Chapter 1486: Chapter 74: The Top of the Giant Rock

Tang Zheng temporarily served as the shield warrior, responsible for restraining Aya, allowing others to focus on the main offense.

Aya moved agilely, her legs spinning like windmills, constantly lashing towards Tang Zheng.

The scent of perfume wafted out, very tempting—it was also a tactic. As long as the enemy was distracted, sooner or later they would reveal a flaw.

Tang Zheng activated the gravity barrier, the force field around his body completely distorted, constantly changing. Aya’s whip kick swept towards his head, but before it could reach him, it was deflected, forcing her to increase her strength.

After all, Aya was the BOSS, with full firepower. Even Vasily in battle couldn’t possibly dodge all the attacks, he just got hit less compared to others.

Tang Zheng, of course, was no exception. So after several exchanges of blows, he realized that with each collision, a current would surge into his body. Although it didn’t cause any negative effects, it made him vigilant, and he roughly guessed it was this kind of trick that caused everyone’s bodies to continuously lock up.

"Tang Zheng, what’s the deal with your body?" The tough guy wasn’t good at beating around the bush and asked directly.

"I’m not sure!" Tang Zheng estimated it was an effect of the fire seed strengthening his body, but he would not reveal this secret to them.

Actually, Tang Zheng was wrong. The fire seed, compared to the precious fruit the tough guy consumed, was even rarer. But that’s only one aspect. The new virus formed after the fusion of two viruses that transformed the body was the major factor.

This virus, until now, is still alive, especially after being activated by the fire seed, mutated even stronger. Usually, they are dormant, but when faced with external invasion, they act as the most natural shield, altering certain traits expressed in the DNA to combat the erosion and destruction by these organisms.

One could say, Tang Zheng will never be sick in his lifetime, even extraction of his blood for culture medium, after killing most viruses, can lead to a vaccine that completely eradicates such diseases.

Most Fearless Ones also have antibodies in their bodies that are enough to guarantee they are immune to common diseases for life, it’s just not as exaggerated as Tang Zheng’s effect.

"Stop chatting, rotate, kill her quickly, and then go find the real Aya." Dantai saw the tough guy dissatisfied with the answer, still wanting to ask further, diverted the topic.

The group leaders also knew the preciousness of time, and went all out with their firepower.

Aya, like a trapped beast, was making a final struggle. Her body had mutated, making her even more suited for combat.

Zzzt, zzzt, Li Zheng’s spherical shot out light beams, catching up to Aya. Instead of bombarding, they wrapped around her body like ropes.

Warcraft Bro and the tough guy seized the opportunity and bombarded her relentlessly. Each strike created dents in her body, with flesh and blood flying everywhere.

Three minutes later, the mutated creature died, its body turning to ashes scattering, only leaving behind a dozen or so pale blue capsule-shaped long crystals.

"These are energy sources, replenishing life energy, roughly equivalent to three times that of an S-grade seed." The tough guy picked up one, scanned it with his wristwatch, and reported the result.

During the recent battle, the group leaders had not slacked off, so Dantai distributed the mitochondria sources equally, then let them distribute it among the group members according to their judgment. As for whether it was fair or not, that was not his concern.

The temporary team moved to an apartment building. After entering, Dantai smashed a hole through the wall, pulling out the internet cables.

"Qing Shuang, hack into the network."

"No problem." Shen Qingshuang caught the cable, connected it to the laptop with her ability.

Wei Xiangnan also came over and began operating on her computer.

"Natasha, we have a small problem here." Dantai briefed her on the trouble and asked if they had any information on Aya.

"Is Aya’s relative real?" Upon learning that another team had found Aya’s family, Dantai immediately asked them to verify the truth.

"Day off today, going to Central Park for some rest? Very well, thank you for your trouble." After getting a reply, Dantai also inquired about Aya’s work and colleague matters.

"Qing Shuang, find Aya’s colleagues, phone them, ask them if Aya went to Central Park?" After falling for a trap once, Dantai became much more cautious.

Seeing Dantai dependable, Warcraft Bro couldn’t be bothered to think and sat down on the sofa, playing video games.

"Xiangnan, hack into the satellite, aim at Manhattan, look up Aya’s exact location." Dantai wasn’t sure about their electronic warfare capabilities. If they were tracked by the enemy, conflicts were bound to arise, so he also had to consider subsequent plans.

"Got them, Aya did indeed take a day off today because she got two concert tickets from a colleague." Shen Qingshuang was very efficient in handling tasks, "It’s at the New York Metropolitan Opera House, starting at seven o’clock tonight."

"It’s just past one o’clock now, Aya probably hasn’t gone yet, so she’s in Central Park, right?" Fu Tianxiao looked towards Wei Xiangnan.

"Wait a moment, give me another thirty seconds." Wei Xiangnan went all out, manipulating twenty satellites, searching the streets of Manhattan.

Everyone kept their mouths shut, maintaining a quiet environment.

"Found her, she’s on Fifth Avenue, seems to be heading to the Empire State Building." Wei Xiangnan’s hands began to hit the keyboard, as being tracked meant control by consciousness alone was no longer sufficient.

"Good, let’s go." The tough guy howled and released the vehicle, then jumped on and started it, breaking through the wall, directly bursting out from the apartment.

"Would it kill you to be discreet?" Wang Jin frowned, and then was embraced by Warcraft Bro’s shoulder, "Forget it, don’t worry about him, thought he was the boss, turns out he’s been outdone, no wonder he’s frustrated."

The tough guy was just venting, speeding along not even a hundred meters before automatically coming to a stop. He wasn’t foolish enough to joke around with his life.

At this time, communication in most areas of Manhattan was disrupted. Mobile phones couldn’t be used, there was no internet access, leaving citizens baffled and, as a result, they hadn’t received news of widespread deaths, keeping the unrest to a very minimal range.

In less than fifteen minutes, Tang Zheng and his group arrived at Fifth Avenue and found that, true to its reputation as New York’s economic hub, it was bursting with a flood of people, bustling with the atmosphere and flavors of history.

"Where’s Aya?" Yue Jing urged, accidentally bumping into a black man.

"Hey!" The black man pushed Yue Jing away, saying something, but with Yue Jing’s patience worn thin, he directly punched the man in the stomach.

The black man immediately vomited gastric juice and fell to the ground, convulsing, unconscious.

"Aya is at the Rockefeller Center, probably went up to the Top of the Rock," Wei Xiangnan kept track of Aya’s movements, quickly reporting her location, while Shen Qingshuang was also busy setting up defense barriers, erasing the traces left by Wei Xiangnan and blocking the enemy’s pursuit through the network.

"What’s the Top of the Rock?" Li Huiwen approached Ruan Feifei, striking up a conversation with the female anchor, wanting to forge a good relationship.

"It’s an observation deck, the only place where you can be on equal height with the Empire State Building." In the real world, Lu Fan once went there with his mother to appreciate the view.

"Move out."

Dantai had already urged everyone to hasten, but it was still too slow. Just as the group was waiting outside and had just bought tickets to the viewing point, they heard Wei Xiangnan’s cry of alarm.

"Damn, a group of people are rushing up; they’re probably after Aya."

"It’s the enemy Trojan Squad." Looking at the frantic sprinting group, even a fool knew there was a problem.

"Go!" Tang Zheng stretched his long legs and sprinted, leaping onto the steps, then with one bound, diagonally scaling upwards, with a thud, he smashed against the wall of a building thirty meters away.

Several Group Leaders also followed suit, jumping onto the wall and swiftly climbing up like geckos, ascending over ten meters with each leap.

Tourists were shocked, looking up agape as these Asians climbed towards the rooftop like rock climbers.

On her rare day off, Aya, after a stroll, came to the observation deck, wanting to take in the view of the city she safeguarded on ordinary days.

Many visitors were there, admiring the cityscape. Aya waited for a Japanese couple to leave the telescope, then walked over, inserted a coin, and enjoyed the view.

From afar, Central Park was dotted in the midst of the city, like a patch of emerald lake. She was about to change direction when she heard the tourists’ screams.

Aya turned back, only to see a group charging up, pushing through the crowd, heading directly towards her. Almost instinctively, Aya slid her hand into her coat, gripping the Glock pistol in the holster under her armpit.

The ones rushing up were part of the Trojan Squad from the protectors; they were searching for enemies nearby Fifth Avenue, and upon receiving Ferrando’s orders, they immediately rushed over to take control of Aya. Her other companions were also speeding on their way.

"Don’t move!" Aya drew her handgun, but alas, against the Conquerors, this threat was very weak.

A blonde woman sped up, appearing beside Aya, slashing her hand across Aya’s wrist, knocking the gun away, followed by a knee strike to her abdomen.

Aya’s muscles spasmed, and she fell to the ground.

A tall black man caught Aya, shouldering her, ready to evacuate, when he heard the warning from his comrades.

Aya saw an Eastern youth rise from the exterior of the building, throwing a punch that shattered the protective glass set at the edge of the rooftop, catapulting inside.

The Trojan Squad opened fire with their rifles, skills blaring wildly, but as they neared Tang Zheng, they parted like seawater blocked by a reef, hitting the protective glass instead.

Fragments fell, and the tourists covered their heads, fleeing towards the exit.

"Take her away!" The Group Leader shouted, charging at Tang Zheng, his members also engaging in the fight, but the next moment, the tide of battle turned.

The tough guy leaped to the rooftop, his ten fingers metalizing into muzzles, firing green Spirit Energy bullets at the enemy.

Protectors activated their shields for defense, but several Native tourists got unlucky, struck by the Spirit Energy bullets and blown apart, their limbs flying.

Warcraft Brother and Wang Jin also joined the fight, but Li Zheng’s attack arrived first, his spheres firing, several tourists caught in the crossfire turned into black smoke.

Tang Zheng stretched out a hand toward Aya, activating gravity to pull them back, and upon landing, gravity blasted outward, throwing off the enemies, allowing him to bounce again, targeting the tall black man.

The tall black man was a Level 1 Hero who transformed via a Seed, tossing Aya towards his comrades, trying to block Tang Zheng with all his might.

"Get lost!" Tang Zheng swung his right hand, blasting away the tall black man with a Gravity Bomb, making a move to snatch Aya back.
