Chapter 1576: Chapter 38: Killing Move
Arthur didn’t care that Tang Zheng was secretly learning because he didn’t believe it was possible for him to succeed at all. To master this ultimate move, he even went so far as to spend points to acquire a vast knowledge of physics mechanics. This was the foundation of his pride. However, his expression changed after a few minutes.
Tiny specks of black starlight began to form in the air, growing to the size of sesame seeds. These were the preludes to a black hole forming.
"Practice on your own; I’m leaving," Arthur decided he didn’t want to stay any longer. He realized that the young man had a natural talent for combat, with his simulated Gravity Devour becoming increasingly lifelike.
His two subordinates had already sensed the danger and were preparing to make a run for it.
"Why the rush? Don’t you want to see the results of my experiment?" Tang Zheng chuckled as he snapped his fingers.
A black hole the size of a peanut suddenly appeared in front of Arthur, devouring everything around it, forcing him to change direction.
"How can this be?" Arthur’s face turned dramatically pale.
"Well, I happen to be a science student, and unfortunately for you, physics just happens to be my best subject," Tang Zheng smiled like a wild cat that had successfully stolen cream. "I’ll let you in on a little secret, I often score full marks in physics, and I came in second place in an Olympic Physics Competition."
"Fuck, I’ve been careless," Arthur’s face turned iron blue with regret -- but it was too late. "What do you want?"
"Not much, just tell me all about how you use your abilities," Tang Zheng’s demand was excessive, and he didn’t believe the other would comply.
"Kid, don’t push your luck. We both practice Gravity Techniques; none can best the other. But I still have two subordinates, and they are the tipping scales." Arthur ultimately didn’t dare to attack, otherwise, he would’ve signaled his subordinates to open fire by now.
The two Conquerors indeed wanted to puff out their chests and support their Group Leader, to magnify their presence, but seeing Tang Zheng, who was sitting idly on his War Horse, they just did not have the guts.
Without warning, one of the Conquerors suddenly swelled up, as if bloated with countless tumors, disgustingly so.
"Group Leader, save me!" Right after the Conqueror finished speaking, he exploded with a pop, splattering his companion’s face with bits of flesh.
"Kill him!" Arthur knew there was no turning back now, but he only took two steps before stopping again, because the remaining subordinate was also attacked by the Gravity reversal, turning into a pulp of flesh.
In the face of Third-order, First-order truly didn’t stand a chance.
"Tsk tsk, now your two scales have also shattered," Tang Zheng taunted Arthur, trying to infuriate him. Once emotions become unstable and calm is lost, mistakes become easy in combat. Stance-based abilities were indeed useful, especially for catching someone off guard.
Arthur’s facial expression fluctuated, having suffered such humiliation. Anyone with a bit of spirit would have lunged at Tang Zheng in a fight to the death by that point. His hesitation, on the contrary, made Tang Zheng lower his guard and decide to kill him.
"It’s a pity. If Sha Ou had not died, Telekinesis would undoubtedly be a powerful skill," sighed Tang Zheng. "As a return gesture, have a taste of my White Dwarf Star!"
A black sphere emerged above Tang Zheng’s head, radiating the Radiation Gravity Abyss towards Arthur, and with a wave of his hand, invisible Gravity Arrow bolts shot out.
"Insignificant Skills; Gravity Abyss!" Arthur felt as if his heart and blood were being grasped by an invisible hand, almost being pulled toward the earth’s core, and his skin cried out as if tearing until his field was activated, which gave him some relief.
Arthur also released Gravity Arrow bolts with a flick of his wrist. Such basic usage, he was capable of as well. As for full-scale Gravity Suppression, he was too lazy to use it, thinking it a waste of Life Energy.
Invisible force fields collided fiercely, constantly sparking and distorting the air, causing ever-appearing cracks and collapses on the ground. Mosquitoes that couldn’t flee in time were directly ground into dust.
"Gravity reversal!" Recognizing there was no escape, Arthur knew he had to give it his all against such a high-level opponent or risk certain death.
Tang Zheng deliberately reduced his defenses to experience Arthur’s attack effect, which indeed inverted his body orientation. A sudden head-downward posture would have surely caused anyone else to lose their sense of direction—a flaw that would be fatal. Luckily, he was prepared, and the maximum output of the White Dwarf Star slowed down Arthur preventing him from attacking in time.
Arthur took out a 3S-level Flame Impact Rifle, shooting red light beams. Although all were deflected by the force field, he didn’t care.
"Let’s see how long you can hold on." Arthur didn’t expect such attacks to be effective; their purpose was to deplete Tang Zheng’s Life Energy.
A fist-sized black hole suddenly appeared behind Tang Zheng, starting to devour. Tang Zheng’s arm, just grazed, caused his Protective Clothing to break, and along with it, a chunk of flesh.
Tang Zheng dodged, creating black holes near Arthur too, but this guy was experienced and easily dodged them.
The clash of Gravity fields completely disrupted the surrounding environment, even the air was disappearing. Fortunately, both men were fearless; even without breathing for ten minutes, they wouldn’t be affected. However, a prolonged battle would certainly be to Arthur’s disadvantage.
"I refuse to believe I can’t outlast you." Arthur gulped down an energy drink, a rare prop he had acquired from a theme world, and it was the basis of his confidence in battle.
In an attempt to increase lethality, after creating black holes capable of gravity devourment, neither of them cancelled it nor had the time to control its cancellation. Consequently, within a mere three minutes, more than a dozen black holes appeared over an area the size of half a soccer field.
The ground collapsed like cake gnawed by wild dogs, and surrounding space fell in, creating patches of mottled darkness due to the moonlight being absorbed, as if smeared with thick ink.
"Competing with me in consumption, you’re asking for death!" Arthur gritted his teeth while dodging and continued to increase the number of black holes; the two of them didn’t need to fight hand to hand since the power of punches and kicks was obviously not as great as their abilities.
"You’ll be the one dying. That Zero Gravity Explosion and Gravity Distortion move was not bad, let’s do it one more time!" Tang Zheng roared back in counterattack, holding the Queen Mother’s sword, and he realized that his opponent’s skills began to repeat, evidently running out of tricks.
"Don’t be smug, kid." Arthur was almost fuming with anger, verbally not admitting defeat, but deep down his confidence was gradually sinking. The strengths of the two were comparable, and such attacks could only be fatal if the opponent’s force field was shattered. Yet, his opponent always seemed to handle it with ease, causing his confidence to sink deeper.
"Since you’re out of moves, I’m going full firepower." Tang Zheng looked at the moonlight, but the gravity had already distorted the light, what he saw was just a reflection from the ground, "Killing you, and then I can quickly go back to sleep."
"How arrogant!" Arthur had just spoken when he almost bit his tongue in shock because that kid across from him suddenly drew out the Undamaged Lake Light, and instantly, the life energy in his body surged rapidly.
"Damn it, I forgot about this." Arthur panicked and turned to run.
"Thinking of running? It’s too late, Gravity Reversal!" Tang Zheng went violent and directly activated Magic Sword Release, erupting with full power.
The force field’s strength exponentially increased, directly squeezing and eroding Arthur’s Gravity Abyss, causing the gravity around him to change, making him feel unsteady on his feet, wanting to flee, but was relentlessly suppressed by the radiation from the white dwarf star’s Gravity Abyss.
Gravity reversal also came into play, and immediately Arthur felt discomfort in his body, with some blood vessels and muscle tissues collapsing, yet he couldn’t even spit out a drop of blood.
Arthur still harbored a sliver of hope, but then he saw twenty black holes appear around him, blocking all his escape routes, and felt despair.
"Even if I die, I won’t let you go!" Knowing that there was no hope for escape and all his group members had perished without any chance of resurrection, Arthur prepared to perish together with Tang Zheng.
"Self-destruction? I’m not afraid of that!" As soon as Tang Zheng finished speaking, Arthur exploded, a hot blaze rose into the sky, irregularly distorted by being squeezed by the force field, but it was instantly compressed and sucked into the black hole.
"This is bad." Tang Zheng, after all, had only recently learnt to control gravity devourment, and his control was still lacking. Having conjured too many, he lost control over them.
As these black holes collapsed, the sudden release of energy was comparable to the explosion of a dozen small hydrogen bombs. Tang Zheng teleported and quickly armed the Hellfire, barely escaping the explosion radius.
"It would be embarrassing if I killed myself." Tang Zheng wiped off his cold sweat, looking at the mushroom cloud shooting into the sky, thinking that he couldn’t do this again next time. Just as he was about to leave, four men and three women surrounded him, looking at Tang Zheng with sorrow and anger.
"Chinese?" Tang Zheng was on guard, judging from their appearance, they should be fellow Chinese without a doubt.
"You bastard, do you know your explosion just now killed six of our teammates?" A woman screamed hoarsely, the nuclear explosion had come so suddenly that only those with plenty of experience like them could react, while the six people below third-order were vaporized without a trace left.
"Heh, it’s your own fault for sneaking around in the shadows, you deserved to die." Since the other party was aggressive, Tang Zheng saw no need to be polite, and he didn’t have to guess to know the origins of these people.
They were clearly the culprits responsible for crippling Arthur, originally planning to kill him, but seeing Tang Zheng enter the fray, they hoped to sit back and reap the benefits. However, they didn’t expect to suffer this unwarranted disaster in the end.
"What did you say?" A man became angry, stepping forward as if to start a fight, but was restrained by the more sensible ones.
"Tang Zheng, it’s been a few days, and your strength has increased again." The man with the agate ring, who had met Tang Zheng once at Bluebird KTV, looked at Tang Zheng with a feigned smile, as if to say hello.
The man was also subtly reminding his companions that the young man before them was very strong.
"What’s there to fear, let’s take him on together!" The furious man spoke, but the others didn’t respond. Even with the group leader, they could kill Tang Zheng, but they would lose half of their own people as well, and that’s a conservative estimate.
"You, are very strong!" The short group leader was somewhat stammering, so his speech was very brief.
"If you have no other demands, I’m leaving." Tang Zheng gave these people a glance, gestured a fist salute, and without waiting for their approval, summoned the Hell Motorcycle and rode away.
"Group leader, this guy is too arrogant, we need to teach him a lesson," the furious man mumbled dissatisfiedly, watching Tang Zheng’s defiant departure.
"Are you coveting his unique prop and want to snatch it?" The agate man snorted, "Overestimating oneself." (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets; your support is my greatest motivation.)
