Chapter 1577: Chapter 39 Acquaintance
"What did you say?" The furious man was enraged, rolling up his sleeves ready to start a fight.
"Stop arguing, let’s go, complete the mission and get home ASAP." The Group Leader turned and left; he would have definitely fought for it if he didn’t possess a unique Prop, but after weighing the pros and cons, he decided to give it up.
The others had been lying in ambush watching the whole confrontation between Tang Zheng and Arthur, having fought Arthur before, they knew how tough he was, yet facing Tang Zheng, it only took less than five minutes to force him into self-destruction, even the Group Leader wasn’t confident of victory.
The arrogance on display a moment ago was mostly an act; otherwise, the other party might have made excessive demands.
"Damn it, this is so infuriating." With people dead and no place to vent, the Group Members felt incredibly frustrated.
"Be content, that guy is the so-called Good Guy Tang Zheng, with more than twenty subordinates. If they were all here, we probably wouldn’t have escaped." Agate Man touched his ring and consoled everyone to relax.
"Is he the Good Guy Tang? The one who worked with Vasily and Bingxu, the China Region Group Leader whose team ranking shot up?" The woman was astonished, "No wonder he’s got fighting talent, Arthur’s death isn’t unjust, hehe, I can imagine the other Regions’ Trojan Squads are in for a bad time."
"However strong he is, he’s no match for a single finger of the Asia Region Boss." Some were unimpressed, "We’ll see at the Holy Land, the bigger the reputation, the bigger the target, and the quicker to die, acting quietly and amassing wealth is the real deal."
"I’ll tell you, apart from gravity, this guy actually has other Abilities, if he’d used them, Arthur would have died even quicker." Agate Man’s words made everyone feel somewhat relieved; it was good they weren’t enemies, otherwise, who would be the prey, that’s hard to say.
Tang Zheng couldn’t hear these comments, already wearing his Hellfire, flying through the Night Sky, patrolling the surroundings.
The Campfire burning on the ground was undoubtedly the most conspicuous signpost.
The skinny and dark man was lurking in the shadow of a large rock, cursing at the three Swedes, judging from their complete lack of camping experience, it was obvious they were mere Newbies.
"The figure of Western women is really something." Eyeing the voluptuous woman, the skinny and dark man swallowed his saliva, and after triple checking, he slithered over like a venomous Snake.
The three Swedes had completely despaired, exhausted and hungry, unable to catch any prey, they could only wait for death. One man eyed the woman and then suddenly pounced towards her, wanting one last frenzy.
The woman’s clothes were torn.
"What are you doing?" Another man picked up a Rifle, his face full of shock as he pointed at his companion.
"We’re going to die anyway, what’s wrong with enjoying ourselves one last time? Come on, I’ll let you go first!" Rrrrip, the man tore off the woman’s Silk stockings and reached under her skirt.
The companion hesitated.
"What’s there to fear? It’s not like any policeman will come after you." The man laughed loudly, kneading the woman vigorously, in this wild place with no moral or legal constraints, all kinds of desires were magnified!
The companion threw aside the Rifle and charged over, the woman felt another pair of hands on her body, and she despaired, her shriek almost tearing her vocal cords.
She hadn’t expected that her teammates, who were kind just days ago, would turn into this once the Group Leader died.
Two screams suddenly pierced the air; blood splattered on the woman, the wetness was uncomfortable. She lifted her head and saw two headless Corpses lying to the side, a skinny East Asian man standing nearby, cleaning the blood off his knife blade.
"Thank you!" The woman just finished speaking when she saw the man press down on her, his foul-smelling mouth nuzzling at her chest.
Tang Zheng landed, the Thruster’s blast whirled away the sand and gravel on the ground.
The skinny and dark man leaped back abruptly, fully alert, staring at the sudden appearance of the Power Armor.
"Sorry to interrupt your pleasure, I really didn’t mean to, where’s Latif? I’d like to invite him to enjoy the moon!" Tang Zheng crossed his arms, leaning against a large rock, taunting the skinny and dark man.
"Is it you?" The skinny and dark man’s pupils shrank instantly as if stepping on a cat’s tail; thinking of Tang Zheng’s terrifying battle record, he hesitated not one bit and, turning on his Armed Hellfire, planned to flee.
"Stay!" Tang Zheng clenched his left fist and hammered downwards; the skinny and dark man was smashed by gravity, firmly pressed to the ground.
Impact Beam roared out in vain, failing to get close to Tang Zheng, twisted and deflected. The Light beam, being a particle, could also be diverted by gravity, and as for those Missiles, they couldn’t touch him at all; the explosion’s blast was instead returned to the skinny and dark man.
The skinny and dark man set Thrusters at full power, but it was like being in a swamp, as if actions were slowed.
Tang Zheng snapped his fingers; Gravity reversal acted upon the skinny man, and both of his Thighs were blasted apart.
Listening to the shrill screams, the woman got up, buried her head and ran madly, her voluptuous backside tracing an exaggerated curve.
"I don’t like noise, if you keep running, I will explode your head!" Tang Zheng didn’t even turn his head, launching Gravity Bomb, crashing the woman down, "Where’s Latif? Don’t make me ask a third time!"
"Dead, killed by the German." The slim black man knew his end was near, and with nothing to lose, he burst out in defiance, roaring at Tang Zheng, "You won’t be arrogant for long, once you get to the Holy Land, you’re all gonna die."
"The wails of the weak. Tell me, any last wishes before you die?" Tang Zheng taunted, looking at the doomed cur that refused to repent.
"Let me sleep with that woman!" The slim black man was unabashed, and he even tried a sneak attack, which was unfortunately futile against the Gravity barrier, like throwing mud into the ocean.
"Tsk tsk, had you asked me to send a message or some money to your family, I would have obliged. But you really are beyond redemption!" Tang Zheng lost interest, launched the Gravity reversal, and burst the slim black man’s heart. With that, both the Vietnam and Indonesia teams were wiped out.
Tang Zheng used the Dragon Grabbing Hand to pick up the Power Armor and store it in his Wristwatch, then turned his gaze to the young widow.
"Please don’t kill me, I beg you." The young widow knelt on the ground, sobbing and begging with tears streaming down her face, "I’ll do anything you want, please!"
Shaking his head, Tang Zheng took to the sky, flying towards the camping ground, unconcerned with killing a female Newbie.
The Group Leaders were strong, almost all equipped with Power Armor. By now, they had mostly lifted the restrictions on their equipment and abilities, hence those brimming with confidence boldly set out alone, hunting their targets.
Radar warning went off, and within five seconds, Tang Zheng had spotted the blue Hellfire. Air-to-air Missiles were simultaneously breaking through the air towards him.
Tang Zheng changed course, but his pursuer was relentless, firing beams continuously. Like meteors, they flashed across the night sky.
The two armors chased each other like fighter aircraft in the sky, and due to their rapid movements, they missed their skill shots, so they refrained from using them.
"Which Squad do you belong to? Identify yourself!" Seeing that she couldn’t get the better of Tang Zheng, the other party took the initiative to negotiate.
"Heh, it’s actually you!" Tang Zheng recognized the woman’s voice; it was Yu Qingqiu, the mature woman he’d had a close encounter with on a flight to America.
"Tang Zheng, you’re not dead yet?" Yu Qingqiu scoffed, hovering in mid-air.
"Everyone else is dead, but not me." Tang Zheng was unsparing with his words. "They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned; it’s true indeed. You kept silent just now because you wanted to kill me and take a suit of Power Armor for free."
"So what if I did?" Yu Qingqiu didn’t deny it. If her opponent was weak, she wouldn’t hesitate to strike, even if it was a compatriot. The Trojan World is indeed a place where only the strong survive.
"Dominating as ever. How’s your Team holding up?" Tang Zheng spotted Yu Qingqiu moving closer and quickly signaled for her to stop. "Hold it right there. You’re a Psychic type, and I’d rather not be attacked."
"Scared as a mouse." Yu Qingqiu did consider a sneak attack. She had gathered information on this young man, coveting the unique Prop he possessed.
"Let’s talk Serious Business. Don’t you find this mission a bit strange? I think there’s something wrong with the Silver Trojan!" Always better safe than sorry, Tang Zheng wasn’t foolish enough to let someone suited for Team Battles get close.
"Regardless of any issues, we’re about to complete the mission and leave. But here’s another piece of news for you: the Conquerors have stirred up the Natives’ tribes on the mainland into uproar. The Great Chief is furious and calling all the chiefs to crusade against the Conquerors," Yu Qingqiu boasted with a smirk. "His strength is comparable to a Rank Five of England. As far as I know, he has already wiped out six Trojan Squads. You better start gathering Natives quickly and make your escape."
"Rank Five are but trash!" Tang Zheng scoffed, but deep down, for a moment, he entertained the idea of killing Yu Qingqiu and taking command of her Natives. He was mindful of his subordinates—Rank Five, after all, represented an almost godlike force. "Interested in grabbing a midnight snack together?"
"Stop, don’t come closer. I’m detecting hostility from your psychic waves." Yu Qingqiu backed away, keeping her distance from Tang Zheng. "I’m familiar with your combat record. I don’t want to cross swords with you, and you’d best not provoke me."
"That sounds somewhat blustering yet cowardly." Before Tang Zheng could finish, Yu Qingqiu suddenly sped up and disappeared into the skyline. "Watch out for attacks on your camp, better head back quickly."
Although he knew this was likely a ploy to stop him from pursuing, Tang Zheng couldn’t help worrying and hurried back to the camping ground, only to find everything safe and sound.
"Group Leader, you’re back?" Sun Guofeng was on night watch and ran over as soon as he spotted Tang Zheng at the camping ground.
"What is it?" Tang Zheng walked straight to the Stone House, with Sun Guofeng following closely behind.
"Could I have a Seed?" Sun Guofeng knew staying awake during the night watch was to show his dedication to Tang Zheng, especially after learning about Shen Jiashu and the other two’s slumber, he felt restless.
"Reason!" Most of the Newbies hadn’t perished in their sleep. Hearing the commotion, they all emerged, hopeful looks directed at Tang Zheng.
"I think I’m not bad. With Superpowers, I could contribute more to the Team." Sun Guofeng clenched his teeth, feeling anxious at his destiny being in someone else’s hands.
"I can do that too." Bai Xia and the others spoke up as well. After all, no one wanted to die, and given the chance, they were ready to take a gamble.
"If you’re still alive by tomorrow night, I’ll give the Seeds to the five most outstanding among you!" Tang Zheng didn’t refuse, but rather played a round of Tai Chi push hands.
"Why not now? The sooner superpowers are activated, the sooner we gain more strength." Bai Xia hesitated for a moment before speaking up. As a girl accustomed to being pampered, she was still adjusting to the cruel rules of this world. (To be continued.
