Chapter 1527: Chapter 115: Tactics Chase
The Conquerors around fell silent; indeed, the harassment from the other side had been incessant, evidently aiming to tire them out before launching a major attack after they were sufficiently worn down.
"High casualties are a matter of tactics and mindset. Upon seeing the difficult mission, you lacked the courage to burn the boats; instead, you prayed for a turn around or a way out." Dantai didn’t need to see the fight to guess their intentions, evident from the fact that even Silver Hair could be a leader, showing they couldn’t have achieved much in war results.
"You haven’t seen it; how can you be so sure?" someone retorted, clearly lacking confidence.
"Put away your hopes. We are the last batch of volunteers and have lost over three-quarters of the Conquerors in previous battles. We’re left with only three paths: die in battle, fail the mission and get erased, or complete the Theme World!" Dantai’s icy gaze swept over the people, "A disorganized group will be easily defeated."
The Conquerors understood Dantai’s point but without a strong team leader to suppress them, true cooperation was unthinkable.
"I have a Team mission exemption card here; if you don’t believe it, try it!" Tang Zheng took out the card and tossed it to the man in the front.
Abruptly excited by this premium Prop he’d never seen before, the man activated it immediately, only to find unfortunately there were restrictions on its use.
"You’ve mentioned attacking; so what exactly should we do? We can’t just swarm over, can we?" Silver Hair, with arms crossed, sized up Dantai, the challenge clear in his demeanor.
"Report your Abilities and strengths, and I will assign missions based on the intelligence." Dantai’s words stirred up the Conquerors, as this involved revealing their trump cards.
"Fools, once you enter combat, will you still have the energy to pretend? Sooner or later, your comrades will see it, and assigning missions according to your respective strengths ensures that you can perform at your best without dying easily." Emily stepped forward, unwilling to let Dantai continue overshadowing the Warhammer team.
The Conquerors were actually convinced, especially those who were about to become Cannon Fodder, all were more than willing; however, lacking a leader, they maintained their silence.
"My ability is Furious Queen, Summoning System, specialized in long-range combat!" Tang Zheng led the reveal, obviously not foolish enough to disclose all his abilities.
"Seems very convincing, you’re definitely an S-grade rare Ability!" a twin-tailed girl from the Night Saints sneered at Tang Zheng, thinking him too dramatic. After all, he had repelled a Third-order on his own.
"My ability is Psychic type." Dantai followed up quickly, with other members of the Warhammer team reporting their abilities too.
With role models set, even the Cannon Fodder followed suit. Dantai took command unchallenged, his authority crucial, directly determining the team’s Status.
Several capable team leaders exchanged glances and compromised. Further dispute would only lead to mutual destruction; this method was relatively fair and maximized Combat power.
The Conquerors all listened intently, especially to those team leaders, among whom many were S-graded—considerably Strong.
"Counting it up, Warhammer team has balanced offensive and defensive capability; magma, sand dust, ice and snow, thunder—these natural type Abilities are great for clearing arenas."
"Those few women shouldn’t be underestimated; Time-type with Black Long Straight, Spatial-type with Office Lady, of course, the most mysterious is that young girl with a queen’s aura, I sense great oppressive power from her."
The Psychic type who spoke was very sensitive.
"That big-breasted girl is really something; makes you want to touch, but although these people are good, their levels are too Low, they are only a threat when they grow."
In their hearts, the Conquerors all recognized the Warhammer team as a major rival, but soon shifted their focus as Bingxu and Vasily’s team began reporting their Abilities.
Without any intention to hide, as strong figures, they possessed an imposing presence; minimum were all S-level Abilities, which caused the Conquerors to gasp.
Those quick thinkers had no doubts; the rankings of these two powerful teams meant their weaker members were already eliminated, even outstanding ones who were unlucky didn’t survive.
The Smiling Witch and the Goddess of Death too prominent, Dantai wisely gave up the command, but because Bingxu and Vasily had a soft spot for Tang Zheng, and also since he was quite capable, the female deputy leaders also gave extra care to the Warhammer team.
The combined team of over a thousand split into five groups, advancing in a tetrahedral formation, maintaining distances that supported mutual reinforcements.
Under Natasha’s command, the team moved like precise machinery, increasing cooperation as time went on.
"Electronic System, Summoning System, divided into two echelons, alternate scanning the 180 degrees area spread over 500 meters ahead," Natasha commanded, receiving feedback in less than a minute.
Natasha chose a path relatively easier to attack but hard to defend and unlikely to have many ambushes.
Turning a street corner, over three thousand Mutated Creatures congested the street, swarming towards the Conquerors in dense hordes, disgusting like locusts.
"Defense Type, hold position; Long-range Faction, bombard! Be mindful of where you hit; avoid wasting firepower!" Natasha activated her ability, her gaze merely sweeping the positions of the Mutated Creatures and she analyzed the best deployment scenario, infusing the orders directly into the minds of the Long-range Faction with her psychic power.
The team leaders were about to inquire, but as the attack coordinates directly appeared in their minds, they were struck by the performance. Indeed, the team known as the best at Team Battles, even this deputy leader’s performance was enough to impress.
The Long-range Faction deployed various abilities, and before the mutated creatures even approached, they were annihilated, leaving the street littered with severed limbs and soaked in blood.
"You, go out." Natasha singled someone out, pointing at a blonde-haired individual to go to the front of the team.
"Why?" With hundreds of eyes staring at him, the blonde’s demeanor weakened, but he still argued.
"Charge: not fighting with full effort, preserving strength!" Natasha couldn’t be bothered with more words, "Zhu Kefu, revolver, throw him out."
The others fell silent, and during the next wave of attack, their firepower visibly strengthened.
"Good tactic." Dantai praised, and indeed, in the recent combat, there had been many shirkers; Natasha merely picked the weakest to serve as a warning, but the effect was remarkably significant.
"Defense Type, shields!"
The combat continued, and at Natasha’s command, a chaotic array of shields sprung up at the front of the team, blocking the mutated creatures’ offensive.
Boom, boom, a dozen large mutated beasts appeared, charging towards the team.
"Long-range Faction, disrupt them, special attack team, kill the mutated beasts!" Natasha organized some of the strongest group leaders specifically for this kind of situation, while the deputies handled the team command.
"You, go to the front." Emily stared at everyone in the team, immediately calling out anyone slacking off; under these circumstances, no one dared to be lazy anymore.
The team’s current situation was quite good; the tactic was advancing quickly without any sacrifices, and the injured received timely treatment.
Seeing the benefits, the Conquerors naturally stopped resisting and began to fight earnestly.
"Everything is going according to plan!" Tang Zheng and Dantai exchanged glances, very satisfied with the situation; the Conquerors were being fooled without realizing.
Silver Hair had mentioned the presence of the Japanese Trojan Squad, but they hadn’t shown up yet, indicating they were still waiting.
Natasha and Tang Zheng aimed to use this time lag; the longer they cooperated, the more proficient they became, the better the war results, thus easing the group members’ anxiety and causing the enemy to hesitate more during their attacks, garnering multiple benefits from a single move.
This is a psychological inertia; once adapted to Natasha’s pace, even if a few people raised doubts, reversing the situation was impossible because the female deputy could eliminate them before more could respond, using a bloody suppression to deter many.
"What do we do? Just let them charge onto the bridge, into Babylon?" Hidden in the shadows, the anxious group leaders gathered to discuss their strategy.
"Why haven’t other countries’ reinforcements arrived yet?"
"There must have been some problem; they won’t come!"
These were Japan’s unfortunate Trojan Squad members, controlled by the Trojan infection, unable to retreat from battle, or they would be outright annihilated.
"Attack, we can’t let them enter Babylon." The leader spoke, and the group leaders responded by joining the battle.
As the Japanese joined the fight, the battle intensified instantly, accompanied by casualties.
"Speed up!" Natasha’s commands flowed out like water, directing the united team in a torrential onslaught.
Emily, leading a temporary military police team, singled out the slackers and threw them to the front line. In such a situation, there was only a dead end, so others put in more effort.
Some perceptive group leaders noticed that those who died were mainly from the weakened groups; the groups of medium strength had almost no losses.
In this world, there’s no absolute fairness. With Natasha and Emily’s caliber, they could execute these conspiracies flawlessly.
Those who had made it to the group leader position were not fools; a few commanders were upset and dissatisfied, but that was futile. Under pressure, their voices were negligible, and they also attracted retaliation.
When two group leaders from the special attack team attacked the mutated beasts and were betrayed by members from the Night Saint and Moscow groups, the other leaders wisely kept their mouths shut. After all, Natasha had left a bottom line; as long as no one crossed it, those group leaders were given a way to survive.
The battle reached a fever pitch, with casualties happening constantly, but after three minutes, the situation began to improve.
Even the Japanese team, not united, encountered significant resistance, and after major casualties, inevitably showed signs of fatigue.
As Natasha’s side had seen too many deaths before, everyone now saw that under her command, the death rate was less than two-fifths of before, naturally maintaining their formation.(To be continued.
