Chapter 1434 - 23 Green-skinned Division

Chapter 1434: Chapter 23 Green-skinned Division

"Notify everyone, prepare to depart!" Right after Tang Zheng had spoken, they heard a violent explosion.

"Enemy attack?" The newbies were taken aback, unclear on what was happening, instinctively shrinking their necks and listening intently.

"It’s the minefield!" Earlier, Tang Zheng had ordered people to lay a minefield, fearing a sneak attack by the green-skinned beastmen. Hearing this explosion, the Conquerors stationed everywhere knew something had gone wrong and all rushed towards the armory to get their power armor.

The attackers were the seventh and eighth divisions of the green-skinned beastmen; their vanguard, after breaking through the defense line, did not enter the shelter to garrison but continued the pursuit, intending to drive the humans back to the fortress and occupy more territory.

By this time, half an hour had passed since Tang Zheng’s group teleported into the game, and the main forces of the two divisions finally arrived.

Looking through the lookout sky, Tang Zheng saw that the azure sky was filled with transport planes, obscuring the sun like a swarm of hornets, and the few newbies beside him went weak in the knees with just one glance.

"Look, troop carriers!" A newbie pointed towards the forest line in the distance; a large number of rudimentary vehicles were moving across, and the thunderous roar of their engines shook the earth.

The survivors in the shelter looked solemn and didn’t even dare to breathe heavily.

The Conquerors hurried to put on their power armor, preparing for evacuation. Facing the two divisions, numbering over ten thousand men, it was the most foolish thing to meet the enemy head-on.

The newbies were all praying, hoping the green skins wouldn’t penetrate the defense line.

"Did prayers work?"

For a full twenty minutes, the green skins were on the move, not even glancing at the first defense line, mistakenly assuming the previous explosion was a leftover landmine from the human retreat and didn’t give it much thought.

"Stop dreaming. They’re executing a blitzkrieg, uninterested in wasting time here. However, they will definitely leave at least one battalion to occupy the shelter, to secure a way out."

Tang Zheng’s predictions were entirely correct. Ten minutes later, the last battalion did not proceed further but entered the forest line, preparing to garrison, and stepped on a landmine.

The green-skinned beastmen did not know that strangers had already occupied the shelter. With their naturally short-circuited brains, they mocked their blast-wounded companions while calling for medics to come and treat them.

"No other requests, follow the previous training, groups of three, cover each other, kill them all!" Standing behind the shelter exit, Tang Zheng, clad in power armor, instructed the group members.

"Understood!" The Conquerors, all armed, lined up in two rows in the tunnel, each holding a heavy machine gun, ready to battle.

Yue Jing also wanted to say a few words to maintain the group leader’s authority, but no one paid him any attention.

"Group Leader, the green skins are coming up, fifty meters away," reported Xu Biyun, standing at the lookout.

"You have thirty seconds, remember your enemy’s position!" Tang Zheng assigned at breakneck speed, leaving no gaps.

"Ten meters!" Xu Biyun reminded again.

"Shoot the smoke bomb!"

With Tang Zheng’s sonorous order, Xu Biyun, holding the automatic grenade launcher, pulled the trigger, and 50 mm caliber grenades shot out.

Bang, bang, bang, the grenades spread evenly among the beastmen’s skirmish line, blasting clouds of gray smoke that quickly scattered with the breeze.

"Open the gate!" After Tang Zheng shouted, Shen Qingshuang swung her fist down on the red button on the wall.

A slanted section of the metal wall opened, letting bright light pour in, but with their power armor on, everyone’s vision was unaffected.

"Everyone charge!" Tang Zheng pulled the lever, and the tires on his power armor’s ankles scraped against the cement ground, sending the captain’s machine sliding out. Then, in a bound, he appeared seven meters in mid-air.

The captain’s machine cast a large shadow on the ground; the beastmen, hearing the engine sound, looked up and then saw Tang Zheng.

"Enemy attack!" The beastman captain had just shouted, and raising the rifle just a bit, a 30 mm caliber bullet blasted its head open.

Tang Zheng, in mid-air, targeted those better equipped, with badges on their shoulders – these were the captains. Green-skinned resources were scarce, and the equipment was low quality; the higher the rank, the better their weapons, easy to identify.

The other beastmen reacted, beginning to focus fire on Tang Zheng. They gauged the lead well, and a few shots actually hit the power armor, sparking off.

Tang Zheng extended his left hand, shot out a rope that wrapped around a large tree, then the wheel turned, retracting the rope, taking him in a different direction.

Thus, the bullets aimed at him fell empty, and the beastmen shifted their muzzles, with bullets like snakes, chasing after him.

The other Conquerors followed Tang Zheng’s lead, pouring out one after another, studding the sky like stars.

With Tang Zheng drawing fire, they could shoot without restraint, and gunshots erupted continuously.

Mu Nianqi adopted the same tactic as Tang Zheng, aiming to kill captain-level targets, while the others didn’t have such ability and attacked according to predetermined targets.

The Conquerors were all exceptionally skilled in shooting, and so in one encounter, the beastmen were left with over eighty corpses, with Tang Zheng, Mu Nianqi, and Yue Jing contributing the most.

Group Leader Yue had been at a disadvantage all day, and upon seeing the beastmen, he immediately saw red, wanting to prove his worth. He had thought about turning against Tang Zheng, but it was clear that their own power was no match for his, and even if they did fight, it was probable that the group members wouldn’t be willing to follow, so he could only swallow his anger.

Bang, Tang Zheng landed and immediately sprinted to take cover behind a tree, bullets hitting the tree trunk and sending splinters flying.

Whoosh, Tang Zheng didn’t retract his rope, instead swinging it out, carrying a whistling sound, and slicing several beastmen at the waist.

The power armor’s weaponry included a 40mm caliber assault rifle, a handgun on the left leg, a chainsaw knife on the right, and a row of grenades and ammo clips slung diagonally across the front.

Both the captain’s and support vehicles also had an additional three-barreled machine gun attached under the right arm and carried a conspicuously huge ammunition box on their backs.

Ratatatat, Tang Zheng emptied his ammo clip and didn’t reload, instead activating the machine gun on his arm. As the muzzle rotated, bullets swept through the densest beastman group like a metal storm.

Blood and flesh splattered, and limbs were thrown amid beastman screams, cutting them down like wheat, quickly clearing a large area.

Crack, crack, bolts of blue lightning shot out, the beastman shamans showing their might. The commander roared, sending all three hundred beast armor soldiers into the battlefield, else the beastman soldiers would have been completely overwhelmed.

"Disperse, cut them off, don’t bunch up!" Tang Zheng opened his communicator, directing the combat while constantly running and shifting his position.

The blue paint job was too conspicuous, with nearly half of the firepower following Tang Zheng, attempting to destroy the captain’s vehicle.

Seeing bullets about to hit, Tang Zheng activated the thrusters on his back, and his power armor leaped vertically, then the jet nozzle changed direction, causing him to fly out at a ninety-degree angle.

Tang Zheng counterattacked, and amidst the thunderous roar of the machine gun, bullets hit the beast armor soldiers, sparks flying, followed by a loud bang as they exploded.

With Tang Zheng feinting and attracting fire, the other Conquerors could focus on attacking, and their kill rate shot up. Having trained for ten minutes earlier, they were able to perform simple tactical maneuvers in their power armor without issues.

Although there weren’t many survivors, they fought the green skins to a standstill and gained an advantage over time.

The green skins maneuvered the muzzles of several war chariots, intending to cover the area with firepower, but with power armor mingled among the beastmen, they couldn’t attack boldly, fearing friendly fire. However, with so many soldiers, there were bound to be several sharpshooters.

Bang, one war chariot fired, and a cannon shell hit Fu Tianxiao’s power armor dead on, causing a huge explosion of flames and smoke that swallowed her up.

Fu Tianxiao was afraid to die and had hidden in the back, which ironically made her a target for the war chariots. The other chariots also spotted her and focused their fire.

"Help me!" Fu Tianxiao shouted. Although she wasn’t injured, her armor was destroyed, exposed joints sparking, and her movements slowed.

Tang Zheng swept the war chariots with his right hand, and with his left, he grabbed a grenade, pressed the detonation button, and threw it.

One by one, the war chariots were hit and exploded. Surviving beastmen jumped from the burning chariots, but were shot dead almost instantly.

"Go for the shamans and the commander first!" Mu Nianqi shouted, rushing towards the commander. As Her Royal Highness, she disdained slaying mere foot soldiers.

The commander was a high-blood Wild Bone Orc, their IQ developed, and bodies much stronger—40mm bullets were completely ineffective against them.

After the initial chaos, the commander finally controlled his subordinates with his loud voice, getting them to act on orders.

The bomb disposal squad rushed up, bombarding the area with rocket launchers. Several power armors were hit, flaming and falling, the Conquerors had to escape.

Though lacking in heavy firepower, the green skins excelled in numbers, supported by Black Orc Grenadiers. These resting in military trucks were roused by the gunshots, jumping down and entering the battlefield at top speed, engaging in melee with the survivors.

Countless bullets flew through the tree forest, weaving a curtain of death. People screamed in agony, falling into pools of blood, but the Black Orcs’ morale was high. Relying on their strong defense, they wildly charged at the power armors.

Taking what seemed like bucket-sized grenades from their belts, the Black Orcs threw them out, disrupting enemy maneuvers. During the blasts, they took the opportunity to rush in for close combat.

Black Orcs, famed for their high defense, could withstand dozens of bullets without dying, earning the reputation of a Dare to Die Team.

Bang, a Black Orc towering over two and a half meters tall collided with Tao Ran’s power armor, the powerful impact flipping the Black Long Straight onto the ground. Her experience in the game being too short, her combat experience was clearly insufficient.

As the Black Orc drew out its chainsaw knife, ready to pierce the armor and harvest Tao Ran’s life.

The Orc’s terrifying face appeared on the shaking screen. Black Long Straight was dead nervous, about to use her ability to save herself when Li Xinlan appeared beside her, decapitating the beastman’s head.

"Thank you!" Tao Ran expressed her thanks and got up.

"Be extremely careful!" The married woman wanted to support Tang Zheng, but he had ventured too far forward, surrounded by Black Orcs who were trying hard to encircle and kill him.
