Chapter 936: Chapter 1: The Girl with Black Long Straight Hair
After saying goodbye to everyone, Tang Zheng started to teleport, and three seconds later, he appeared on the outskirts of the city. The Blue Trojan, apparently still holding a grudge against the Warhammer team, had dumped them all in a place with inconvenient transportation, creating some minor troubles.
Tang Zheng took out his mobile phone, turned it on, and glanced at the time. Although the new year had just passed and the temperature had not yet warmed up, everything still looked bleak. However, he showed a rare smile.
"Being alive feels great!" he exclaimed casually, then put his hands in his pockets, figured out the direction, and headed home.
The moon was bright, and the stars were sparse, the night wind was dry and cool. Taking a deep breath, he could feel a frosty taste in his lungs. Tang Zheng walked toward the highway not far away, but soon after, he furrowed his brows as faint and trivial noises accompanied the night wind into his ears.
Tang Zheng, who had already taken out his tactical flashlight, stopped the action of turning it on, crouched down, and observed his surroundings, then he spotted the sedan parked sixty meters away.
"Robbery? Murder and abandoning the car?" Tang Zheng frowned. With his vision, he could only see a vague outline. Not wanting to delay, he bent down like a cheetah in the black night, moving swiftly and agilely across the suburban land, quickly approaching the target.
"I hope I’m not too late." At full speed, Tang Zheng’s sprint was very fast, and in an instant, he appeared within ten meters of the cars. Then, a deliberately suppressed female voice drifted out, very faint. The silent car suddenly shook.
Tang Zheng thought it was a hostage struggling under the duress of a criminal, so he burst forth again, leaping forward, and pounced in front of the car door. His fists shot out, and he forcefully slammed them into the glass.
The glass shattered, spraying everywhere, followed by the creaking sound of twisting steel. Then, under Tang Zheng’s explosive brute force, the entire car door was violently torn off, causing the whole body of the car to wobble from the inertia.
As Tang Zheng extended his arm, about to toss aside the car door and grab the criminal, he froze. With the help of the faint moonlight, he saw the scene inside the car.
"What the fuck is this?" Tang Zheng couldn’t help but curse. It turned out to be a couple engaging in a tryst in their car on the outskirts late at night, and what’s more, they were acquaintances—the taxi driver and Black Long Straight he often ran into. The car body suddenly jolted, the glass shattered, the cabbie was startled, and then, a chilling breeze that could make one’s sweat glands stand on end rushed in. As he turned his head to curse, he saw the formidable silhouette standing outside, single-handedly holding the car door, and immediately swallowed his complaints.
"Damn, tough guy; not to mention the car door weighing tens of kilograms, who can rip it off by hand?" The cabbie put on a smile, but inside he was cursing. He feared he might suffer a financial loss tonight, and as for the woman beneath him, whether she would be robbed or not was not his concern at the moment.
"Ah, robbery!" After the initial shock, Xiu Ru finally screamed out, but then she instinctively covered her mouth. Out here in the wild, shouting wouldn’t help, and she had just witnessed Tang Zheng’s violent act of dismantling the car door with his bare hands, which left her shivering.
Thump, Tang Zheng slammed the car door back onto the car and walked away with a gloomy face.
"Ah, my car!" Seeing Tang Zheng leave, the cabbie immediately got up, not even bothering to pull up his pants, to check the extent of the damage to his car—it was his livelihood.
"You don’t even care about your old lady." Xiu Ru was angry, she kicked the cabbie in the stomach, but she still had his welfare at heart, "You coward, go make him pay, just looking won’t fix the car."
"How many lives do I have to spare? If we piss him off and he robs us, then what?" The cabbie stared at Tang Zheng’s receding figure and didn’t dare to follow.
"Alright, you swindler! Didn’t you say you didn’t have any money on you? It turns out you are just too stingy to take your old lady to an inn and instead bring me out here to freeze in the suburbs." Xiu Ru was furious, she lunged at the cabbie and started kicking fiercely, then she was pricked by a stone and fell on her butt to the ground.
"Ouch, that hurts like hell!" Xiu Ru cried out in pain, but the cabbie didn’t attend to her; he was concerned about the damaged car. Then he saw the torn car door and sucked in a breath of cold air. Was this even something a human could do?
A stack of hundred-yuan notes fell near the car, instantly grabbing Xiu Ru’s attention.
"Mine." Xiu Ru dove for them, held them in her embrace, and quickly estimated that there should be around a hundred thousand yuan. That was enough to buy a new car.
"Hey, don’t you think that silhouette looks familiar?" The cabbie gazed at the disappearing figure of Tang Zheng in the dark night, puzzled.
"I have sharper eyes than you; it’s that young man we’ve run into several times." Xiu Ru held the hundred-yuan notes, shoving them into her handbag, "The repair won’t cost that much, the rest is my emotional distress compensation."
"Two hundred yuan won’t fix shit, hurry and pull it out." The pair started arguing again, followed by a few days of silent treatment, only to end up sticking together again.
In a secluded place, Tang Zheng took out a car and drove into the urban area, only to find nowhere to go. Although he had bought a new house, the memory of Chen Hong’s death made it an undesirable place, and as for An Xiuru, he didn’t want to intersect with her again. Pretending to be missing, he figured she would eventually forget after some time.
"Forget it, I’ll just find a motel to crash for the night." Putting his mobile phone into his pocket, after finding a motel, Tang Zheng drove the car into a dark alley, stored it in the Space Wristwatch, and then walked to the motel on foot.
He paid the money, showed his ID, and in five minutes, Tang Zheng had sorted everything out at the front desk. He then followed the waiter and took the elevator to the eighth floor.
