Chapter 1584: Chapter 46: One-on-One Duel
Tang Zheng’s feigned weakness plan failed. When the group leaders learned from the Germans that two thirds of the natives belonged to him, they immediately changed their attitude and saw him in a new light.
"This guy is a tough opponent, and he’ll also make a good human shield!" The Russians and the Swedes decided to approach Tang Zheng for an alliance to jointly confront the French.
In the end, the British chose to ally with the French, who have the strongest power. The Germans, uncertain what benefits were promised to them, also started to show enmity towards Tang Zheng.
"These Asians are the weakest in strength but have the most indigenous slaves. Why not eliminate them first?" The French group leader approached the Russians and Swedes, persuading them, "How about we divide them evenly? I’ve decided not to demand more natives just because I’m stronger."
The two group leaders didn’t answer.
"You’re probably worried that after I take them out, I’ll turn the spearhead against you, right? Rest assured, we are all Europeans and belong under the command of Blue Trojan; we should not fight amongst ourselves," the French group leader said persuasively, "Besides, by acquiring these natives, we might reach a certain number and be able to return ahead of time."
"Don’t worry. During this period, we’ll surely encounter other teams. If you don’t trust us then, you can find new teams to form alliances with, how does that sound?" Another deputy group leader, also an orator, knew how to get their agreement.
In just one day, Tang Zheng found the situation had drastically changed. The way these people looked at him, as if he was a lamb waiting for slaughter, it seemed like each had a chopper hidden behind, ready to pounce and commence a massacre at any moment.
"Group Leader Tang, your clever move has backfired; they are all Europeans and will certainly gang up on us first," Agate Man had abandoned the idea of taking pleasure in Tang Zheng’s misfortunes and now only thought about working together to survive.
"Leader, you have too many natives; it would be surprising if they didn’t make a move," the burly man tried to get closer, his tone inevitably tinged with sycophancy.
A team of native scouts on wild horses caught up. To demonstrate his dominance and intimidate the weak in order to achieve the goal of attacking Tang Zheng, the French leader took the initiative to strike. It turned out one of the groups was led by an English group leader, resulting in the death of one English Second and several blown hybrids were also killed.
"Even when a lion fights a rabbit, it uses all its strength." Of course, Tang Zheng was not going to remind the French; he took pleasure in watching their loss, and so did the other group leaders.
"FU~CK, I’m going to wipe you all out, dry you into human jerky!" The group leader’s face was iron blue as he raged inwardly, but soon he calmed down, aware that he had focused too much on the team battle and overlooked the natives.
"This alliance isn’t bad. We must work together to survive, especially now that the strength of the natives is growing," Tang Zheng said casually over dinner, with a plate in hand, sitting among a group of group leaders, seemingly unintentionally warning them, "If you push me into a corner, I’ll kill all the natives and not leave a single bone for you."
The group leaders exchanged glances quietly, having to abandon their plans for a night raid. They still hadn’t figured out Tang Zheng’s abilities. If he really had a mentality of perishing together, he wouldn’t be easy to deal with, especially since the natives weren’t very strong in defense.
"How come I never thought of this threatening tactic?" Several weaker group leaders suddenly felt Tang Zheng was very treacherous, but of course, group leaders with group attack abilities felt relieved, as Tang Zheng’s method was indeed useful.
"We must test it." The French group leader didn’t want to be in a deadlock and prepared to have his subordinates create conflict. The next day, the opportunity arrived.
"There are several Trojan Squads ahead in a standoff?" Upon hearing this, the group leader felt it was a gift from heaven and hastened the group to speed up. His strength naturally earned him the right to lead the group.
In the wilderness, the two sides faced each other with hostility.
"Leader, let’s do it, wipe them out," the African licked his tongue’s tip, eyeing the Asians with a gaze as venomous as a snake.
"If you lay a hand on them, I’ll kill all the natives," Dantai’s icy gaze held no emotion, as if he were gazing upon a group of dead men.
"Dantai, don’t provoke them, or it won’t end well," the red-lipped woman who had met Tang Zheng at Bluebird KTV, stood beside Dantai, covertly tugging his sleeve. Following the deaths of their leaders, they had no choice but to stick with him.
The proud woman was there too, her face pale from blood loss, clearly not lightly injured.
"Idiots, haven’t you seen the situation clearly?" Mu Nianqi cursed. This kind of weak attitude would only make the Africans more arrogant.
The group of black men consisted of five Trojan Squads, nearly thirty in number, each looking ferocious, their dark skin making their white teeth and eyes seem even more fierce.
They had drawn totems on their faces with fresh blood and oil paint, resembling blood-thirsty ferocious beasts.
Unlike the in-fighting of other squads, these Africans from tribes valued strength above all and naturally followed the powerful group leader, which also gave them a significant advantage.
The African savanna was similar to this Stone Age wasteland. As the spoils of war grew for the blacks well-suited to this environment, so did their confidence inflate blindly.
"Leave the natives behind, and you may go," the black group leader, wielding a locust-leg-shaped chopper, his voice hoarse, issued the final ultimatum to Dantai. The green blade was obviously smeared with lethal poison.
"Do you think I’m stupid?" Dantai sneered, knowing that once he left the natives, losing the final threat, the Africans would surely pursue them to the death.
"I’ll say it one more time, leave, or die here," the group leader waved his weapon, shouting at the natives, "Follow me, eat meat; follow them, die."
The natives restless but not daring to move because Dantai had already taught them unconditional obedience with bloody methods before.
Rather than Tang Zheng’s carrot-and-stick benevolence, Dantai, who came from a Special Agent background, knew better how to make these humans submit obediently.
"Without the Natives, we can always rob again, but killing you lot, now that’s the spoils of war." The Group Leader stared at Dantai and the others’ wristwatches, not wanting to let even one go.
"You fucking black, staring at me like that, I’ll crush your eyeballs." Pang Meiqin saw a black man’s greedy gaze cruising on her thigh, disgustingly vile.
"Looking for death!" The black men were furious, cursing in unison, but none of them acted rashly. The corpses of their companions on the ground made them somewhat wary; their opponents were not mere small fry or else they would have torn them to shreds already.
The French Group Leader led a few teams, driving the Hummer and kicking up the rolling yellow sand, appearing on the edge of the battlefield.
"Pfft, a bunch of blacks." The Group Leader was obviously a racist; if it wasn’t for the distance, he would have spat on the black men’s faces.
Actually, the Group Leader didn’t want to step in, preferring to wait for both sides to fight to the death before he came in to clean up the mess. However, several weaker teams didn’t think the same, they all hoped to encounter teams from their own country to strengthen their power.
"It’s Dantai." Xu Biyun became happy, raising her hand to greet them; half of the Warhammer team was present.
"Tsk tsk, you’re in bad luck, our Group Leader has arrived." Dantai shrugged his shoulders. "If you don’t run fast, I guarantee, not even your bones will be left."
Also, with Dantai were two teams that had been badly beaten, and they all actively greeted Tang Zheng.
Several Group Leaders and Africans all looked towards Tang Zheng, for they keenly noticed that ever since he appeared, the previously disadvantaged Warhammer team suddenly surged with fighting spirit, exuding an indescribable confidence.
"This guy’s prestige is really high; we should have acted sooner." The Group Leaders regretted. Such an enemy must be eliminated as soon as possible.
The Hummer charged straight ahead and then, with a flick of its tail, stopped between the two confronting sides.
"No one dead yet?" Tang Zheng jumped down and scanned the Group Members.
"Not at the moment." Dantai’s reply allowed Tang Zheng to heave a sigh of relief.
"I want a one-on-one duel with you." A black Group Leader stood out, challenging Tang Zheng. As long as he defeated him, the morale of these guys would naturally wane; a team battle now would be disadvantageous for them.
"Don’t be impulsive, this guy uses poison, very treacherous." The lady with red lips stepped out, leaning against Tang Zheng, appearing intimate but actually whispering a reminder.
The Group Leaders were all fearless. How could they not hear such murmuring?
"If you’re afraid to fight, then fuck off." The black man wasn’t stupid, prepared to distract Tang Zheng and kill them in batches.
"Europeans, this has nothing to do with you, please leave." The African Group Leader scolded the Europeans; he wasn’t foolish enough to challenge everyone.
"You black, don’t talk to me with that tone." The French Group Leader couldn’t help it and his words almost led to a fight.
"Group Leader, stay calm, let’s withdraw first." The deputy advised the Group Leader and instructed the members to leave, under no circumstances could they get involved.
The other squads showed no integrity, and with the exception of Agate Man and his group, they all left.
"Wait, aren’t you staying to watch the fight? Otherwise, killing people feels meaningless to me." Tang Zheng’s words made the Europeans retreat even faster; they thought this kid was playing tricks, after all, with their own side here, the Africans would hesitate to initiate a fight.
"With the nuisances gone, can we fight now?" The black Group Leader continued his taunts, seemingly unperturbed by the possibility of others benefiting from their conflict.
"No stakes, how boring would that be? How about this, if you die, give me a thousand slaves." Tang Zheng extended his index finger, waving it.
"I will not die." The black drew a spear, pointing it at Tang Zheng, "You are the one who will die."
"Then if I die, I’ll give you a thousand slaves." Tang Zheng’s expression suddenly darkened, he roared, "If you’re afraid of dying, fuck off, don’t waste my fucking time."
The Group Leader agreed; the Africans wanted to gauge Tang Zheng’s strength. From their perspective, even if they couldn’t win, they wouldn’t die; after all, their own side could rescue them anytime. It was a surefire deal.
"Be careful; this guy uses poison," Dantai reminded Tang Zheng, thinking rapidly, trying to come up with a strategy while there was still time.
"Hmm!" Tang Zheng was cautious, though he really didn’t need to be. After being enhanced by the mutant virus, ordinary toxins were essentially non-lethal to him.
The black was cunning, inhaling sharply then spraying a breath, and a green smoke burst from his nostrils, spreading and enveloping him.
"You’re cheating; we didn’t say start yet." Bai Guo pointed at the Africans, her face turning red with anger.
"For us, it has already begun," the blacks were conceited, "If you don’t want to die, concede quickly." (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your recommendation and monthly votes, your support is my greatest motivation.)
