Just over two minutes had passed and Tang Zheng had annihilated more than three hundred mechanical police, leaving a scattered debris of broken copper and iron across the courtyard. The faint, pungent smell of burnt engine oil wafted through the air, assaulting the senses and causing a slight feeling of nausea.

Apparently taking note of Tang Zheng’s strong firepower, the reinforcing mechanical soldiers stopped 500 meters away, rather than advancing hastily.

Tang Zheng was very calm, he flew into the building. He’s not worried about the well-being of Qin Yan and the others. Though the mechanical police were numerous, their threat was inferior to two teams of high school girls in sailor suits. Tang Zheng turned around and raised his right hand, preparing to release the Impact Beam at any time. But after turning off the infrared seeker, two human figures, a large and a small one that seemed to be residents of the building who had fled here, were displayed on the screen.

The newcomers also jumped in surprise, but relaxed after seeing it was a mother and child.

The ’motherly young woman’ didn’t care about her ’son’, letting him tumble away. She herself lunged at Tang Zheng, her body also splitting open instantaneously. Ten mechanical tentacles burst forth, thrusting at Tang Zheng.

Ratatatat, a gun barrel spat out strong electromagnetic bullets from the ’mother’’s mouth. Due to the close proximity, all of them hit Tang Zheng’s body. The tips of two tentacles spouted red laser cutting beams that moved in a circular pattern. Anything that was grazed by these beams got cast aside like tofu that had been sliced by a sharp blade, leaving behind neat and straight fracture lines.

The female office workers screamed in fear, their faces paling instantly. The ’mother’ had entirely lost her human appearance, transforming into a mechanical squid the size of an off-road vehicle. Her body was bristling with weapons, making her appear like a weapon of war, designed for slaughter.

Two light beams cut across Tang Zheng’s body, almost making him break out in a cold sweat. It wasn’t until he didn’t hear the damage alarm that he heaved a sigh of relief. However, right after that, the tentacles on her armature, acting like spears, repeatedly pierced his head.

"Die!" Tang Zheng’s energy beam cannon charged and immediately blasted out from his chest.

The mechanical squid was sent flying instantly, crashing into a wall. Half its body got destroyed, but three more tentacles were still struggling. They started expanding, with all the suckers on them opening up, each firing a small missile at Tang Zheng.

Tang Zheng’s thrusters switched onto full power and he retreated at high speed. But the missiles had tracking systems, so they persistently pursued him, leaving trails of white smoke behind.

"This is troublesome!" Gatling guns on Tang Zheng’s shoulder makes a thunderous roar as they fire off bullets, destroying the barrage of incoming missiles. He grumbled about his bad luck, only wanting to save a native child, but falling into a trap as a result. If it wasn’t for his keen observational skills which helped him notice the lack of blood when the boy’s head was hit, he would have undoubtedly been caught off guard.

"Let’s move, let’s move, I am not responsible if you get left behind!" Lu Fan pulled the woman’s daughter onto the spider mount. He then kneeled on it, pulled out his Thunderstorm rifle, and kept a vigilant watch in all directions.

The little boy completely transformed into his mechanical squid form and attacked with thrashed tentacles, all weapons firing simultaneously.

If Tang Zheng wasn’t equipped with the Hellfire armor, even everything that had transpired so far wouldn’t have killed him, but he would have definitely ended up in a sorry state. Now, after six shots of the impact beam, both the mechanical squids were destroyed.

"The queen is cunning!" Tang Zheng didn’t dare to underestimate the central computer any longer. His original plan of bursting through the walls of the building to distract the enemy was immediately changed. He followed after Lu Fan. With the enemy having the ability to disguise as a mother and daughter duo and lure in survivors, the pressure soared - he dared not leave on his own.

Before those missiles even hit the target and exploded, they were engulfed and trapped by the ice wall, solidifying like insects preserved in amber. The alarm system of the mechanical squid beeped incessantly, warning them to dodge, but it was too late. In the blink of an eye, the ice wall reached them and encased them in ice.

That’s cool!" Feeling the chill of the giant block of ice and watching the frozen missiles and mechanical squids inside, Lu Fan cheered, whistling with admiration. Xin Lan’s ability was indeed powerful and well-rounded in both offense and defense.

Li Xinlan let out a breath, calming the rush of her short breaths. After all, she had just resurrected and didn’t yet have much physical enhancement. The consumption of life energy at this scale still tired her to some extent.
