Chapter 749: Chapter 12: Newbie’s Entrance
"What are you planning to do?" Seeing the black handgun in Mei Jueye’s hand and hearing the metallic sound of ammunition being loaded, Gu Xueqi paled for the first time. Could this madman be planning to kill everyone next door?
"Of course, it’s killing." Mei Jueye’s tone didn’t waver, but he frowned as he stepped out, "Although it’s boring not to do it personally, it would be troublesome to have the police come knocking."
Mei Jueye knocked on the anti-theft door next door once more, and the young man who had just answered the door appeared, brandishing a metal pipe.
"Aren’t you finished yet? Are you looking for trouble?"
The young man saw Mei Jueye’s thin figure and waved his metal pipe arrogantly, making a threatening gesture. He then pressed it against Mei Jueye’s chest, violently pushing it forward.
Mei Jueye didn’t move an inch. A cruel smile crawled onto his lips as he raised his gun-holding right arm, aiming at the young man’s forehead. He had originally planned to use his ability to make them kill each other, but this young man was unnecessarily hostile.
"Hmm, you’re stronger than I thought," the young man laughed. He then eyed the gun in Mei Jueye’s hand with a hint of envy, "Are you trying to scare me with a toy gun? Isn’t it embarrassing? Let me take a look."
As soon as the young man reached out his hand, Mei Jueye pulled the trigger.
With a loud bang, the muzzle flashed, and a bullet spun out, hitting the unlucky young man between the eyes. His skull blew off, and blood and brain matter splattered over half the door.
Thump, the corpse fell to the ground. Mei Jueye unemotionally stepped over it, shut the door behind him. The loud rock music completely drowned out the gunshot.
"Who let you in? Get out." A drunk woman with a lip ring saw Mei Jueye walk in and urged him out disgustedly. She then saw the young man on the ground and her expression turned into shock. She didn’t get a chance to scream before another gunshot rang out.
Bang, the bullet shattered the lip ring woman’s chest and blood immediately seeped out. Her body then softened like dough and collapsed to the floor.
The commotion eventually caught the attention of the others in the room. A young man with dyed red hair barely showed his face before Mei Jueye blew his head off.
At that moment, screams and chaos filled the room. A woman reached into her bag with trembling hands and pulled out her phone to dial the police, only to have Mei Jueye shoot her in the throat. Her body fell onto the sofa, blood spraying everywhere.
Bang, bang, bang, in the rhythm of the gunshots, seven young people were all killed, their bodies sprawled haphazardly in the living room. The smell of blood and alcohol mixed together, assaulting the senses.
Mei Jueye didn’t stop. After emptying the clip into a corpse, he left the room and shut the door behind him.
"Gu Xueqi, it’s your turn to die!" Mei Jueye went to the kitchen to wash his hands. When he came back, he used a tactical straight knife to cut the tape binding Gu Xueqi and then stuck the knife into the table.
Gu Xueqi grabbed the tactical straight knife and without any hesitation stabbed at Mei Jueye. Even if she was going to die, she intended to bring him down with her.
"Do I have to do this myself?" Mei Jueye, being strengthened, held onto Gu Xueqi’s wrist firmly, not allowing her to cause any further harm.
Gu Xueqi’s face turned ashen.
"I indeed forced your hand, but let me send you on your way." Mei Jueye didn’t want to waste time. He activated his ability and took control of Gu Xueqi’s body.
Gu Xueqi watched as her left hand grabbed the sharp knife and drew it across her own throat. Blood spurted out, and her strength drained away all at once.
"This is the perfect ending." Mei Jueye looked at Gu Xueqi writhing on the floor and left the room. He knew he couldn’t hide it for long before the police would knock on the door, so he planned to flee before entering the Trojan Room. But before that, he wanted to go home and take those things filled with childhood memories.
Almost a minute after Mei Jueye left, the corpse of Gu Xueqi slowly disappeared and was teleported into the Trojan Room. The seven youngsters next door also got teleported in, and all the bloodstains were wiped clean as if nothing had happened.
As Mei Jueye opened the door and saw the neat living room, he almost thought he had walked into the wrong house. His deadbeat drunk of a father didn’t look like the type who would clean the room.
"It doesn’t matter, leaving is my priority." Mei Jueye entered his bedroom and saw his neatly arranged bookshelf and bed. He frowned slightly but didn’t dwell on it. He opened his drawer and found his mother’s photograph, stuffing it carefully into his breast pocket.
"Going out late and not coming back, did you go drinking again?" Mei Jueye glanced at the time and realized it was late. He was wondering whether it was safe to buy a train ticket when he walked out of the door and bumped into someone.
Mei Jueye’s father had delivered gas canisters all day and was exhausted. A look of fatigue was etched on his face as he held on to the staircase railing and climbed up. When he saw Mei Jueye, he was taken aback, then his anger surged.
"Where the hell have you been these past few days?" Mei’s father moved towards Mei Jueye and with a swing of his hand, struck him across the face.
Having slapped his son, Mei’s father recalled the words of the old principal when he visited their home. Violence was not a good way to teach children.
"Come back with me." Mei’s father stopped and reached into his pocket, feeling the few tens of dollars he had earned today. He wondered whether he should buy some wine and food and have a heart-to-heart talk with his son.
After hearing what the old principal had said, Mei’s father also felt that he hadn’t been a good father, simply pushing his son to excel in school for his own glory, without paying any attention to his life at school.
Mei Jueye didn’t say anything. He just left the house.
"You insolent boy." Mei’s father was furious. He rushed downstairs, caught hold of him, and dragged him back. "Did you realize how embarrassed I was when your headmaster came to visit our home? Get back to your room now."
"I embarrass you? Don’t you embarrass me? Except for drinking, what else do you know about?" Xiao Mei, who had always refrained from rebelling against his father, finally exploded. His survival in two brutal rounds of the Trojan Horse Game, and the regular occurrence of killings, had filled his heart with resentment, making him increasingly reckless and crazy.
Mei’s father was taken aback. With a hint of shame crossing his face, he was about to respond when Mei Jueye flung his father’s hand away.
"Don’t interfere, I don’t want your care."
After all, he was a man in his forties who had been brought down by heavy drinking. Added to the exhaustion of a day’s work, the shove from his son made him lose his footing on the stairs, and he fell down them.
Mei Jueye was startled and instinctively reached out to pull him back. But he only grazed the edge of his father’s hand. The cold sensation of his father’s hand, covered in stains, sent a sudden convulsion through his heart.
"Dad, dad, I’m sorry..." In the dimly lit stairwell, Mei Jueye’s father struggled to squeeze out his final words from his throat. His right hand tightly clutched his trouser pocket, trying to hand the day’s wages to his son. Even if it were just a small amount, it was his way of showing care.
As Mei Jueye climbed down the stairs, he saw his father’s blood-stained figure lying there. His mouth twitched a few times. For some reason, he was reminded of his father’s long-standing irresponsibility. With a hard heart, he stepped over his father’s body and headed for the train station.
The fifteen-day break was uneventful for Tang Zheng. His relationship with An Xiuru remained the same. During this time, Lu Fan called to say that he had postponed their amusement park outing because he was taking Cheng Cheng on a trip.
The news reported a young man committing suicide in the restroom of a KFC store, the old principal of No. 32 Middle School being stabbed to death while trying to thwart a robbery, and eleven officials being hospitalized after getting food poisoning at the Jinan Hotel.
On the night of the fifteenth day, Tang Zheng bade An Xiuru farewell and drove to a warehouse in the suburbs. Just as he entered and finished preparing his equipment, the teleportation began.
Arriving in the familiar Trojan Room, the din hit him like a wave. Apart from the early arrivals of Lin Weiguo and Dantai, along with Yu Manli, there were no less than twenty people gathered. Seven young men and women were the loudest, crowding around the black cube in the room’s center.
Eleven potbellied officials sat in the corner, their faces grave, maintaining their air of dignity. Unable to tolerate the noisy atmosphere, one of them shouted out.
"Can’t you all just be quiet for a moment?"
"Dumbass." The young man whose brain had been blown up by Mei Jueye raised his middle finger at him, with an air of disdain.
"Do you know who I am?" The middle-aged official was furious and was about to flaunt his status to scare him. "I’m the head of the municipal bureau."
"I don’t care who you are. Keep talking, and I’ll beat you." The young man spat and ignored him, returning to the conversation with his companions. "Didn’t we all die? Why are we here? Are we about to participate in some survival game?"
"Watch your language. How can you talk to a leader like that?" A man, apparently some secretary, stood up and reprimanded the young man.
The middle-aged official adjusted his clothes, remaining poised.
"Damn, he really doesn’t know his place. Beat him up." At the young man’s instigation, his friends all rushed up and began pummeling the secretary and middle-aged official. The other officials stood back, refraining from participating in the fight. One of them looked at Lin Weiguo and Dantai, urging them dissatisfiedly.
"Hey, aren’t you going to stop them? This is disgraceful."
Dantai shrugged his shoulders, ignoring him. The old soldier naturally didn’t want to pay attention to such matters. He walked over to Tang Zheng and began to meditate.
Qin Yan, Bai Guo, and Jing Xiang had been huddled in a corner since their arrival. Seeing Gu Xueqi also wanting to avoid attention, they hesitated before approaching her, asking about the place. If they wanted to survive, they needed to gather as much information as possible.
"She seems rather promising." Watching the school beauty attentively listen to Bai Guo’s introduction to the Trojan Room and interjecting occasionally with questions, Qin Yan praised her.
Just then, a large group of twenty people teleported in. They had all been high school classmates and were having a reunion in the wilderness. However, they had all been killed in a landslide.
"So many people? This is bad, it’s going to be another challenging game." Pang Meiqin walked in, and seeing the crowd, her face fell immediately.
Lu Fan and Cheng Cheng arrived, followed by the survivors Ruan Feifei and Chen Hong. This time, the Trojan transmission happened rapidly and it seemed desperate to start the killing quickly.
