Chapter 601: Chapter 6: The Yellow Sparrow Behind

"Okay, that’ll do." The woman invited Tang Zheng into the greenhouse. The heating was turned on so it wasn’t freezing, but the woman still shivered slightly.

"He might be spying from somewhere, waiting for me to let my guard down?" Tang Zheng furrowed his brows. This lady was only a decoy, and he had no intention of messing around with her.

As the attacker had yet to make a move, Tang Zheng felt slightly put out.

A sudden ringtone echoed through the quiet greenhouse, startling the woman. However, Tang Zheng saw this as a stroke of good luck.

"Uncle, have you caught the attacker yet?" Lu Fan, clad in cartoon pyjamas, volunteered, "Shall I help?"

"From now on, just be quiet." Tang Zheng held his phone, speaking in hushed tones. After about a minute, his face showed displeasure and his voice gradually gained volume.

"What’s it to you where I am?" The girls’ expression changed at hearing Tang Zheng’s reprimand over the phone. Subconsciously, she asked, "Is that your girlfriend?"

"Shut up." Tang Zheng snarled, landing a smack on her body, "Just stay put."

The girl pouted in displeasure. She wanted to lash out but was wise enough to remain quiet when she heard the growing intensity in Tang Zheng’s voice. She then proceeded to dress up.

"What is Uncle having a fit about? Is he trying to draw out the attacker with a performance?" Lu Fan lifted the phone from his ear, took out a voice recorder and started recording, all the while yearning to witness his uncle slaying the enemy firsthand.

A Vietnamese man hidden in the dark had waited for a full five minutes while watching Tang Zheng yell down his phone. His patience had worn thin and he had become restless. He had initially planned to seize the moment of Tang Zheng letting his guard down, but that seemed unlikely now.

"It should be alright now." The Vietnamese man watched his target’s furious expressions and guessed that he must be arguing with his girlfriend. Why else would he ignore the woman there?

"Don’t worry. Once I’ve killed him, I’ll take my turn with you," the narcissistic Vietnamese man licked his lips while looking at the Chinese girl, already dressed and playing with her phone. The jealousy in his heart boiled over. This caliber of a woman could fetch millions of Vietnamese Dong in Hanoi, yet they might not even entertain you.

The Vietnamese man set up his sniper rifle with the crosshair pointed at his target. However, something felt off. The man, who kept pacing around several large potted plants, was becoming a hindrance to his line of sight.

"Have I been detected?" The Vietnamese man became a bit worried, however, his narcissism took over, "I am a proven survivor after all. Killing him will not just bring me spoils of war, but also the admiration of that busty girl."

Tang Zheng paced around unpredictably, not just to dodge potential sniping but to make subtle observations of locations where a person could hide. Since he didn’t fear close combat, all he needed to do was ward off long-range sniping.

"Okay, I’ll give you a chance." Tang Zheng didn’t want to continue his act. He flung his phone on the ground in a fit of rage, yelled at the girl, and stormed out of the room.

Seeing this as his last chance, the Vietnamese man didn’t hesitate. He moved his crosshair along with his moving target and the precise moment he reappeared from behind a large pot, he pulled the trigger.

The instant the gun fired, Tang Zheng, who had been on guard, quickly ducked and then bolted towards the direction where the gunshot came from.

"Finally, I was almost getting dehydrated from all the anticipation." Tang Zheng looked excited. The enemy had fallen into his pace, and that one uncalculated shot had increased his confidence. He was indeed a rookie, else he wouldn’t have acted so hastily.

Bang. The bullet hit the wall leaving a dent behind. The girl was taken aback and failed to understand what just happened. She only screamed and hid behind a large pot when she heard another gunshot.

Bang. With the second shot missing, the Vietnamese man started getting anxious. Instead of choosing the cautious approach and moving out of sight, he reloaded his gun, intending to kill Tang Zheng promptly.

"Idiot." Seeing that the bullets were ordinary, Tang Zheng didn’t even bother dodging. He pulled out his Thunderstorm rifle and started returning fire in the direction of the shooter.

Fist-size lightning balls were shot and landed after they were released, causing nearly a dozen potted plants to explode, sending the soil and leaves airborne.

The short Vietnamese man quickly emerged from his hiding spot, throwing a hand grenade to slow Tang Zheng down, and then started retreating. The fierce momentum of his opponent was overwhelming him.

"He’s a tough nut to crack." Even though the Vietnamese man had anticipated a difficult target, he hadn’t imagined it being this bad and started regretting his hasty moves.

"Trying to escape? Too late!" Spotting the Vietnamese man trying to run down the corridor where he had earlier attached the bomb, Tang Zheng pressed the detonator. A loud boom followed as a ball of fire engulfed the man, the force of the explosion tossing him out from his location.

The Vietnamese man reacted quickly, activating a flash card instantaneously, reappearing fifty meters away. His protective clothing saved him from injuries, but his face had severe burns, and his hairs were crackling from the fire, making it an eye-catching sight under the moonlight.

Tang Zheng’s Thunderstorm rifle swept towards his legs. After a dozen shots, the Vietnamese man’s protective clothing was finally blasted apart, his right leg was shattered to pieces.

He screamed in pain, fell forward, and stayed motionless.

"Playing dead?" If Tang Zheng wasn’t trying to capture a live one, he would have blown the man’s head off. He cautiously moved over and sure enough, the Vietnamese man suddenly turned around and sprayed bullets with his rifle.

"Idiot, didn’t you do any intel before you came?" Tang Zheng blew off both of his arms, unmoved by the man’s screams of pain.

The Vietnamese man spat out blood. His hate-filled eyes stared at Tang Zheng like a wolf.

"Not talking? Let me guess then, you’re Southeast Asian, right? Then the only person who escaped me was a certain Vietnamese big-breasted sister, hmm, you’re together?" With his Thunderstorm rifle pointed at the captive’s head, Tang Zheng started to speak in Vietnamese to extract information.

Tch, the captive spat a mouthful of bloody foam onto Tang Zheng’s leg and turned his head without replying.

"You’re a tough man." Tang Zheng paid him a compliment, maybe to provoke him, "Did you come to kill me just to impress the Vietnamese girl? That can’t be that shallow, right? By the way, her skills in bed were terrible. And while we’re at it, what kind of skills can a virgin have?"

Hearing Tang Zheng’s words, the captive became enraged, wishing he could bite him.

"So you’re the remnants of the Vietnamese team." Tang Zheng’s eyes hardened, he slammed his foot into the captive’s chest, breaking half of his ribs, "Why don’t you use your abilities?"

"You beast, our three Vietnamese teams will not let you go." The captive spat out a threat and gave in. His only regret was that he didn’t get to enjoy himself before dying.

"Hold on, if you’re on the same team as big-breasted sister, why didn’t you share our intel and send yourself to die?" Tang Zheng frowned. Could this guy have been a pawn who got cheated?

"Could it be that some people are watching me and are waiting to catch the mantis while the cicada is not attentive?" Tang Zheng was startled, his instinct was to act as if he didn’t care, to lure the enemy into a trap. But looking at this guy who dared to assassinate him even before his abilities had been activated, he instinctively stepped back. What if the other party had a bomb for self-destruction?

"Damn it, that will alert them." Right after taking a step back, Tang Zheng knew he was in trouble. He immediately started to retreat at full speed. Since the other party could set this kind of trap, their IQ must not be a problem. This step might not show that he had noticed something, but any cautious person would immediately take measures.

Tang Zheng had retreated just three meters when the astounded Vietnamese man was forcefully made to auto-destruct, instantly exploding into a huge ball of flame. Chunks of burnt flesh splashed everywhere, evaporating in the heat.

Tang Zheng activated the Blink Card, disappearing just as the ground beneath him collapsed, stones splintered and a pit of a meter’s diameter appeared.

"Damn it, that was an untraceable Gravity Gun." Tang Zheng didn’t dare to stay, he sprinted towards a shelter, meanwhile summoning two female musketeers to help him locate the enemy.

As Tang Zheng sprinted, the enemy’s Gravity Gun fired continuously. The ground behind him collapsed, as if bitten off by Tian Gou, missing a piece in an instant, and various fragmented rocks fell onto the road surface, causing a series of dense noises.

Bang, bang, the female musketeers opened fire. They had sharp senses and upon spotting the enemy, they instantly pursued him to kill him.

"Sophie, catch the gun." Tang Zheng threw the Gauss Sniper Rifle like a javelin, muttering his luck. If it wasn’t for the two agile servants who could act as scouts, he would definitely have been in a passive state today.

Zing, a blue cannon beam cut through the moonlight, hitting a Mulan garden sixty meters away. A shadow flashed and was exposed in the field of view.

Tang Zheng opened fire at full throttle, taking out the Thunderstorm rifle and aiming covering fire at the enemy. Incredibly, Sophie maintained extremely high accuracy while running at high speed, with blue beams closely following the enemy, pressing on him terribly.

"Alizeh’s firearms are really weak." Seeing the five-second bullet-loading interval, Tang Zheng had a headache. He had to ask the two female musketeers to switch equipment. If they had a sniper rifle and a machine gun, they would have killed the enemy by now.

Dressed in Baroque-style clothes, the musketeer moved like a phantom in the night, darting through the Mulan garden. A few jumps and she was on the enemy’s tail, using the rifle to steer him towards a predetermined route.

Tang Zheng had already sprinted diagonally out to interpose the enemy. Twenty seconds later, they were five meters apart, and under the pale moonlight, their faces were clearly visible.

"Die." Acting on the principle of striking first, Tang Zheng immediately released the Moon Blade, a red crescent-shaped blade shot out from his hand.

However, the opponent wasn’t bad either, shooting out a Moon Blade of his own!
