted, causing the Old Soldier to pause. But, as always, he had never questioned the Captain’s decisions, so he complied.
Zhou Xiang caught the test tube holding the blue potion reflexively, bewildered. (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your votes for recommendation and monthly tickets, your support is my greatest motivation.)
