Chapter 746 - 9: Slaughter

Chapter 746: Chapter 9: Slaughter

The falling winter snow gradually grew thicker, and before long, the streets were painted in white, making the chill seem even more intense.

In front of the internet cafe stood at least forty people, who were now eerily silent, their breathes puffing out in white clouds. They watched Tang Zheng quietly, waiting for him to finish his phone call.

The young internet cafe manager who had just called the boss saw that the group fight had paused and rushed out toward the middle-aged boss. In his hurry, he slipped and fell to the ground. However, he quickly got back up, brushed off the snow on him, and bent towards the boss.

"Boss, that sports car they drove... it’s probably worth fifty million." The manager’s face was pale, and he regretted not being clear about the situation earlier. The middle-aged man had some connections, but he was obviously no match for the young man with the baseball bat. Looking at the boss with disgruntlement, he wondered why he had been so impulsive.

As the middle-aged man heard this, his heart skipped a beat. When he saw the Aston Martin ONE-77 parked by the roadside like a lurking beast, his mouth started to twitch.

"Damn, we’ve hit a hard nut." The middle-aged man cursed, smacking the manager’s face with his hand in frustration. Even he didn’t believe they could mess with that kind of man. "What’s going on?"

The manager got smacked but felt relieved when he realized he wasn’t getting fired. He then explained the situation quickly.

"Well, let’s just hope for the best." The boss looked at Dongzi, realizing he got into trouble for no reason. "Huzi, put away the chopper."

The manager’s voice had not been quiet, and on hearing it, Huzi looked a little pale. Relieved and somewhat grateful, he realized that if they had really hurt Tang Zheng, there’s no escaping facing a decade in jail unless they had the courage to pack up and leave.

Without any hesitation, the group tossed all the cleavers and clubs into the minivan.

The middle-aged boss walked up to Tang Zheng with a smile on his face but remained silent, waiting for him to finish his phone call.

"Alright, we’ll talk more later tonight," Tang Zheng said as he put away his mobile phone and glanced at the middle-aged boss. "So, how are you going to resolve this?"

"Misunderstanding. It’s all a big misunderstanding," the middle-aged boss replied, still wearing a forced smile. He was eager to get rid of this problem.

There wasn’t much of a loss except for a power outage and loss of customers in the internet cafe. Ironically, the middle-aged boss still ended up benefiting since students’ unused prepaid fees won’t be refunded. The customers could go suspicious? Let them deal with this man. After all, it’s only a matter of time before the customers flock back to spend money.

"Alright, let’s move on then." Tang Zheng’s tone was indifferent after ensuring the situation was handled. "Dongzi, treat your friends well. Yao Feng, come with me."

A young man ran out and picked up the baseball bat that had nearly overturned the minivan and handed it over to Tang Zheng.

"No need," looking at the deformed alloy bat, Tang Zheng declined and adjusted his clothes to walk towards the sports car. Yao Feng straightened up and followed behind.

As the two got into the car and the Aston Martin ONE-77 roared to life and disappeared around a corner, the group was filled with envy, suddenly feeling motivated to work hard. Since they can’t become billionaires, they decide it’s best to strive to be the father of one—providing the best for their future children.

"I’m not going to your house. Here’s a bag full of money. Settle down and don’t spend it recklessly." Tang Zheng parked the car at the entrance of a flower shop, sniffed the alluring scent coming from the shop amidst the winter snow, planning to buy a bunch of Lilies.

"What? I already told my sister to prepare dinner for you." The high school student looked disappointed. He had planned to introduce Tang Zheng to his family, to prove that his company isn’t entirely made of bad influences.

"I won’t go." While Tang Zheng declined, the female flower shop owner was enthusiastic, introducing the different meanings represented by various flowers. Tang Zheng found himself remembering most messages after listening once. It seemed that the effects of the third-order explosive seed state were starting to manifest on his body.

Disappointed that Tang Zheng couldn’t be invited, Yao Feng felt down. Despite walking with the travel bag filled with two million RMB, he seemed listless. Downstairs, he ran into his sister who just returned from grocery shopping.

Looking at the ordinary-looking woman with a fondness for her younger brother, Tang Zheng let out a sigh and drove away. He didn’t want to involve himself too much with these people.

Yao Feng woke up around noon and left the motel. Seeing the white snow falling, he felt a sense of depression. He tightened his clothes, put his hands in his pockets, and walked onto the main street like a famished jackal searching for food.

Walking on the thick snow emitted a crunching sound. Mei Jueye boredly observed the expressions of passers-by. A woman on an electric bike drove past him. But due to the slippery road, she fell. The little girl, about seven years old, on the back seat was thrown four meters away, bumping her head. Blood immediately flowed out, which shocked the girl, and she started crying.

Mei Jueye stopped in his tracks and watched indifferently, showing no intention of helping. The woman didn’t care about her own pain. She got up to attend to her daughter but fell to the ground after taking two steps. She had twisted her ankle.

A man in his thirties passed by and jumped off his electric bike to help the mother and daughter.

Mei Jueye showed no emotion, lost interest in observing, and continued his journey. He reached the entrance of a KFC. Through the glass door, he caught a glimpse of the staff inside and walked in.

Inside, young men and women were dining and whispering sweet nothings to each other. Despite the cold winter day, the scene had an air of warmth. Mei Jueye, in contrast, felt out of place. But this didn’t bother him as he stood at the back of the queue.

The waiter was very efficient, and it was Mei Jueye’s turn after less than seven minutes. Just when he was getting ready to place his order, a young man came running, squeezing next to Mei Jueye, out of breath, and calling to the girlfriend who had followed him in.

"What do you want to eat?"

"Whatever." his girlfriend was looking around for a seat.

"A family bucket meal, two Orleans grilled chicken leg burgers, sorry I am in a hurry, could you please accommodate this?" The young man told the cashier, then turned to Mei Jueye, "Sorry about this, man."

He said these simple words, without any consideration for whether Mei Jueye would agree, urging the waiter to hurry up.

The waiter, in fact, was quite professional, seeking Mei Jueye’s permission; after all, cutting in line was prohibited.

"It’s fine with me, let him go!" Mei Jueye retorted coldly, added with a flat-top haircut and a dumb look, he totally looked like a student who often gets bullied.

"Have you found a place to sit?" The young man carrying a tray of food hurriedly departed, too lazy to even grace Mei Jueye with a mere courteous exchange, as he called to his girlfriend.

Mei Jueye sat there alone, holding a tray of food in one hand and stuffing fries into his mouth with the other. He munched on them silently, his cold eyes firmly fixed on the backside of the line-cutter. He claimed to be in a hurry, which is clearly an excuse, otherwise, he won’t be sitting there, having meal flirtatiously with his girlfriend.

Mei Jueye casually located a seat, reached into his pocket, clenching the folding knife within, then, surveyed the layout of the KFC outlet, as well as the other customers’ positions, and estimated the most likely times they would head to the restroom.

Ten minutes later, the queue-jumping young man went to the toilet after finishing his cola. Mei Jueye pushed his meal tray away and followed him in.

"Ah! It’s you..." the queue-jumping young man walked up to the urinal, unbuckling his trousers while conversing with Mei Jueye, "It is so cold today, Little brother has shrunk considerably, haha, but there’s no issue when it comes to taming a woman."

"There is no one in the corridor outside; even if a man walks in, it would take at least fifty seconds. That’s more than enough time." Mei Jueye estimated the time while putting on a pair of blue gloves in a composed manner.

"Are you a germaphobe?" Teased the young man. But the next moment, that blue glove reached around from behind, covering his mouth.

Uh, uh, the queue-jumping young man’s face filled with terror as he struggled vigorously, splattering urine everywhere, then feeling his body losing control as his fingers were forced into his mouth, and bitten through.

"There is nothing in this world that I can linger for!"

After making the queue-jumping young man write down this ’suicide note’, Mei Jueye shoved the opened folding knife into his hand.

The queue-jumping young man was terrified, his face twisted, he tried to scream, but could not produce any sound. He could only watch helplessly as the knife slit open his neck.

The frigid sharpness of the blade, followed by a surge of warm blood spurted out from his windpipe, splattering against the white wall opposite, the crimson stain stark and shocking.

The queue-jumping young man’s legs flailed wildly. Still, with the loss of blood, his strength waned significantly, and then he convulsed occasionally like a dying fish.

With a thud, Mei Jueye let go, and the queue-jumping young man fell headfirst into the urinal, his face pressed against the yellowed urine, the pungent liquid pouring into his mouth. But he had no strength to rise, with a gaping hole in his neck splashing blood.

Mei Jueye’s gaze was indifferent, he glanced at the knife without reclaiming it, then he took off the blue gloves while exiting the restroom.

"Only took thirty seconds, not bad." Mei Jueye contemplated the use of his abilities during his exit to create a distraction by controlling another man to wander around the entrance of the restroom. But considering the consequences, he gave up on the idea.

"What’s the point if it is not a killing done by my own hands?" Mei Jueye stood in the winter snow, he did not feel any thrill from the murder or any fear or panic, only a sense of boredom. "Think of it as killing time!"

After throwing the gloves into the dustbin, Mei Jueye put his hands into his pockets and continued wandering aimlessly like a zombie, without the desire to return to that home filled with icy memories.

"Let’s go and check out the school beauty at No.32 Middle School." In order to survive, Mei Jueye had exchanged quite a few survival and combat skills with the Silver Trojan. But now was not a time for training. Watching the students leaving school for lunch, he suddenly remembered the school beauty he once had a crush on.

For good measure, Mei Jueye glanced at his wristwatch ’crime record,’ but there was no increase in the Sin Value, which was rather disappointing. It seems killing a person in reality wouldn’t work. But then, a crazy idea suddenly came to him.

"If I were to bomb a mall, which one would cause the greatest commotion?" Mei Jueye pondered over plunging the entire city into chaos. "But would that attract Tang Zheng?"

Whenever he thought of Tang Zheng, Mei Jueye’s mood soured. He began running towards No.32 Middle School. Prior to kidnapping the school beauty, he needed a safe hideout to confine her.
