Chapter 765: Chapter 28 - Four Kills

The battle had lasted nearly twenty minutes. Gu Xueqi had roughly estimated the strength and speed of the Shadow Demon Warrior, and glanced at the vulnerable door hinge. She knew it could withstand at most three hits.

"Judging by the footsteps, the demon will take about five seconds to get up here. It’ll take three seconds to break down the door. That short amount of time is maybe enough to escape, but I’d also lose the chance to kill it. Plus, the building is on fire and the cops will be here soon." These thoughts flashed through her mind, but Gu Xueqi had already made her decision. She drew her remaining two samurai swords and smashed the glass in the door.

Being strong from a young age, Gu Xueqi didn’t like to run away. She faced hardship with gritted teeth.

As the shards of glass shimmered, the fiery figure of the Shadow Demon Warrior emerged in the hallway, charging full speed towards the door.

"I have no reason to retreat; I need to return to my mother!" Sweat dripped off her chin and onto the floor, crystal clear. As she yelled out, she held her samurai sword tight and jabbed it towards the Shadow Demon Warrior through the window.

With a boom, the warrior’s robust body slammed into the door. There was a sudden protrusion in the deformation, but at the same time, Gu Xueqi’s samurai sword had stabbed into the warrior’s chest. She stirred it with all her might. Her arms, pushed to the limit, had veins surfacing like earthworms, covering her armature.

The warrior stepped back two steps, then charged again.

To save time, Gu Xueqi decisively let go of the hilt and quickly grabbed the second sword, jabbing once again at the Shadow Demon Warrior from the window.

The warrior, being the only route to the rooftop, had to attack, and Gu Xueqi had nowhere to hide, thus, only a death battle on narrow grounds awaited.

With a bang, the door hinge creaked and couldn’t withstand the warrior’s huge force. It was forced open and hit Gu Xueqi, carrying her as she rolled out. But Xueqi also managed to stab her sword into the warrior’s chest, this time, directly into the heart.

Having tumbled several meters away, Gu Xueqi, fighting the feeling of dizziness, quickly removed the loaded crossbow from her back.

"Stay calm," Gu Xueqi reminded herself again, intending to tussle with the warrior. But the next moment, she saw the Shadow Demon Warrior plunge onto the rooftop and fall motionless to the ground.

Having been persistently attacked by molotovs and crossbow arrows, on top of being up against a newbie, the Shadow Demon Warrior’s combat power was halved, allowing Gu Xueqi to finish it off.

A night breeze drifted by, the Demon shattered into the black mist and dissipated, leaving only a dazzling soul shard behind.

With a sigh, Gu Xueqi took a deep breath and picked up the soul shard. Ignoring the beads of sweat running down her forehead, she started to retreat. As she stepped out of the passage, her legs gave way, and she fell.

"I’ve consumed too much energy, and I’m out of weapons. It seems I can’t continue the hunt and need to retreat temporarily for rest." Gu Xueqi assessed her condition, and despite her reluctance, decided to abandon her next course of action.

The remaining five rock youths convened at dusk, emerging from the houses where they had been hiding, roaming the hunting zone looking for prey. After more than an hour, they finally spotted a suitable target.

A Japanese woman in her twenties was rushing home after work. She kept complaining about her boss in her mind. Despite the ongoing blackout and how dangerous the streets were after dark, he didn’t let her leave early. Fortunately, she hadn’t come across any danger by sticking to the major streets.

"Go, don’t let her get away. Once you grab her, drag her to the nearby park," the long-haired youth instructed his companions. He swallowed hard as he quickened his pace at the sight of the voluptuously dressed Japanese woman.

The acne-faced youth and the one who always grumbled were equally excited. Their eyes were glued on the woman in the OL dress and the black stockings on her legs; they couldn’t wait to have their way with her.

The lip ring girl and the redhead felt unenthusiastic, not wanting to partake in such a crime, but they had no choice but to stick around.

The footstep sounds suddenly picked up pace. The Japanese woman looked up, startled, then instinctually continued walking a few steps further. Noticing something wrong, she immediately turned and ran.

"Damn it! Chase after her! Don’t let her get away," the long-haired youth yelled, breaking into a sprint.

The Japanese woman was wearing high heels, so she was slow. She didn’t get very far before the long-haired youth caught up and shoved her to the ground.

"Help!" The woman’s cry for help was cut short as the long-haired youth covered her mouth, reducing her to a series of whimpers.

"Nice, we’ve got some fun ahead of us." The acne-faced youth, panting from the chase, grabbed the woman’s chest, only to get clawed in the eye by the struggling woman. The pain made him close his eyes. The

"Damn it!" The acne-faced youth cursed and punched the woman in the stomach.

The grumbling youth grabbed the woman’s ankle, the feel of the smooth stockings making him swallow hard. He was unable to resist peeking up her skirt.

"What are you waiting for? Put this on her quickly." The long-haired youth took out a black plastic bag that they had prepared beforehand and threatened the woman, "Stop struggling or I’ll stab you to death."

The Japanese woman had no idea what they were saying in heavily accented Japanese, but she kept struggling regardless.

"Why go through all this trouble? No one’s around anyway. It’s simpler just to do it right here." As the Japanese woman struggled, her clothes were torn off, buttons of her top burst open, driving the acne-faced youth wild with anticipation. He wasn’t able to hold back any longer and quickly jerked off her belt and skirt, exposing her stockings.

The grumbling youth also took off the woman’s high heels, grabbed her foot, and pulled down her stockings while his other hand was rubbing her thigh.

"You two bastards! Can’t you be patient for a little longer?" The long-haired youth was close to losing his cool. He had no doubt that in their state of arousal, they wouldn’t listen to reason.

"Hey, aren’t you guys overdoing it a bit?" The lip ring girl couldn’t stand watching any longer. She had been indifferent during their morning discussion, but the physical act of the crime made her feel sick to her stomach.

The red-haired woman snatched the young woman’s bag, opened it, and rummaged through it.

"Either look and fuck off, or let us sleep with you!" the acne-faced boy cursed. At this point, he was irritable and didn’t care who he upset. Besides, Lip Ring Girl’s boyfriend was already killed by the two-headed monster.

"Get lost, slut. I’m up next. It’s not like I’m even attracted to you." The Complaining Man laughed derisively at Lip Ring Girl. Given the current situation, she had to depend on them to survive.

"Let’s go, Little Jade. Fuck these assholes," Lip Ring Girl snapped, beckoning her friend.

"Little Jade, don’t listen to her." The long-haired youth was Little Jade’s boyfriend and had the right to speak up, "If we get this score, I’ll buy you that LV bag you’ve always wanted."

"Calm down and stay," Little Jade pleaded her friend, who was caught in a tough situation.

"I’m going to find Tang Zheng. You guys are going to get yourselves killed with this shit. I’m out," Lip Ring Girl announced, her face turning livid. She turned around and ran. She loved to live on the edge, but she wasn’t stupid. Seeing the crazed look in the acne-faced boy’s eyes, she knew they were losing their minds. Sticking around any longer, she’d get the short end of the stick.

Watching her friend disappear around the street corner, Little Jade tried to follow, only to be halted by the long-haired youth, "Don’t bother. She’s dead without us."

Little Jade had always depended on the long-haired youth and hence, didn’t have a say in the matter. She was used to his antics, and even helped him out with other women.

"Why is my life such a tragedy?" Clutching the Japanese woman’s handbag, Little Jade felt a surge of sorrow. Suddenly, she heard a rapid beeping sound.

"What’s that?" The three rock music youths stopped their lewd actions upon hearing the beeping, exchanging glances.

"It’s a radar," Little Jade quickly pulled out the device, only to find a red dot flashing near their location.

"Shit, it’s the Shadow Demon. Run!" The long-haired youth immediately left the Japanese woman, getting up and making a run for it, leaving Little Jade behind.

"Wait for me!" A frustrated Little Jade chased after him, followed by the Complaining Man, who also started to run, feeling a pang of regret.

"Just like that, eh?" The acne-faced youth looked at the disarrayed Japanese woman just as he got up and couldn’t help but reach out to cop a feel once more.

Whoosh, a sharpened arrow shot out from the dark and pierced through the acne-faced boy’s left cheek and right through his brain.

The body of the acne-faced boy fell on top of the young woman, scaring her into a scream. He died without his fond desire fulfilled.

Buzz, buzz, the twang of a bowstring echoed again, and two arrows were released, piercing Little Jade’s brain and heart. The red-haired woman had no chance to scream as she collapsed, dead.

The Complaining Man, witnessing his companions’ deaths from ten meters away, was terrified. His legs trembled, almost causing him to fall.

The Shadow Demon Warrior now targeted the long-haired youth. However, the arrow somehow missed and lodged itself in his thigh.

"Help me!" The long-haired youth struggled to get up and started to crawl away, tearfully shouting at Lip Ring Girl, who was a few dozen meters away, "Save me."

The Shadow Demon Warrior swept out his field sword, severing the head of the acne-faced boy, hung it on his belt, and immediately lunged his sword at the Japanese woman.

"Don’t kill... me." The woman was stabbed in the chest. A large amount of blood gushed out, and she died.

The Complaining Man was scared to death, his face turned pale. He attempted to run past the long-haired youth, but was grabbed by the leg.

"Help... me." Before the long-haired youth could finish, he was brutally kicked in the face by the Complaining Man.

"Let me go, let me go!" He shouted, and with just a couple of kicks, the long-haired youth was left with a bleeding nose. The fragile bond of friendship had broken in the face of death.

Buzz, the bowstring vibrated as the Shadow Demon Warrior fired again. An arrow shot through the sky, straight into the Complaining Man’s eye, piercing his brain.

The Complaining Man collapsed, dead, his facial expression frozen.

"I don’t want to die." The long-haired youth, crawling and panicking, glanced back to see Little Jade’s head severed, hanging on the Shadow Demon Warrior’s belt, next to that of the acne-faced boy’s.

The Shadow Demon Warrior came closer, after severing the Complaining Man’s head, he turned to the long-haired youth.

"Don’t kill me, don’t kill me," the long-haired youth broke down, urinating and defecating himself, leaving a filthy trail behind.

The Shadow Demon Warrior was not in the mood for surrender. He grabbed the long-haired youth’s hair, hoisting him up, then brandished his field sword at his throat.

"I..." The long-haired youth’s body started to flail and then went limp. He could speak no more, as the glittering sword pierced his throat severing the life out of him.

In just about thirty hours since entering the game, all of the seven rock music youths were wiped out, except for Lip Ring Girl.
