Chapter 968 - 25 Strong Charge

Chapter 968: Chapter 25 Strong Charge

"After being tricked by the Silver Trojan so many times, every Conqueror had realized that if obtaining the gene samples was easy, it would truly be eerie. Therefore, the lobby ahead was bound to be fraught with peril, but they had no choice—they had to charge in wildly and seize the samples as quickly as possible.

There was already conflict between the two squads, and since the cooperation was only temporary, everyone wanted to seize the initiative.

""Idiots!"" Xu Biyun had originally planned to suggest that each side send one person in to get the samples, but Zhou Xiang, confident in his strength, had already charged ahead, completely disregarding everyone else.

""Moronic teammates!"" Tang Zheng cursed, bursting forth with all his might and following close behind Zhou Xiang. If he summoned the Daylily to enhance his agility with a halo, he would have definitely surpassed Zhou Xiang, but he chose not to do that. Instead, he stayed a step behind, ready to strike from the shadows at any moment.

""Hurry up!"" Lin He, seeing the man she admired gaining the upper hand, was flushed with excitement and urged Lin Chen and Zeng Fanghai to speed up and support him.

Although unspoken, the teams began to guard against each other, even slightly increasing the distance between them to avoid surprise attacks.

Zhou Xiang crashed into the entrance and his whole body made a popping sound as if he passed through a tense, sticky membrane. Subsequently, the scene within his field of vision dramatically changed.

The scene previously visible through the entrance was nothing but a deception. What now lay before Zhou Xiang was a room one thousand meters in length and width, like a chessboard, divided into two-meter squares with a one-meter platform at the edges. Then there was a five-meter isolation zone filled with bubbling green mucus that clearly contained toxins. Even with a gas mask, Zhou Xiang could smell a pungent odor.

Zhou Xiang immediately stopped in his tracks and moved to the side. He hadn’t forgotten there was someone behind him; otherwise, he would have undoubtedly bumped them off.

Tang Zheng entered and took in everything at a glance. He spotted Zhou Xiang and intended to stop, but a Nepalese man suddenly charged in from the opposite entrance.

""Stop, watch out for traps."" Tang Zheng instantly changed his plan, roaring a warning to his comrades behind him while he himself stepped on the edge and slammed forcefully against the ground, leaping high into the air.

The Nepalese man reacted quickly, raising his Heavy Gravity Gun while still mid-air and shooting at Zhou Xiang, for he had first noticed this guy. To shift his muzzle and attack Tang Zheng would waste time, and besides, he had more teammates behind him.

""Damn it."" Zhou Xiang was annoyed, dodging and then taking a step forward to leap toward the ground, as he had no option to retreat.

Tang Zheng didn’t use his Gauss sniper rifle to kill the Nepalese man. Aside from the hit rate in such a state, the time taken to switch weapons was also precious and couldn’t be wasted, so he fired continuously with his Heavy Magnetostorm Rifle, suppressing the entrance where the enemy was coming from.

The second person to rush in was a Nepalese woman, her skin very dark. She heard the warning from her comrade, activated a Light Defense Shield, retaliated with a Heavy Gravity Gun, and then released her Seed Ability.

A wisp of black smoke emanated from her back and instantly solidified into a five-meter-long dragon that lunged at Tang Zheng.

The Nepalese woman leaped over the isolation zone, sprinting toward the central isolation band where the gene samples were placed, but after reaching the third floor tile, she was attacked.

A thick red light beam shot straight down from the ceiling, instantly causing her Light Defense Shield to wobble, ready to fall, while another Nepalese man was struck by an electric shock. The intensity and density of the traps here had increased fivefold.

Tang Zheng summoned the Alaska Eagle to collide with the giant dragon. He had just landed when a laser beam shot down, and he dodged to the side, with electricity bursting out again, forcing him to move without a chance to adjust his stance.

Lin He and Lin Weiguo charged in, the former unable to stop her momentum and continuing to sprint past the isolation zone. The old soldier, however, hurried over to support Tang Zheng.

Lin Chen hesitated, standing still, sniping at the entrance for the Nepalese, while Zeng Fanghai was indecisive.

Xu Biyun was much bolder now and wanted to jump over to help Tang Zheng but was stopped.

""Bi Yun, stay at the entrance and provide firepower suppression."" Tang Zheng had to keep a reserve team behind and also needed to watch out for the Instant Noodle Team, but that was assuming they could all survive.

The transparent, mucus-like door muffled all sounds, and the newbies could neither see nor hear the battle raging inside. When they rushed in and saw a dragon and an eagle clashing, with all sorts of bullets whizzing in random flights, they shrank back in fear and ducked to the side.

One newbie, pale with terror, tried to escape but was bumped by a robust young man who barged in. Stumbling a few steps without recovering his balance, he plummeted into the poison liquid pool of the isolation zone.

""Help, help me!"" The newbie bobbed up and down, emitting a dreadful scream. The green fluid touched his skin, causing visible corrosion and suppurating sores. His exposed skin swelled, inflating him like a balloon to twice his normal size.

No one went to pull him out; Xu Biyun and Zuo Yi were too busy to care, and Lin Chen and Zeng Fanghai didn’t even consider it."

Pop, pop, like balloons bursting, the unfortunate newbie’s skin began to rupture as streams of green gas escaped.

The expressions of the new recruits turned pale; they nearly vomited their bile, retching noises filled the air. Such a way to die was truly sickening.

About twenty people from the Nepalese side rushed in, many of them new recruits staying outside the isolation zone, with only five Conquerors continuing the assault. They actually outnumbered Tang Zheng’s side by one.

"Rebuild the defense and push forward!" Zhou Xiang noticed Lin Chen and Zeng Fanghai not coming in, panicked, and immediately shouted to remind Tang Zheng. Seeing there were too many Nepalese, the instinct to protect himself took over.

"No time, fight to the death!" Tang Zheng roared loudly, instantly entering the Third-order State, his body shrouded in dark red mist, his momentum climbing to its peak.

The Nepalese immediately redirected most of their firepower to Zhou Xiang—who had shown signs of fear. Tang Zheng’s display was so strong, it was clear he was a tough nut to crack with formidable equipment. It wasn’t realistic to think they could repel him on the first encounter, so the logical choice was to attack Zhou Xiang and reduce the number of enemies.

"Damn it, is there no way out?" Zhou Xiang was targeted by concentrated fire, his shield shattered instantly, causing all the sweat glands on his body to prickle, and without thinking, he immediately dodged to the side. He chickened out, no longer charging headfirst.

The man with a scar on his face was clearly the group leader of the Nepalese team. He shouted loudly, commanding the battle. In the next instant, a third of their firepower was volleyed at Tang Zheng.

The situation on the battlefield was terrible, with beams of light continuously shooting from the ceiling to administer electric shocks. One small slip could lead to disaster.

"Opportunity." Seeing that the Nepalese, including their leader, hesitated due to the equipment issue, reluctant to charge headlong, Tang Zheng decisively donned the Hellfire, charged wildly forward, and activated his Shield, not even bothering to dodge the light beams and electric shocks. This unyielding momentum immediately intimidated the Nepalese.

Weiguo burst his Seed, releasing the Armored Armor Ability, following behind without retreating, suppressing them with a rifle.

"All of you, come out!" Tang Zheng purposefully bellowed, his aura surging once more.

Three female Musketeers appeared, catching the weapons he tossed to them, aiming to snipe the Nepalese group leader in the front. Slowing him down even slightly or causing a minor injury could throw the enemy’s formation into disarray.

The ancient general dragging a warhammer strode forward like a meteor, then aimed at a woman and hurled the warhammer from his hand, clattering as the iron chain stretched taut instantly.

The woman dodged, her momentum halted.

The group leader is the soul of a team, often representing the combat style of that team. At that moment, Tang Zheng’s summoned legion unhesitatingly aimed straight for the Gene Samples, immediately restoring confidence in his group members.

Lin Chen and Zeng Fanghai exchanged glances, leaped over the isolation band, and joined the fight. As close combatants, only in this way could they exert their full strength.

Xu Biyun executed Tang Zheng’s orders resolutely. However, a Metal Puppet rose from the ground and entered the battlefield.

"Group Leader is amazing!" Watching Tang Zheng turn his thrusters to full blast and lunge for the Gene Samples, Teng Yuanxiang felt a rush of excitement, unable to contain herself, shouting out loud. Such a domineering attitude was truly manly!

"Die!" Tang Zheng shouted loudly, if only to disturb his opponent’s mind so that even a slight advantage was better than none. His hands fired Impact Beams randomly, disorienting his adversaries.

The scar-faced group leader babbled angrily at his companions, a thirty-year-old male Conqueror gritted his teeth and burst into the Second-order State, a blur trailing his body as he pounced on the samples, his speed almost breaking the sound barrier, surpassing even Tang Zheng in the Hellfire.

This unfortunate man had to give it his all; otherwise, on return, he would face the punishment of the brutal group leader. Just as he dodged two Impact Beams and gained the upper hand reaching for the samples, a look of joy crossed his face. Unfortunately, in the next moment, two Moon Blades came soaring at his head and right hand.

He delayed for just a fraction of a second but managed to dodge the attack. The effect of the Sure-Kill was terrifying, shattering the Defense Shield, and despite feeling he almost had the win as his fingertips touched the test tube, a flicker appeared before his eyes as two more Moon Blades came flying at him again.

Sizzling, the man had no time for the test tube, focusing on saving himself. Relying on his speed, he dodged the vital points but still got struck. The effect of the Sure-Kill was incredibly annoying.

"This guy is too treacherous." The male Conqueror, having survived the ordeal, broke out in a cold sweat. The enemy had ample reserve of Moon Blades, and their unforeseeable tactics—if not for his agility—would have been fatal. But the chance to seize the test tubes was now lost.

"Insignificant Skills." The male Conqueror raised his gun, attempting to restrain the attack, only to discover that the enemy’s Rocket shells and Gatling Guns fired from the shoulder were sweeping across, bullets blazing his way. Just as he was about to dodge, he discovered a sharp, white Moon-shaped Flying Blade heading straight for his head.

"Damn it, I still got hit." At this moment, the Nepalese man regretted deeply, knowing that after dodging four Moon Blades, he had grown a little arrogant and failed to notice the enemy’s Barrage purposefully sealing off escape routes and leaving only one path open, then using the Flying Blade as the sure kill.
