Above the Square Garden, space soldiers faced the prelude to death. They didn’t even have a chance to leave the landing pod before they were blasted to pieces inside it. Clad in power armor, they didn’t die immediately, but this only prolonged their agony.

"Charge!" The captain of the first squad knew that waiting any longer meant certain death, so he shouted into his communicator, directing his men to assault.

The surviving soldiers stepped over the corpses of their combat mates, only to be ravaged by lightning and magma. Li Zheng’s light beams were exceptionally sharp, cutting through the power armor with ease and slicing flesh, with blood spurting from the openings.

Under Xu Biyun’s psychic ability, a landing ship directly compressed inwards, crushing the soldiers aboard into meatloaf, then transformed into a metal puppet and sprinted towards a nearby landing ship. It heaved it up and smashed it fiercely down onto the space soldiers.

"Fu Tianxiao, Wang Fang, psychic attacks." Dantai roared, as countless white Ghost Bombs shot out from between his brows, whizzing towards the space soldiers, passing directly through the armor and striking their brains.

Although the space soldiers had been modified, their resistance was ultimately limited. With Wang Fang and Fu Tianxiao exerting their power together, their bodies became noticeably stiff.

Ruan Feifei wasn’t going to pass up such a great opportunity to rack up kills. With a lightning bombardment, the whole view was instantly filled with a jungle of blue electric arcs, with death permeating the air.

"These guys adapt so quickly." Wang Fang was worried that her own team might face another crisis of total annihilation.

"Why are you running that way?" A young man with ’Dragon’ on his forehead and his friend had run the wrong way. Seeing that the group was not there, he shouted in frustration, "Come over here quickly!"

The Dragon Youth didn’t want to change direction, as it would make him fall behind.

Everyone didn’t understand what trick Dantai had up his sleeve and waited and watched.

"What did you do? Is that going to stop the Beastmen?" The young man with the dragon tattoo was puzzled.

"Hmph, he’s blown up a section of the Fortress’s defenses and walls, giving the Beastmen a gap to attack through!" Kevo, true to his role as a strategist, was quick to respond, "Judging by the distance, in less than two minutes, the Beastmen can charge in and fill up most of the Fortress."

"Awesome, the Green Skins are definitely going to clash with the Star Soldiers. When they do, everyone can take the opportunity to hide in the chaos," Fu Tianxiao praised.

"Don’t celebrate too soon. What if the Green Skins attack us the same way Demons and Humans do?" Xiaobai couldn’t stand Fu Tianxiao’s attitude and was growing increasingly annoyed with her.

Green-skinned Beastmen charged into the Fortress, and just as Dantai had predicted, they attacked indiscriminately. These creatures could not withstand the impact of the survivors, who used them as cover and successfully escaped into a department store.

On the stairs of the third floor, a Newbie lost footing and fell down, but fortunately was wearing a Combat Suit and wasn’t hurt.

"That’s enough; let’s rest a moment!" Dantai stopped and took out a square mechanical device. Upon opening it, a Virtual Screen popped up, displaying the scene outside.

On their escape route, Dantai had been dropping Shen Qingshuang’s Monitoring Equipment at intervals.

"Temporarily safe." Shen Qingshuang took a quick glance and sat down on the floor to recuperate.

"Safe my foot. Even those small cities back home have surveillance systems all over the streets. Let alone a future-world Fortress like this one. I bet it won’t be ten minutes before the Star Soldiers come for us." As someone often up to no good, Baldy was particularly sensitive to things like Monitors, and he’d already spotted seven of them.

The gunshots outside were intense as the Human Soldiers fought desperately against the Green Skins. The Colonel had no choice but to organize a counterattack against the almost tidal wave of Beastmen that nearly filled the Fortress, without even the time to search for survivors.

"There are only five minutes left!" Bai Guoqiang exhaled sharply.

The atmosphere didn’t relax but only grew tenser. Apart from the few powerhouses like Tang Zheng and Qin Yan, even seasoned fighters like Xu Biyun and the female anchor were visibly unsettled.

And as for the Newbies, there was no need to mention their state; their fists were clenched so tightly that it seemed they could wring out water, all of them silently counting down in their minds.

Ten, nine, eight...

The Eyelash Woman couldn’t hold back anymore and read out loud, her gaze darting back and forth in search of the Teleportation Gate.

The time on the Wristwatch was clearly displayed; midnight struck, and for a moment, the survivors’ taut hearts eased, a sensation of relief washing over them. Gradually, however, the mood became heavy again.

"Where is the Teleportation Gate? Why can’t we see it?"
