Chapter 1353: Chapter 29: Reorganization
After losing an elite squad of men in black, they dared not pursue any further, understanding that even though they had already given the enemy a high evaluation, they had still underestimated them. The scattered remains of those colleagues and the ruins on the surrounding streets were the best proof. However, as the strongest organization protecting humanity, the men in black did not compromise. After reporting to headquarters, they dispatched even stronger forces to handle the situation.
This time, the orders from headquarters were clear: eliminate Hammer Squad without conditions, treating them as a highly dangerous biological hazard.
"We’ve shaken off the men in black." After no longer seeing those guys in black suits behind the bus, the man with a pockmarked face exaggeratedly sighed with relief and squeezed next to Shen Qingshuang. He could tell that this man was the easiest to deal with, always greeting everyone with a smile, so he tried to glean some intelligence.
"Don’t bother me. I’m busy!" Shen Qingshuang sat in a bus seat, and while the bus continued to sway, the laptop on his knees remained stable, his fingers dexterously moving as he worked. Upon seeing a red-haired man on the television, he guessed that Tang Zheng would definitely need his intelligence.
Not the least bit embarrassed, the man with the pockmarked face shamelessly sat next to him, "Are you an engineer? Very professional, aren’t you?"
"Qingshuang, find the location of that prison and information on the warden, as detailed as possible!" Pang Meiqin opened the bus door just as Tang Zheng arrived, flying alongside the bus at the same speed and easily entering. The metal armor on his body flowed like a tide back into his wristwatch.
The newbies were dumbfounded, all wanting such splendid and safe iron armor.
"I’m on it!" Shen Qingshuang was hacking into the city’s government systems, but obviously, the defense power there was not weak, and he was being tracked.
"Grandpa, I’m cold!" The little girl, having been vaccinated, was spared the risk of infection, but her body was too weak, and the side effects caused her to develop a high fever. She currently sat in her grandfather’s arms with a pained expression and her face covered in sweat.
"Don’t worry, just sleep, and you’ll be fine after a while." The old man’s wrinkles were deeper than dry wood, and he felt sorry for her as he wiped his granddaughter’s forehead, powerless as he looked again at Tang Zheng and pleaded, "Young man, please help her?"
"Little sister, would you like some juice?" Tang Zheng summoned the daylily, casting a halo around the little girl, but it wasn’t particularly effective against fevers. He took out the sweet spring and fed her a sip.
Any survivor who had activated Hero Mode wouldn’t get sick until they died, so he had only prepared medicine for injuries.
"Lu Fan, do you have any fever medicine?" Tang Zheng looked over at Little Lolita, who was sleeping in Li Xinlan’s arms.
"No." Little Lolita shook her head and pulled out a doll, trying to divert the little girl’s attention, hoping to make her feel more relaxed.
"Let me try!" Gu Xueqi crouched beside the little girl, placing her hand on the girl’s forehead and producing a nebulous layer of warm flames.
"Thank you, thank you all!" The sanitation worker, tears streaming down his face, felt ineffable gratitude.
The Conquerors all knew that these two were unlikely to survive until the end. The best outcome was an early death to avoid further suffering, but no one could bring themselves to abandon them, and they still spent their efforts and energy trying to save them.
Lin Fachan and Lin Jing held hands, ignoring everything inside the carriage, exchanging sweet nothings as they continued to show off their love.
Gao Liangcai had his legs up on the seat, his arms around his knees, staring blankly out the window, while Tong Yulei and Director Zhang had joined together, occasionally casting resentful glances at Pang Meiqin’s back.
Ran Mei stayed by Li Huiwen’s side, anxious and unsure, other than staying put, she didn’t know what else to do. Xu Liangmao definitely suffered a lot, rarely complained about others, often wondering if he himself had done something wrong. Looking at the sleeping Li Huiwen, he began to blame himself, feeling he had let her down. Encouraged by Li Xinlan, he moved next to her to take care of her.
"Brother Xu, how is your sister-in-law doing?" Tang Zheng was relieved, fortunate that he hadn’t been seduced by Li Huiwen the first time they met at the hotel, otherwise today would have been extremely awkward.
"She’s doing well, Tang Zheng, thanks for your help this time." Xu Liangmao was not a talkative person but really wanted to express his gratitude to everyone.
"He’s dying, what should we do?" Director Zhang found an excuse to strike up a conversation with Tang Zheng, referring to Yu Liben, who was critically injured and dumped at the back of the carriage, barely clinging to life.
"Let him fend for himself." Director Zhang was about to speak again when Tang Zheng raised his hand to stop him, "Don’t bother me."
"I just want to help the team a bit." Director Zhang said with a smile on his face, having been in politics for so long, he wouldn’t become enraged or lose his composure over a single rejection.
"Get lost, and don’t make me say it a second time." Tang Zheng didn’t have the time to deal with him; unfortunately, Teng Yuangxiang, who liked to play the tough guy, was dead, otherwise, he would have definitely jumped out and given Director Zhang’s chubby face a hard slap.
Director Zhang sensed Tang Zheng’s good nature and prepared to be persistently annoying, even signaling his companions to start a commotion. But Tang Zheng’s expression sank, and with a wave of his hand, he delivered a slap.
Like a spinning top, Director Zhang rolled out, spitting out several blood-stained teeth, half of his face swelling up.
The newbies who were just about to start the commotion suddenly became quiet as if someone had grabbed their throats.
"What do you want to say?" Tang Zheng’s piercing gaze swept over the newbies, they quickly shook their heads in denial, but there were exceptions.
A high school student bravely stood up and walked towards Tang Zheng. The girl who had worked at the KTV, trying to sell beverages, wanted to hold her brother back but he shook her off.
"I can fight, be cannon fodder, do any dirty or tiring task." The high school student, with a spirit of fearless ignorance, stood in front of Tang Zheng, looking him directly in the eye.
"Brother, don’t," the girl rushed over trying to pull him back, "what are you thinking?"
"Let go of me, sit back down." The high school student was stubborn. "As long as you agree, my life is yours!"
"What do you want?" Tang Zheng looked at the high school student leisurely, who was very serious, obviously ready to risk it all.
"We don’t want anything, don’t listen to my brother’s nonsense," the girl was nearly in tears, her pure cheeks filled with anxiety.
"I just want you to help my sister if she’s in danger, and provide her with medicine and treatment if she’s injured," the high school student hadn’t finished speaking before his sister covered his mouth.
"Hey, stop showing off your sibling love, it’s really annoying, okay?" Sha Ou reclined in his chair, munching on an apple that the princess in the private room had peeled for him, his face full of impatience. If he hadn’t been concerned about whether Tang Zheng cared about the drink-selling girl, he would have already dealt with this naive young man.
"Fine, I agree!" Tang Zheng took out a Thunderstorm rifle and handed it to the high school student.
"There’s a development." Shen Qingshuang’s words suddenly revitalized the spirit in the gloomy carriage, "The prison warden is at work today, you want to kidnap him to enter the prison, that might not be possible!"
"What about his family? There are many ways to get in!" Despite talking to the newbie, Tang Zheng’s mind never stopped considering how to handle the tasks ahead.

PS: Just releasing two thousand words today, my health isn’t good, but I am gradually recovering!
It’s been over a dozen years, and this is the first time I’ve had a fever lasting this long; these times have been truly awful! (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote or give a recommendation ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
